The bike ride represents differentiation because the people in the back are brought to the front every time. So you always want to help the students that are behind to bring them "up to speed." Also, each person was going at different speeds but they stayed together at the same time. So in the classroom, students may be doing different things but learning about the same topic.

I think this might represent a flipped classroom/ learning environment when the children are all riding bikes together, and they take turns leading the bike like while singing the song. I also this this might relate to a flipped classroom because after we watched the children riding bikes, they then were on a wagon and were singing to whom looked like might be a teacher. (Im honestly not sure because I have never seen this movie before...)

The children in the Sound of Music had different expectations and responsibilities when it came to the Do-Ray-Me song. Each contributed to the final product and were taught the same content. However, the older children sang the bulk of the song while the middle children filled in at parts and the youngest children only sang the basic notes. They all learned their scales but the older children got more experience actually using them.

I think this represents a flipped classroom/ learning environment because the first shows the children what they are expected to do. It is differentiated because the children all have different speeds at which they need to add to the song. This allowed the children to learn their part at a different speed and then be up to speed with the rest of the class when they were all singing it in the wagon.

I think this is a model of a flipped classroom because the "teacher" (Julie Andrews) starts off showing them what to sing, then she draws back a little to give someone else the lead then soon every child has caught up and been able to lead, showing that they "get the material" enough to "catch up to the rest of the class" so when the "teacher" sees this she goes back to "teach something new".

This resembles differentiated instruction because she uses three different methods of introducing the material. First she uses the "Do-a-Deer" approach to begin teaching notes, providing a pneumonic type device to help them remember what each note is and they are singing in unison in order of note from lowest to highest. Then it switches to skipping around to varied notes sung in unison. Finally, they go back to the notes in a row, but each child responding individually.
