Bryce (16): Bryce is a very typical high school kid from Scottsdale, Arizona. He is about 5'9", 145 lbs and a sophomore in high school. He loves basketball and plays shooting guard on his high school JV team. Although he thinks that he is doing his best, he does not see any improvements in his game. He fears getting cut from the Varsity team next year because he does not think he is good enough to play at that level. If he gets cut, he fears that his entire identity will be gone. He wants to improve but does not know what to do differently.

Cam (33): Cam is in his early thirties. Similar to Bryce, Cam is pretty average. Standing at 5'10, 165 lbs, Cam does not stand out in a crowd. However, those who know Cam, recognize and appreciate his work ethic. In all avenues of his life, Cam excels because he does the "ordinary" tasks at a higher quality and quantity than the rest. In high school, Cam held the sixth man role on his school's Varsity basketball team and earned the respect of college coaches because of his attitude. After tragically tearing his ACL during his sophomore campaign in college, Cam focused on his studies and is now a successful psychologist. It is also evident he has a strong relationship with his coach, as you can see them celebrating after he finally lands his jump.

Additionally, the style of dialogue that Kobe has with the interviewer mirrors the dialogue of Cam and Bryce.
