Foolish
• Mama: “Son, how come you talk so much ‘bout money?” Walter: “Because, it is life, Mama!” Mama: “Oh—so now its life. Money is life. Once upon a time freedom use to be life—now its money. I guess the world really do change…” Walter: “No—it was always money, Mama. We just didn’t know about it.” p. 74

Walter Is foolish because he makes money the most important thing in life. Money is an important aspect of life ,but family and survival and then money. Just because you have money doesn't mean you can buy true love. That can be seen in Beneatha's case with George.

Eager
• “Sometimes its like I can see the future stretched out in front of me—just plain as day. The future, Mama. Hanging over there at the edge of my days. Just waiting for me—a big, looming blank space—full of nothing. Just waiting for me. But it don’t have to be.” P. 73,74
Walter is eager to fill his blank space of his future. Walter thinks he know how to fill the blank space with dollar sighs and new thing. Walter is impatient because he tried to take a short cut to get the license for selling liquor. Walter give the money that mama gave to him to someone he trusted ,but they took the money and ran with it.

In the end he keeps the house in the park even though the whites don't want him. Walter did the best thing by keeping the house and not letting the a white man put him down

Walter can be seen talking about it in the quote " Walter: “Because, it is life, Mama!” Mama: “Oh—so now its life. Money is life..." Walter say that it is life and it is the only way to move on into new parts of life. Which was true at the time. That is why Walter wants Beneatha to marry george because he has money. Walter doesn't realize to be happy you all you really need is family. Walter in the end keeps the house for the family
