The fewer vehicles allowed in the pocket park, the safer and more pleasant it is for people spending time in the space, and the more opportunities there are for different functions and uses in the space. Comment on this post with which of the following options you would prefer:
a) -2 parking spaces, retain 2 parking spaces
b) -3 parking spaces, retain 1 parking space
c) no parking retained in this area (current state)
d) extend the park to the full length, retain 2-4 spaces as needed, and include a turning head

Build-outs at junctions can reduce crossing distance and prompt vehicle drivers to slow down when entering or exiting a minor road such as those coming off Albert Street. This makes it easier for people walking along Albert Street to cross these junctions safely and easily. In this project we are looking at the crossings for Balmore Street and Park Avenue, which are well suited for these improvements. Further investigation to change all of the feasible minor road crossings in the same way would create a continuous experience for people using the pavement, and enhance the sense of identity along Albert Street.
