In other words, reading fiction helps students read informational texts better.<br>2. Teachers should consider genre when selecting texts to ensure that students receive instruction and practice across different genres.<br>3. In early elementary classrooms, students have access to and read far fewer informational texts than literary ones. This trend is more pronounced in classrooms with a higher percentage of students from low socio-economic backgrounds and from minority groups.</div>]]></description>
