A theme that can be seen in the play is money. Walter talk about money all the time throughout the play. Walter can be seen talking about it in the quote " Walter: “Because, it is life, Mama!” Mama: “Oh—so now its life. Money is life..." Walter say that it is life and it is the only way to move on into new parts of life. Which was true at the time. That is why Walter wants Beneatha to marry george because he has money. Walter doesn't realize to be happy you all you really need is family.
