HTML5 Has changed some tags like the emphasis and strong emphasis. The character and encoding changed.

The difference between HTML5 and it's previous versions is that it added new tags and made some tags mean something else. One of the tags that was changed was em it now means stress emphasis, i has changed to alternate voice, and strong now means strong importance.

HTML5 has different uses for tags like , or . Now they have a different meaning. The doctype is different, there is only one and it's very simple. The script is also more simple and easier to remember.

The meanings of some of the tags have changed to be more specific. the italic instead of just being a change in text it is a word from a different language or technical term. Some codes have gotten shorter because they were so long it is now easier to learn.
