In class, I try to broaden their minds with topics and ideas they might find interesting. Tutorials are to be used to support students to set targets and keep students motivated. Students also have a padlet to share ideas. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In lesson: Communicating with other musicians (agreeing how the song should go, accurately expressing/describing creative ideas, respectfully considering the opinions of other people). Respecting the tutor, putting their own ideas across when necessary/appropriate.<br><br>Outside college: obtaining gigs through "selling the product" to promotors and landlords, making friends with potential fans (who of course may bring friends along to the gig). Emailing. Adopting a good personable, persona when in public (especially after performing live) so as to appear more approachable. Negotiating with labels. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>7.Ability to learn and adapt.<br><br>For fieldwork skills lessons:<br><br>After the taught aspect of a lesson I get the students to plan next weeks survey using what they have learnt. They have to adapt the survey to the environment, perceived risks and weather/daylight. They then do the survey the following week. They the adapt the survey to the actual conditions on the day. They learn the strengths and weaknesses of the survey techniques and how to adapt in the field (an essential skill for applied ecology)</div>]]></description>

Employability skills are important for those wanting to progress at work, thinking about career change, returning to work or seeking work following redundancy. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. FE are in a good position because of their contact with people.<br>2. The report looks at the age group and the options (getting them ready for employment). But also, FE lecturers commonly come with a vocational background. - This means lecturers have to keep up to date with changing times.<br>3. The report makes a key point about numeracy and literacy are KEY.<br>4. If employers have too much say then is education a means for employers to suit the needs of now? Do they have to much input of our education?<br>5. In reality, teaching now requires teachers to teach 'here and now' skills.<br><br>Pull out in your literature - employability issues, how you will help learners employability skills and specific skills you will help learners to enhance. In report - "here is an example of employability skills and here are the ones I'm going to talk about".</div>]]></description>
