What is my best attribute in production work?
Creativity, focusing, and imagination.

What is my biggest weakness?
I can get distracted, using the editing software for photos.

STRENGTHS: Creativity and using my imagination whilst coming up for ideas for work. I have good focus levels when needed. My contribution to the group is very good as well.
WEAKNESSES: Letting the team do their own work(however, I will note that in both of my groups there have been times where documents have not been completed and we could put move forward in the production without them being finished so I did them myself). Sometimes, I can get distracted. I have trouble with some of the software on the macs when editing photos.

We also had to give eachother feedback for our SWOT analysis which is below so that we could get a different perspective on our production work and see what others would like us to improve on. Today was mostly independent work apart from getting some feedback so I found it a bit difficult but I am working on making my independent skills better and I managed to finish my work. The acting job was not interesting to me since you'd have to swap families and i'm not comfortable in doing this. The runner job did interest me as i know it would be good experience, although, the job occurs during FMP and i'd rather focus on FMP and not something else.I have also made a start to both my mind-map and moodboard to show when i do my pitch.By watching a short video I have learnt that a mind-map is always helpful when creating a project as you have one place where all your ideas can go before picking which ideas are best. In the future I can analyse my ideas by referring back to my mindmap and moodboard. If i haven't gone over something in a while i tend to forget how to do/use it so these workshops definitely helped although it was difficult as the workshop was quick and we only had 20 minutes to use each set up and explain how to use the equipment ourselves. However, I now know more about what each piece of equipment can do and how i can use it in my own work. I learnt how to set up a few pieces of equipment that i didn't know how to before, such as the jib. I asked questions such as "do you think there should be cheaper alternatives for fashion items shown in magazines?" since my part of the magazine is about men and women's beauty and fashion in 2016. The biggest issue we came across today was that almost no one was available for our primary research, but we managed to find a few people from the public for our vox pops as this was simpler than taking students out of classrooms to interview them. In comparison to an industry professional vox pop (insert a Niall video) we defitnley didn't find as many people to interview, however I think this is down to some lack of confidence when going up to strangers in public, who often do not want to speak with you. I have been finding research hard to do but with some help from my peers I have found some sources online as well as one of my own books at home to use for my research. I mostly had issues with finding suitable industry professionals but I chose Zoe Sugg as I know she does beauty and fashion blogging as well as her YouTube channel, and that her blog is helpful when trying to write articles about beauty and fashion. In terms of pre production I have been in charge of things like flat lays of the magazine, contacting locations for photo shoots, and getting people to sign talent release forms. I have also made plans of my articles. My plans will help me when writing my articles as I can refer back to them as a template. I am finding it hard to keep my articles simple but as they are only drafts I can check over with my chief in editor Emma and cut them down a bit. I was given permission by Gibberd Garden, parndon woods and town park but due to time restraints we chose to mostly go to Town Park as it is very large and close to college. From 9:45-10:00 we had a team meeting, 10:00-10:15 we picked up our equiptment, and we arrived at Town Park around 10:40. We visited each location that we wanted to use to check that they were safe to use and had the lighting and background that we wanted, one issue we had is that because of the large location we had difficulty locating the places. However, we had planned to do shoots for the whole day so we had enough time to do this. Another is that it had rained the day previously, so a lot of the grass and structures to stand on were slippery; this is a health and safety hazard that we noted for when we next go to the location. Once returning to the college at about 1:45 we looked over the photos we had taken, even though they are considered "test shots" we actually loved some of them. I had to take part in some more photoshoots today, I also took one myself for my fashion article(the photo that's in this post, but the background has now been removed). We had some issues with the lights being out of sync with the camera; we had two but one was flashing before the other making the photo dark on one side. We tried to fix it ourselves at first but we had to get Dave to help us, however, every time he tried to help us the issue wasn't happening! Eventually it worked fine and we took the shots. The only thing that I need to add to them now is the photos for recommended products, I will be doing this on Monday. After lunch we went to see Tom in Journalism to get some feedback on the progress of our magazine, he said he was happy with what he saw so far, but suggested that we should add a strapline to our magazine as most of the professional ones have this. To add a quote on the front from my interview with Emma and to move one of our peices of text as it blended with the background.
