Many say that we -the Japanese- breached the rules of The League of Nations by invading Manchuria without any declaration of war. In defense, it is essential to note that at the time Japan was scarce of natural resources such as coal, oil, bauxite, and iron and turning to China to make up for the lack of resources was our only option. Along with this justification, I would like to add that being as Japan was barely affected by the second World War, we had become increasingly crowded and rapidly increasing as a population due to our limited size as a nation- invading China was the only solution to gaining 200,000 square kilometers of land. Going further off this, our economy was dramatically affected by the Great Depression. Japan as a highly developed industry, obviously had its problems and setbacks that needed resolution. Being as I am general of the Imperial Japanese army, I will allow what needs to be done in order to survive. Anyone else, in our place, would have done what we resorted to, and Japan does not regret our actions.

Japan’s occupation of the Chinese territory of Manchuria is unlawful and unsupported by yours truly. If I ever become President, the United States will not recognize Manchuria as Japanese land.

When Japan invaded Manchuria, I was 10 years old. My family and I were still living in France at this time. Felt very scared because I was so young and wasn’t sure what was going on. I could tell that it was something bad was happening because my parents were very upset, and there were broadcasts all over the news talking about war. I remember my mom saying that Japan had invaded some place called Manchuria. At the time I had no idea where that was, and I was very confused as to how a country could invade another country.

“Where is Manchuria, mom?” I remember asking. She told me ‘it was nothing to worry about’ and that I should go back to playing with my siblings. In reality, it was the beginning to something that would affect my entire life. I had no idea that this event would start the war that I would be a part of.

Today I heard mom say that a place called Manchuria was invaded by our friends the Japanese. I don’t know where either of these places are but good for them from being like the fox and getting the rabbit like they tell me in school.

I have a few changes now that i'm in control, I will do away with politics and make Germany a powerful, unified one-party state.
