Over 42% of the adult population in America is obese. That's a crazy percentage! That shows that many americans arent cautious around the foods they are eating. Taking care of your diet is a very important thing to do.

Why tracking your calorie intake is important.

The things that you eat and the calories you intake can have a positive/negative effect on your body. Overeating can cause heart disese, high blood pressure, high cholestoral, and sometimes can cause cancer. A bad diet can sometimes cause obesity.

The dangers of obesity.

According to the National Institution of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) obesity can lead to things like kidney disease, fertility problems, mental health problems, and type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is one of the most common effects of a bad diet. The more a person eats, the more they come addicted to food, which can put them in a very bad state leading to obesity.

Eat what you want. "You only live once".

This "motto" is not something to live by when it comes to eating, or taking care of your body and health. Because you "only live once", you should track your diet and eat healthy so you can live longer. Eating whatever you want and not watching your calorie intake has so many bad side effects like cancer, diabetes, and other diseases that can harm you or even lead to death. My grandma had a bad diet and it has brought her to have type 2 diabetes, shes overweight, breathing problems, and back problems. That is something I look at to make sure I dont end up in a bad place like that.

With these reasons stated above, taking care of your diet can change your life in such a positive way. Watching what you eat is hard, but it is the best thing I have ever done. And if you think you can’t do it, you can.

Gun Violence

Gun violence is a very big issue that is not talked about enough in many countries but especially the United States.

It has been reported that 32% of Americans own a gun. That’s 1 in every 3 people. What’s more is that 44% of Americans have reported living in a household with a gun. Some may argue that it’s for self defense, 72% of gun owners say it's for self-defense, yet, in a study conducted by the National Institute of Medicine, 3 out of 198 victims of home invasion employed a firearm for this purpose.

On the other hand, every 22 minutes, an American dies because of suicide assisted by a firearm. That’s 64 people every day, with suicides making up three in every five gun deaths.

In the last three years, 510 people have either been severely wounded or killed on school property according to the K-12 School Shooting Database. 510 may not seem like a lot, but that is over 500 sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, future fathers and mothers gone. That is hundreds of people with futures they’ll no longer get to experience. Not to mention the fact that a “school shooting database” was necessary in the first place to represent all of the lives lost and kids who never came back from school.

In a poll conducted by Gallop, two thirds of Americans stated that laws covering the purchasing and selling of firearms should be stricter. If 64% of people think something needs to change, that proves that something needs to change, and soon. An article posted by NBC News states that 41% more adolescents carried a gun with them from 2015-2019 compared to 2002-2006.

Additionally, from January 2019 to April 2021, more than 5 million kids under 18 became newly exposed to guns in their homes. Frighteningly, in 2020, guns became the leading cause of death among children and teens, rising above motor vehicle crashes for the first time in decades. A child is more likely to die from a firearm than one of the 36,164 car crashes that happen every day.

It’s so concerning how many people own a gun, it’s even more concerning how this trend continues to rise. We need to bring more attention to this issue.

Political corruption is a problem all over the world. Some people say that it isn't a problem but i think it is a problem all over the world and here are some reasons why. Political corruption causes financial loss, it promotes transnational crimes,it also can damage other countries and can disrupt a good government and wasting public resources. A study found that political corruption leads to increased poverty levels.

Political corruption can be caused by semi corrupt police, bribe-offering contractors along with inefficient law enforcement machinery and strong urban traditions of ethnic voting. Countries who are leaning to the Authoritarian way of government they tend to try to or use corruption in a way that could harm civilians or land. Political corruption can also hurt the environment , the environment gets damaged when the government does environmental crimes.when political corruption happens it also makes the community not able to trust the government.

World wide people have estimated that 1 trillion US dollars annually are used as bribe money by the government. Political corruption leads to an uneven spread of wealth among the businesses. The large businesses are financially stable but a lot of small businesses are struggling with money. Corruption ruins trust, delays economic development, weakens democracy, environmental crisis, social division, further exacerbates inequality, poverty.

These are just some side effects of political corruption there are way more side effects of corruption. Bribery is not the only form of corruption the other forms of corruption are embezzlement and influence peddling. Corruption is criminal, fraudulent, dishonest act by organization or individual, using untrusted power to make personal gain or illegal benefits or unethical benefits.

This is why we need to take control of how corrupt we let the government get before something bad happens that would hurt the economy or the community or the environment or the businesses.

Suicide is the third cause of deaths throughout the ages 15-24, which is the fault of mental health illness.

The reason for this cause is, only half of the people are able to get treatment for the illness, Affecting almost 10 million people each year in the United states. Lets say, having 5 people in one group, only 1 out of the 5 people will have mental illness, While 22.8% of people from the U.S experience mental illness. Back in 2021, 57 million people have experienced the same illness, and it has represented the 1 out of the 5 in that group.

Most people are oblivious if they have mental illnesses, until they go to a doctor, or you find symptoms you have of the illness. This is a list of symptoms of mental health illness: feeling sad or down, unable to concentrate or feel confused, having a sense of guilt or excessive fear and worry, tired more often than usual and/or low energy, etc…

Mental health illness can develop in more than one way. Mental illness can be genetic, you're able to get it from somebody blood related in your family, it doesn't just have to be your biological parents, it's able to come from your grandparents, uncle or aunts. While in a few other situations where you can have mental health illness is from a tragic event in your life, such as abuse, especially if it is a childhood trauma, and stress. But mental health illness isn't only developed from mental health, it can also be physical health, like a traumatic head injury, as well as chemical imbalance to the brain.

The United States is experiencing a mental health crisis, according to Data, and it is affecting all ages. Despite everyone being able to have mental health illness, it is more common for mid-teens and/or mid-20’s, which is calculated from half of all lifetimes, which means it's been calculated that midteens and mid-20’s have always been the most common age to get mental illnesses.

We know the symptoms and causes for mental illness, which is for all stages, but the causes for TEENS to have mental illness is a little different. Some Teens have a higher risk of getting mental illness due to their living conditions, stigma, discrimination, exclusion or not being able to find someone to help or comfort them through their troubles.

Mental health crisis is something many have experienced, due to the countless lives being taken from suicide, which is cause by the illness. The United States needs to get better support and service for the people who really need it.

Climate Change: The Most Infamous Crime Against Humanity

Climate change is a crime against humanity—and it's not some natural disaster. As the Earth changes, it's evidenced by global warming, and all we need to do is observe our daily lives to admit it. We see increased temperatures, decreased icebergs, animals left without homes, and ineffective ecosystems generating hurricanes, tornadoes, and drought—this was all planned. Humans are the most infamous wrongdoers behind climate change, and if we don't change our ways, we will become the newest victims of this crime.

Since 1850, temperatures have risen almost 2 degrees Fahrenheit (1.1 degrees Celsius)—a temperature increase that would not be temporary—because of human intervention. The rise of sea levels is almost ten inches from the melting of the ice sheet, and storm patterns are more aggressive than ever before. But it's not natural, either. Climate change, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), is “anthropogenic”. The changes are fueled by fossil fuel combustion and deforestation. The vast majority of climate change disasters are attributed to greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane. Since the pre-industrialized era, levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere have risen by at least 50%. Thus, more carbon dioxide is held hostage in the environment, and more methane is produced and released into the atmosphere, causing global warming.

But see, as all of this happens, the materials needed to fuel the factories and other machinery that utilize such materials are in greater supply demand. More coal, oil, and gas are burned than ever. More trees—the natural carbon scrubbers—are cut down for agriculture and urban development than ever. Things are getting worse because humanity—with the act of everything getting better—is covering the way for a greater catastrophe.

But here's the takeaway. We are killing the planet, and it's our fault. We kill the planet in excess and greed. Corporations care more about profits than the continued existence of Earth. Politicians care more about short-term financial reasons than long-term climatological stasis. But to only blame corporations and politicians is a shortsighted perspective. There is a more inconvenient truth—it's our fault.

People waste gas in their cars. They waste energy, they waste food, and they buy from unethical companies. Every gallon of gas used, every natural resource used, and every single piece of trash tossed in a dump is someone's choice. A misconception that humanity cannot fight this war is only a diversion to not fight it.

By 2050, an additional 250,000 people will die every year due to climate change-related natural disasters—heat waves, famine, and disease. Cities will be underwater, and in a generation, famines will occur from a lack of food. It's not something to worry about down the line. It's a problem that needs to be solved now. It's people removed by wildfires overtaking their houses. It's people fighting against the attack of hurricanes. It's people watching ecosystems fail. Climate change is more than an environmental issue. It's a human issue.

We did this. We need to reverse. Governments need to enforce fossil fuel usage, and solar energy and wind farms need to be created. Industries need to take responsibility for their products, and consumers need to buy what they can use. Citizens need to reduce their carbon footprints by using less energy, driving less, and being more considerate of everyday choices.

We're running out of time. The longer we stop, the worse it gets; climate change isn't going to go away because we stop moving, and it's not an illusion created by ignoring scientific reality. The numbers indicate that we, as a population, find ourselves in this current situation, and failing to adapt means that we are our own worst enemies. We have to question whether we have the power to fix what's been done and not whether climate change is real.

Have you ever stopped to think how deporting people is affecting us?

When the government decides to deport a person or family they often assume the worst of them without actually asking why they are here. Many immigrants come arriving trying to find a better life not just for themself but for their family too. If someone in the family got deported it would impact the whole family especially on their children.

In 2019 around 267,000 people were deported and around 50-66% having families. These families do not deserve to see each other get separate. Everyone has a family that connects to immigration. In fact, the only true natives of this land are the indigenous people, which means that everyone but them are in some way immigrants.

Studies show that when a family member is deported, a child’s risk of developing mental health issues such as anxiety, depression or stress can increase. An example is what happened on February 8, 2025, when an 11 year old girl took her own life because of classmates making fun of her and her parents, her classmates would say things such as, “We will call ICE on you” or “Your parents are gonna get deported”. This made her feel fear and stress all the time, the thought of her parents gone, she couldn't take it any longer February 8, her mother found her dead, she has unalive herself. No family should have to experience this, but do you see what deportation can do to kids? No child should have to live with the fear of losing their parents due to deportation.

Some may say that immigrants do nothing but cause crimes, take jobs from American citizens and harm the economy.

But that could be far from the truth. Research shows that immigration generally has positive economic effects. Research also says that immigrants have higher rates than citizens. They even pay taxes, including social security.

All that deportation does is cause trouble. It destroys families, causes trauma/issues and weakens communities. Many immigrants come to find a better future, but the government makes it hard for them. While others believe that immigrants bring harm, the truth is quite the opposite. If we want to make “America great again” then instead of aparting families, we should all work together and help one another, papers or not everyone should be able to live here no matter what

Gender Norms & Roles: Do they help us or hurt us?

Imagine this. You’re at a bus stop waiting for the metro to drive by. Not a lot of time passes, and you spot someone sitting next to you. They have a style you’ve never seen before. It’s so different, you can’t even identify their gender. What would you think of in this situation? It’s sometimes easy to say stereotypes because it’s trendy. But gender stereotypes, norms, and roles affect our daily lives in many harmful ways.

Sex VS. Gender

“From the earliest age, society begins to create differences between boys and girls and molds us into “suitable” roles, laying the foundations for our opportunities in adulthood.” says Maja Đundić on UNDP. The world has adapted so much that we start to neglect that gender is a social construct, and a lot of people mistake gender for sex. Sex is usually a term for when a baby is born. XX is usually female, and XY is usually male. If we left it like this, the world would probably not be as gender-strict as it is now. Gender is a word. A word that people made up. Gender roles and norms only started to exist because they split up female and male. But then, it started to feel repetitive. Gender roles split us apart and make us feel like we can’t change anything about what our parents gave us. But, some people feel more comfortable with these norms, and it helps them feel they have a place in society.

It’s Not All Horrible

Not all gender roles are bad. Sure, they can be scary for some people, but some people use them in their daily lives. “On the one hand, traditional gender roles can provide a sense of comfort, stability, and predictability in a relationship. For example, a man who opens the door for his wife or cooks for her may feel a sense of pride and fulfillment in being able to take care of his partner in this way.” says David Rasmos on Medium. Sometimes, if a family has one father, they are called the “man of the house” and that gives a sense of pride for them. But, you can think, why do people still do this? It’s all because of how men are shaped differently than women, and it gives them a sense of dominance. But saying someone is the man of the house, and shaking their hand just feels uncomfortable sometimes. Nowadays, not a lot of people do that, but it’s still common. In the long run, I still think that some of these gender roles can be bad for the community.

But is it?

When someone gets instigated because of their clothing, it’s usually because they wear outfits that aren’t usually “normal” to wear for their gender. Someone may say “You don’t look like your gender” when they figure it out. “Being misgendered may increase social anxiety, trigger self-conscious and self-critical awareness of an individual’s gender expression, and lead to rumination and hypervigilance about being misgendered in future social situations.” says many people in the International Journal of Transgender Health. So many non-binary, transgender, and other people deal with this every day. Sometimes, it even causes them to think of themselves as the problem. But they’re not. That’s almost never the case. People want to express themselves however they want and they always have the freedom to do so.

Gender stereotypes, norms, and roles affect our daily lives in many harmful ways such as misgendering, questioning, and more. When we think about it, it seems bad, but we just shrug it off and walk away. But if we don’t do anything about it, no changes will be made. No one has the ability to create and shape who you are but your feelings and your body.

Why political Corruption affects Everybody

Political needs to be stopped. I'm saying that because every political, the mayor, the government, etc., is never perfect and only use Their money to give to family and friends.

And sometimes never help their community.

Political corruption is a serious problem that affects everyone in society. It happens when powerful people use their position for personal gain instead of helping the public. This includes taking bribes, stealing public money, or giving unfair advantages to friends and family. Corruption might seem like something that only affects politicians, but its effects trickle down to ordinary people, making life harder for everyone. This essay will explain why political corruption is bad and why it needs to stop.

Loss of trust in goverments

One of the greatest problems with political corruption is that it leads to lost faith and trust in the government. When People see accepting bribes or committing something illegal, they lose faith in their community and government working on their behalf. The mayor gets money to cover up potholes, but instead, roads are filled with potholes all around the community that voted for the mayor, which can make them feel bad for their vote on the mayor (Just like Trump)

Wasted resources and Money

Money given to people taking charge can be used for good causes and the needy, but no, they just waste it on dumb things and sometimes flex on the poor. They also act like they're giving to the poor (Charity), but not really. They have the choice of how much they're giving, and it could be less than 10 percent of what they're making.

Fun Facts

“In summary, political corruption can be attributed to strong urban traditions of ethnic voting, semicorrupt police, and bribe-offering contractors, along with decentralized and inefficient law enforcement machinery”

Which is saying

Political corruption is caused by ethnic voting, bribes, and more.

Political corruption is a serious issue that affects everyone in our society, trust in the government, waste of money and resources, and can be unfair.

We people can use our voices and fight against it can help our society.

Death Penalty

There are many social and community problems that I strongly believe need to be addressed, but there is one problem that I think stands out. This is the death penalty. I believe this is inhumane and wrong since two wrongs do not make a right, the United States attorney general is just using fear to stop people from commiting crime like murder and finally wrongful sentences are very real and occur which means courts sentence innocent people to death row.

Two wrongs do not make a right. If somebody hit you it would be wrong to hit them back, but that is exactly what the United States attorney general and federal government are doing. But there are some criminals that have done horrible things and are very dangerous. Some of these monsters might deserve something like death row. That is why I suggest people who would get sentenced to death will instead just get sentenced to life in prison. But with that being said I think the death penalty should be acceptable if someone escapes prison.

Also the federal government is trying to stop people from committing these crimes by scaring people. I believe this is wrong and the reason for not killing someone shouldn't be because you would die yourself. For example if a dog pees in the house you don't want to stop it from peeing in the house by scaring or hurting it, you should instead teach it to pee outside so the dog can better understand what is wrong and what is right.

Finally innocent people get sentenced to jail, prison and even death. Courts are supposed to be about justice but it isn't always like that. According to the Innocence project "A 2014 study estimated that at least 4% of those sentenced to death are innocent." That does not sound like a huge number but it still should be 0%.

In conclusion there are various reasons the death penalty is inhumane and horrible. I believe the federal government shouldn't use fear to stop society from committing serious crimes, and I believe two wrongs don't make a right. Finally it is not fair to the innocent people who are being sentenced to death. And that is why the death penalty must stop, it violates our rights as humans and is a huge problem.

Mental health is the start

Mental health is what starts it all, so let's take a minute to focus on it because it’s no joke! 6ental health has shown that that is one of the causes of chronic diseases, stigma, and even at times suicidal, When you dig deeper you realize mental health starts it all! The good and the bad! You can't do anything good or healthy without first having a healthy mind!

Some people may say mental health doesn't matter because they're afraid they might have this “dangerous disease”. And some people think people are just trying to get attention and it's not real. And most people think we have more important matters to attend to. But again mental health starts all!

I Have anxiety which is a mental disorder which i honestly hate saying mental disorder because it makes it sound scary and like something you can never change but it's something i changed! When I had, well have anxiety, I constantly felt like I was going to throw up! (Which is a real fear of mine) everyday i would sit in the nurse's office or the social workers office just feeling sick! Which went on for months! But the really odd thing was that I never got sick! Just felt like it. Which was one of the symptoms of anxiety, a disturbance of your work or school day. The real kicker was when I was distracted with something fun or interesting I did not feel sick! So we figured it out eventually and I feel so much better and in a way secure.

Anxiety is not the only form of mental illness! There are so many more! Like depression, PTSD, eating disorder, schizophrenia! And some of those sound really scary and they are! Regardless of what mental disorder, regardless of what person. We have to focus on this!

So my point in bringing all this up is to think if that was you? And not one person believed you. Nobody knew what to do to help you. And you feel trapped! I'm so thankful for all the support and love I got from my family and friends. It pains me to think about all those kids and even adults who don't get that kind of support I had. So one step at a time. We can have mental health be the Best start!

Affordable Healthcare

As of 2022, more than 26,000 people die a year from lack of healthcare. But the price didn’t go down due to that. In 2023 U.S. healthcare spending grew 7.5 percent, reaching $14,570 per person, the average cost being $25,572 for a family and 4.9 trillion for the country. Families and people should never have to worry about not being able to pay for the care they need and healthcare should be affordable for everyone.

The National Library of Medicine says that people and families with no healthcare receive poorer quality of care which leads to a higher chance of health problems and complications. But the difficulties don't stop outside of unfair and poor care. When a family, household or person doesn't have healthcare and they need medicine or care they have to change the budget for other things. Other things such as groceries, simple hygiene products, and more essential household items. This sort of creates a domino effect and continues. Why should people have to worry if they can pay for groceries and care? Why should people be worried about not being able to afford to live? The answer is that they shouldn’t.

From the U.S Department of Health and Human Resources studies show that having healthcare is associated with improved access to health services. One study demonstrated that providing healthcare to previously uninsured adults significantly increased their chances of receiving a diabetes diagnosis and using medication to help. Healthcare is also critical for enabling children with special health needs or chronic illnesses to access health services and receive help.

Well, the “reason” people say health care is so costly is due to wasteful systems, rising drug costs, profit-driven healthcare centers, and types of medical practices. Well wasteful systems are not necessary, we can learn to save more and be more responsible about where health systems put their money and resources. And rising drug costs are partly due to them being high in demand, so if we promote healthy lifestyles and eating better we won't have to resort to the use of these drugs as often.

Healthcare should be affordable for everyone, nobody shouldn’t be able to afford to live.

Healthcare systems are organized differently in each country into various levels. Primary care is the main one of contact for individuals seeking medical advice or treatment. Healthcare medical research, health education and all contributing to the overall well being of society. The need for accessible and affordable healthcare has never been more urgent. They need to lower healthcare prices. Affordable healthcare is a factor that needs to be spoken about due to the fact that this would impact our society, this would create a healthier society and our community should be able to access treatments and medicines without the fear of financial ruin. Addressing the price of healthcare is important because it has been highly increasing throughout the years such as the administrative inefficiencies etc. We should be able to approach a healthcare system that values fairness and not just profit. Each healthcare system should ensure all our community, regardless of their income or background, should all be able to access the care that they need to lead to better health outcomes, and everybody should be able to get the same treatment. We should be prioritizing everyone's health as well as work towards their solutions that make healthcare easy to approach and not be a privilege for the few. According to the US if you even break a leg the bill could be around 7,500$ which is crazy expensive for just a breaking leg and if you were to stay at the hospital for only three days it’d be around 30,000 dollars! These are just a few reasons why they need to

Abortion should be legal

25% of women need an abortion at least once in their life, and if we have a full country abortion ban HALF of those women would die due to complications with the pregnancy. What if you were pregnant with an unwanted child not able to take care of yourself and the baby, wouldn't you want options? The government should not be involved in the choice of what to do with YOUR body.

Wouldn't you feel guilty if you were bringing a baby into an unsafe environment not being able to take care of them. What if you were raped, or had a violent partner that got you into this situation, you wouldnt want a child to grow up with that. Not only is the child's sake involved but the health problems it could cause you.

In Austin Texas, Amanda Eld and Josh Zurowski were expecting a baby. 4 months into the pregnancy Amanda's water broke, the doctors told them that she would inevitably have a miscarage. If she was to get an abortion they would have had to drive 8 hours to a different state. Women should be able to get abortions without having to drive out of their home state to some other place because the government finds abortion “unrighteous”.

5% of women have rape related pregnancies that can come from ages 12-45 an estimated 32,101 rape related pregnancies per year. Being raped in general can effect your mental health but having to take care of a child reminding you of that experience can put you in a horrible headspace for the rest of your life.

The other side might argue that we should give any and all humans the right to live, but not getting an abortion could end the life of a woman. The government is not the one sitting in a hospital bed in a life threatening scenario because of the laws against abortion and if they were they would probably be on the other side of the argument.

In conclusion I believe that women should have the choice of what to do with THEIR bodies and the government should not have a say.

I think equal pay wages should be thought of more consistently, things like gun violence, screen addiction, and things that affect younger people, but what about the things that affect older people.

Teachers make almost as much money as people who are physical therapists. In my opinion I think people who are almost taking care of people's children and not getting paid enough, even teachers with bachelor degrees make $53,800. That is the money that they make if they work year round and full time.

For example, a male police officer make 24% more than female officers, that is even if they have the same amount of experience, degrees and age.Add more

Why is it that men make more, you could do the same exact thing or even better and still make about 17% less than a man.

Decades ago women would stay home and cook, clean and care for their whole family, now after years of trying to make things equal for a gender that reproduces your whole family we still don't get paid the same amount.

We finally have the chance to get out of the house and provide for our families, we still can't make the same amount as our partners, family members or even kids.

Why was this law put there in the first place?

I know other people question it no despite their hourly wage, is this a topic that we should take more seriously.

Should someone be allowed to use a gun to defend his home from an intruder?

If you are at home by yourself or with your family, and an intruder broke into your house, you should be able to defend yourself and others using a gun against the intruder. However, if you don't have the

Castle Doctrine law or the Stand your ground law in your state, you might not be eligible to protect yourself and others.

All states should have these laws, because it will protect families from being harmed.

The Castle Doctrine law is a law that allows you to use any reasonable force including using deadly force if necessary against any intruders that try to break into your property. Porches, decks, patios, and vehicles are also considered property. With the castle doctrine law if you find the opportunity to flee the hostile environment then you must leave.

When you feel threatened or fear for your life, you are permitted to use any force you feel fits that situation. However, you should be aware that the Castle Doctrine law varies from state to state. Some states require you to show proof of an intruder's intent to commit a crime. And some states limit the force you may use against an intruder. For example, you may not use a gun, but you are allowed to use something less lethal like a bat.

Whereas the Stand your ground law, this law, allows you to use deadly force if necessary against a threat. Unlike the Castle Doctrine law, you are allowed to stay and have no duty to retreat from a threat. Any state that has the stand your ground law is enforced.

The Stand your ground law should be required for all states. There are many reasons why someone would want to stay at their property and defend themselves. For example some people might stand their ground because they 1). They might have family members or friends inside with them. 2). They might be disabled and can not physically leave. 3). They could have no other options to go to.

Some will argue that one does not need to use a gun to protect themselves from an intruder. They suggest that using non lethal weapons can still deter intruders. However, some people need to use a gun for protection, because less lethal weapons might not work for them. They may have physical disabilities, they may be too old, or not strong enough to use non lethal weapons to scare away intruders.

Therefore, when people feel threatened and fear for their life, they should be able to defend themselves from intruders using guns if that force is needed and is eligible. So the Castle doctrine law and the Stand your ground law is beneficial in protecting people and their properties, and should be a mandatory law in all states.

Climate Change

Climate change, driven primarily by human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, has emerged as a critical global issue. Its multifaceted impacts on the environment have been the subject of extensive research and debate. While the detrimental effects of climate change are widely documented, some argue that certain environmental benefits may also arise. This essay examines both perspectives, drawing upon evidence from reliable sources.

Negative Environmental Impacts of Climate Change

The adverse effects of climate change on the environment are profound and well-documented:

1. Extreme Weather Events: Rising global temperatures have been linked to an increase in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, including hurricanes, floods, and droughts. For instance, Tropical Cyclone Alfred, which recently threatened southeast Queensland, formed in the Coral Sea where sea temperatures were nearly 1°C above average—the warmest recorded summer in the area. Such elevated sea temperatures provide more energy, leading to higher-intensity storms. theguardian.com

2. Ecosystem Degradation: Climate change contributes to the degradation of vital ecosystems. In Vietnam, coral reefs around Nha Trang have suffered severe damage due to warmer and more acidic waters, leading to a notable decline in marine life. Bleaching events, attributed to climate change, have weakened these critical ecosystems, impacting biodiversity and the livelihoods dependent on them. Ap news

3. Altered Seasonal Patterns: Global warming is causing significant changes to Earth’s seasons. Projections indicate that by the end of the century, summers could extend to six months, while spring and autumn may shorten. Such shifts can disrupt planting cycles, animal migration patterns, and pose challenges for agriculture, particularly concerning water resources. time.com

Positive Environmental Impacts of Climate Change

While the negative impacts are substantial, some argue that certain environmental benefits may emerge from climate change:

1. Enhanced Vegetation Growth: Increased atmospheric CO₂ levels can stimulate plant growth, potentially leading to regional greening. A study highlighted that regions like the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and the Sahel have transitioned from fragmented to cohesive vegetation patterns due to anthropogenic climate change and afforestation efforts. This phenomenon suggests that some ecosystems may experience enhanced resilience and productivity. Arxiv.org

2. Longer Growing Seasons: Warmer temperatures can extend growing seasons in certain regions, potentially boosting agricultural yields. For example, research indicates that in West Virginia, between 1900 and 2016, maximum temperatures trended downward, average minimum temperatures ascended, and annual precipitation increased. These changes have led to cooler summers, warmer winters, and wetter weather, which could be beneficial for certain crops. Phys.org

3. New Agricultural Opportunities: Climate change may open up previously unsuitable areas for agriculture. Milder winters and longer frost-free periods can allow for the cultivation of new crops in regions that were once too cold, potentially enhancing food production and economic opportunities. Climate.gov

Conclusion

Climate change presents a complex array of challenges and opportunities for the environment. The detrimental impacts, such as extreme weather events, ecosystem degradation, and altered seasonal patterns, pose significant threats to global biodiversity and human livelihoods. Conversely, certain positive effects, including enhanced vegetation growth, longer growing seasons, and new agricultural opportunities, suggest that some ecosystems and regions may experience benefits. However, these potential advantages are limited and often accompanied by unintended consequences. Therefore, it is imperative to approach climate change with comprehensive mitigation and adaptation strategies, prioritizing the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the preservation of ecological balance.

A very important part about climate change is that many animals are being pushed closer to the edge of extinction one of the examples is polar bears. while the image down there looks normal what is really sad as climate changes grows stronger the more ice starts to melt and that means a lot of them drown in the icy water. Polar bears Not the only ones there are some such as

The giant panda many different whales bees

Tigers the pika monarch butterfly puffins seals

And many more.

Climate change can also help out

Climate change has been helping farmers grow more

Fruits vegetables by making it warmer and that helps

Crops grow faster by giving more heat

Shipping commerce are thriving because the ice in the sea is melting so they can pass by safely without getting trapped helping transport important things such as medicine or other utilities that are useful to everyday life.

sea levels to rise and cause floods around the world killing many

And running neighborhoods around the world

but that's not all due to the rising heat levels there have been more wildfires and makes heat waves more common and that poses health risks to the elderly and vulnerable populations.

Equal pay wages

I think pay wages should be fair to all no matter what you look like and should be important in this society. Pay wages are affected by other worldly problems such as poverty and violence but that does not mean it should affect your income.

First reason and examples.

Have you ever thought about the income of a teacher or a store worker? Well if you haven't they are very low. Even though in some places different teachers get paid depending on their position, the average salary of a teacher is around 40k. And for a store worker it is 35k. There are many ways why this could end up as a bad thing. First for example, if you and your family have low incomes or are poor, finding a job can be very difficult and working only to get 35k annually or 17 and hour will be very hard to even stay stable to keep a family, food and many other things. It was stated from the website ersstrategies that if the pay wages are lower that it also hard to hire more teachers which can affect the students education. With what I just stated can affect schools, kids and even their families in many different ways.

Second reason and examples

The pay wages from women and men are extremely different. Why should a male get more money then as an equally educated women? Did you know that the Pewresearch stated that women get 85% of what men earned. For many years the system of money have stayed the same, men earning more money than women. It was also stated that because of the different pay wages women were treated in a bad way. Pay wages affected by gender affect many people and its something we have to change.

Third reason and examples

My third reason is about how white people gain more money than a black person or a person of color because of the color of their skin. Even if you and another person do not have the same skin gives no right to treat them different. Studies have shown that a black person would typically earn 75% of what a white person would earn. But what is more crazy is that most of the people have the same degree and amount of education. Why should a person the same age, height and amount of education get payed more because of the way they look. The race of a person affects money, the way you live etc and this has to change.

In conclusion, pay wages are drastically different by many wrong ways and it has to stop. With the government, law and policies it has made it almost impossible to make these unfair wages reasonable.

Did you know that The ocean absorbs most of the heat we produce? A 2019 study found that oceans had sucked up 90% of the heat gained by the planet between 1971 and 2010.I believe that climate change is something to be very concerned about and something that needs more attention and awareness so that something changes in the terrible effects of climate change.

The effects of climate change include rising sea levels, rising sea levels, melting glaciers, more extreme weather events like heatwaves and droughts, changes in precipitation patterns, ocean acidification, disruptions to biodiversity and agriculture, and potential economic consequences due to these changes.

According to most scientists, global warming, as a result of human activity, began around the mid-to-late 19th century, primarily due to the increased burning of fossil fuels during the Industrial Revolution, which significantly raised greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere.

Many people may think that these effects of climate change are only affecting animals, and therefore thinking it's not that big of a problem, however the World Health Organization has proven that climate change is increasing heat illnesses, worsening air quality, food insecurity due to disrupted agricultural patterns, water scarcity from changing precipitation patterns, spread of insect-borne diseases, mental health issues related to extreme weather events, and displacement from rising sea levels. And research shows that 3.6 billion people already live in areas highly susceptible to climate change. Between 2030 and 2050, climate change is expected to cause approximately 250 000 additional deaths per year, from undernutrition, malaria, diarrhoea and heat stress alone.

With that id say It's time for skeptics to admit that Climate change is real, and the evidence for it is compelling.

According to recent studies from the University of Michigan, 15% of Americans don't believe in climate change, and will tell you that it's a conspiracy theory.

However, in reality, not only is climate change just doing all of these fundamental threats to people every year, but on top of that its affecting the direct damage costs to health (excluding costs in health-determining sectors such as agriculture and water and sanitation) and is estimated to be between US$ 2–4 billion per year by 2030. And that can bring many risks to human beings and all other forms of life on Earth. According to NOAA's 2023 Annual Climate Report the combined land and ocean temperature has increased at an average rate of 0.11° Fahrenheit (0.06° Celsius) per decade since 1850, or about 2° F in total. The rate of warming since 1982 is more than three times as fast: 0.36° F (0.20° C) per decade.

I think that climate change is a serious problem that needs to be solved, and I believe that everyone should be doing something to help instead of questioning it. While the effects of climate change are already irreversible on some levels, we can still avoid the worst consequences by taking action.

Till this day I'm scared of what's gonna happen.Lastly summarizing all this i think Guns should be banned it doesn't make any human feel safe and only should used for the right purposes , they should ask people for ID to able to get a gun no one should get a gun any younger than 18 . Young people usually do tricks to get one and they cause any type of shooting due to people dying and can't afford any health care.

Weed can be used as a medication for some people with cancer. It may reduce or relieve the symptoms or side effects of cancer and it can lead to overall better quality of life. A country that values liberty should not be punishing adults for using weed.

Researchers have said weed is safer than alcohol and less toxic than alcohol. Weed has less potential for addiction. Studies show that every year more than 50,000 Americans die from health problems from alcohol consumption and 386 people have died from weed. Of these 258 cases were caused by synthetic weed that is way less than people that died by alcohol use.

The government tears apart families over a plant that is safer than any drug. Weed was rated one of the least harmful drugs and when a parent gets put in jail because of it that can break down their household which leads the children to take the same path as the parent. From there the cycle repeats itself

“But weed is a bad drug” weed is prescribed to people medically and people use it in there free time for things.

Gun Laws

Gun laws are not as strict as they should be.

REASON 1: Guns are too easy to get

It is frightening that about 85% of the firearms globally are owned by private individuals. And then 13% are in military arsenals, and the rest of the 2% are owned by law enforcement. This proves that way too many people have guns, leading to the statement that guns are too easy to purchase. But since we aren’t “global” the USA should take action to these alarming rates of normal individuals with guns.

In the USA, the right to keep a gun in hand is protected by the Second Amendment of the country's constitution. And you are allowed to legally buy a gun at 18 years old.

That is way too young to buy a gun, even if you legally are an adult, they are still in school and practically still teenagers.

And just because the Second Amendment is saying that you can have the right to bear arms does not mean it’s right. This rule was made over 200 years ago. People change and we wouldn’t need to protect ourselves as much if guns weren’t so easy to purchase.

REASON 2: Guns cause so many deaths

It was estimated that 600 people die everyday from gun violence, that’s more than the amount of people who die from strokes! Guns cause so many deaths and yet, we can purchase them so easily from Walmart or Academy. And 37% of those 600 deaths could be caused by a homicide. From CDC online records, 79% of murders use guns as they’re murder weapons. Along with 60% of the deaths caused by suicide, and 1% from mass shootings.

Guns are the main use of deaths of suicide, and these are teenagers killing themselves and they can easily buy a gun with a fake ID. Along with some teenagers using guns for school shootings, mass shootings, and other deadly crimes.

Guns have, and are, causing so many deaths, and yet we defend the right for them to be used and purchased.

REASON 3: Guns make people constantly worry about they’re safety.

More than half of Americans are terrified by guns, mostly because of the sound, and the bad image they carry. But what's interesting is that 36% believe that themselves or somebody they know and love will get involved in an active shooter situation.

And many tend to have such a big fear of firearms, that they are too scared to go to school or any health care clinic. And to those who have experienced an active shooter situation, some lose the ability to work. The fear of guns is very intense, even if you do not encounter any of these situations, you still have the paranoia of being in a situation like that.

Guns spark so much fear and make many people second guess they’re safety.

Conclusion: Gun laws should be more guarded and strict over the use of guns, or the acts of gun violence will continue on. And though it would be difficult to stop it all in one, we could at least set a few boundaries. We must try and raise the age that is legal to purchase a gun, and we should not let any individual without a hunter’s license, or a law enforcement, purchase a gun. Along with only selling them in specific places, and not in any random stores. Along with hunter’s only renting they’re guns and not fully purchasing them.

Guns are very dangerous, and the gun laws right now should take action and see that the violence surrounding guns is a much bigger problem than we realize.

The Gender Pay Gap & How it is Unjust:

Did you know that in 2022, female doctors, on average, were making approximately $110,000 less than male doctors each year?

The gender pay gap is unfair and needs greater attention.

At this point, you might be wondering what the gender pay gap is- It is the difference in the average income between men and women. Where for every dollar that a man makes, a woman makes 84 cents. You might be thinking, what difference does a mere 16 cents make? Well the truth is, it adds up, to a lot. According to Census Bureau, the average income for a man from 2022-2023, was $66,790. While the average income for a woman -at the same time- was $55,240. This is clearly unjust, and it's obvious that something needs to change.

Along with that, The gender pay gap can also continue affecting women into retirement. According to AAUW, the result of earning less for all those years will cause them to receive less in Social security and pensions. As stated in an an article about the gender pay gap from AAUW; "Women have only 70% of what men do." Does that seem fair to you?
Some may argue, that the main reason for the gender pay gap is because women have lower paying jobs, and although this can contribute, and is sometimes the case, they need to consider the other components as well. Yes, some women simply have lower paying jobs than men, but it doesn't mean that this is true for everyone. And oftentimes, women having lower paying jobs isn't a choice. Did you know that women are 30% less likely to be considered in the hiring process? Evidence from a study conducted by researchers at UPF's Department of Political and Social Sciences, proves that fact. In their experiment they sent a number of fake reumes to 1,372 real job offers, it showed that 10.9% of the male candidates got called to an interview, while only 7.7% of the female candidates got an interview request. This demonstrates the unfair system and why it needs to be stopped.

As shown by multiple pieces of evidence and countless studies, the gender pay gap is real, it is a problem, and it needs to stop. The question is, how do we stop it? Well it's hard to say what needs to happen for the gender pay gap to disappear, but there are definitely things we can do to help. Look into this topic more, notice how it could affect you or someone you know, now or in the future.
I hope you now understand this problem to a higher extent, we can't ignore the unfairness in income, or it will never go away.

Men and women should get paid equally.

Argumentative Essay

Should women and men get paid equally?

Did you know that in 2024, women earned an average of 85% of what men earned?

Equal pay for men and women is crucial for fairness, economic prosperity, and challenging gender stereotypes. Paying women less sends a message that their work is undervalued, hindering economic growth and perpetuating harmful biases. Equal pay benefits everyone by boosting economic activity, improving workplace morale, and creating an equitable society.

The difference in pay between men and women is a big problem. Even when women do the same job as men, they often earn less. While things have improved, the gap is still there, and that's a problem. It's not just about being fair, it's important for a healthy economy.

Some say that women choose jobs that affect their pay. But there's more to it than that. Women often face unfair treatment when they are hired, promoted , or asked about their salary. This makes it harder for them to advance in their careers, no matter what they want.

This pay gap hurts the whole economy. When women earn less, they spend less, which slows down economic growth. If women were paid equally, they'd have more money to spend, and that would boost the economy. Studies show that closing the gap would really help the country's economic growth. In short, the pay gap isn't just about women's choices. It's caused by unfairness and unequal opportunities. We need to change things so everyone is paid fairly for their work. It's the right thing to do, and it's good for the economy too.

Many men and women work the same jobs, but women often earn less money. This isn't right. If everyone doing the same job got paid the same amount, it would make workplaces better. Happier workers are usually better workers, and paying fairly keeps good employees from leaving. Some people say that the differences in experience or job choices explain the difference in pay, but this ignores the unfair ways that society makes it harder for women to get ahead in their careers. To solve this problem, we need to change things to make sure everyone has an equal chance, so pay depends on the job itself, not whether the worker is a man or a woman. This means not only changing laws but also changing the ways people think about jobs and opportunities for women. A fair system means equal pay for equal work.

Fair pay is really important for families. It means more money coming in, which makes a big difference. With more money, families can afford better childcare, which is great for kids because it helps them learn and develop better. They can also invest more in their children's education, like better schools or extra classes, leading to better chances in life. Having enough money also reduces stress and makes for a happier, more stable home life for everyone. Families can focus on spending time together and supporting each other, instead of worrying that fair pay isn't just about getting a better paycheck, it's about making family better for everyone.

In summary, equal pay for men and women is crucial not just for fairness but for recognizing everyone's valuable contributions in the workplace. When we advocate for equal compensation in the workplace, we create a culture of respect and motivation. Women earning what they deserve also benefits families and communities, fueling wider economic growth. It's time to move past outdated stereotypes and embrace a mindset that values equality. This isn't just about women's issues. It's a human rights issue that impacts us all. By working together through movements and policy changes, we can foster a fair work environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Equal pay means a brighter future for all.

Guns should be banned, and here's why.

There's between 400/500 million civilian owned firearms in the us. Yes some people use guns for hunting but mostly its for ,suicide, homicide, violent crime, unintentional, firearman death and shooting.Theres= has also been 288 school shooting since 2007.People are scared to go out by themselves and they dont know when there last day will be or seeing their family. A way to solve this problem is to banned guns.

The psychological toll from rampant gun violence is often heavy, particularly for victims, their family members and those who have witnessed shootings. Survivors may be left with debilitating and life-changing injuries which require long-term medical and social care.In 2022, there were 45,222 gun deaths in the United States, which per capita, is significantly higher than in other industrialized countries.

Successive US governments have allowed gun violence to become a human rights crisis. The USA lacks measures such as a national firearm registry to monitor gun ownership. Individuals can lawfully carry concealed firearms in public in every state in the country.

More than 600 people die every day as a result of firearms violence, which is driven in part by easy access to firearms whether it's legal or illegal. They may be too afraid to attend schools or health facilities. Community-wide gun violence may prevent services from fully functioning, which can harm access to education or healthcare. Our human rights are not protected if our leaders fail to tackle and end the epidemic of gun violence and gun deaths.Black men and boys aged 15 34 are more than 10 times more likely to die from firearm homicide than white men and boys of the same age group.

Some people want guns in their house for safety reasons “only”,but if a kid finds the gun, gets it and shoots somebody or themselfs it’s a problem. Parents find the kid or that person that's on the floor. They call the cops now?Now there's a problem because why do they have guns in their house? I feel like nobody should even have guns, not even the police. Police should just be killed just to kill, like this once this guy brought a gun it was a bb gun and didn't shoot anybody. The School called the cops and ended up shooting the kid,the kid had no right to get killed. Yes it was wrong for him to even bring a gun to school but yet why shoot him.

For these reasons I think guns should be banned all over the world. The public is scared to go out. Sadly, Days can be unpredictable. It is unacceptable for others to kill innocent lives. Also, Police can’t just assume and shoot. People have families waiting for them at home.If they do something bad put them in jail WITHOUT GUNS there's no need for guns. We need more gun control.

The Gender Pay Gap

As of today, the gender pay gap is a big problem that should get more attention. The reason this is a problem is because no one should be discriminated against for their gender. The issue is that women are only getting 82% of what men are getting. Why is this a thing? Also, women of different races are paid differently. Even though women are getting paid differently, they should be paid the same as men.

Women are only getting paid 82% of what men are getting, this means that a dollar for a man is 82 cents for a woman. The reason women are getting paid less is because of many reasons, gender discrimination, lost earnings potential, insufficient worker protection laws, and simply because men work for more hours and pay to work at more dangerous jobs. One reason is because when someone wants to get a promotion or get hired, men always end up getting it instead of women. It isn’t right that women are not getting paid the same as men because sometimes women are also working as many hours as men, and they are expected to get the same amount of money as men.

Women of race are getting paid less than their white counterparts and men. One example is that Hispanic are getting paid only 57 cents for every dollar earned by a white male and Black women are getting paid 64 cents. The reason why they are being paid differently is because of their employers' perception of their race and gender. This shouldn’t be a thing because women should be getting paid the same as men instead of getting discriminated against.

Some people say that women are paid less because they are put into so-called “women jobs” to work there. Some examples are home health aids and child care. Men are paid more because people think “men jobs” are more important than “women jobs”. But it isn’t true that “men jobs” are more important than “women jobs” because both of the jobs are important.

Women should be paid the same as men but they only get 82% of what men get. Also Hispanic and Black women are paid way less than their white counterparts. Furthermore women are being put into “women jobs” and they’re seen as less important. Even though they are as important as “men jobs” and they should get the same amount of pay. In conclusion, women should be paid the same as men.

The Mental Health Crisis in America

By Kayla Castillo

With all the mental health issues that are going on with kids today, I think that we should have more mental health services in our schools.According to a teacher who was published in article written by neaToday “the mental health needs of her students have grown and grown and grown..The pandemic, coupled with decades of inaction by school boards and state legislatures, has only made things worse.” In the same article, they included data from a poll which said “nearly three-quarters of U.S. parents said their child would benefit from menta; health counselling-up from 68 percent in 2021.Additionally, about a third said their child has recently showed symptoms of mental health issues, including anxiety(19 percent) and depression(13 percent).” For this reason, I believe there would be many benefits of increasing mental health services in schools.

First, having more mental health services in schools would allow kids to get the support they need without their parents having to spend a lot of time and money trying to go through private therapy centers or programs. Insurance can be a major barrier to kids and families being able to access therapy.

In a research report written in August 2024 titled Closing the gap in access to child mental health care: provider feedback from the Wisconsin Child Psychiatry Consultation Program, it said “Some providers specifically identified challenges finding counselors and psychiatrists that accept Medicaid insurance or that will see uninsured patients. Insurance barriers were related to accessibility or transportation challenges as well as longer wait times.” If we had mental health services available in schools we could get rid of a lot of these barriers that prevent kids from accessing the support they need.

Second, if students were able to access more therapy and support in schools it would benefit teachers, students and the whole school environment. For example,in an article titled 8 Benefits of Implementing Mental Health Programs in Schools, it says “Children with mental health support are less likely to act out aggressively, demonstrate defiant behavior,or engage in disruptive acts throughout the school day. These positive changes in behavior benefit everyone–students, teachers, staff, and peers–by creating a more conducive learning environment.” It also listed other benefits including: destigmatizing mental health, improved student well-being, academic improvement, reduction in behavioral issues, creating a supportive school culture and supporting teachers and school staff. These benefits wouldmake a huge difference in everyone's lives.

On the other hand, many people don't believe in mental health and think that kids need stricter rules and should be able to control their actions. According to an article published by The American Psychiatric Association, “More than half of people with mental illness don't receive help for their disorders. Often, people avoid or delay seeking treatment due to concerns about being treated differently or fears of losing their jobs and livelihood. That's because stigma, prejudice and discrimination against people with mental illness are still very much a problem.” This article pointed out many stereotypes including people with mental health illness are dangerous, incompetent, to blame for their disorder, unpredictable. Because of these beliefs, many people believe that it is not necessary to add additional mental health support in schools.

As you can see, there are many benefits to having more mental health support in schools, including: More kids being able to access services, better overall school environment, Lower rates of teacher burnout, less stress on families and so much more. “One thing I keep repeating, over and again, is that more hands on deck makes for a lighter load…We're focused on picking up kids–and if you have more hands to put those kids up, it's so beneficial for those kids.” (Pyrett, neaToday)

Gun violence

Gun violence has been an issue for many many years especially in schools. This year there have already been at least 4 shootings in schools and it is only March. Guns have been used in alot of incidents, It truly is a big concern that anyone can buy a gun or weapon in general with just one license. Over 40,000 people died with gun-related deaths in 2023 in the U.S

Alone, Many of these victims or targets are children and the guns are also owned by minors as well or many children/minors have easy access to weapons. Even with all these shootings and gun violence many people still choose not to do anything and then the families of the ones who lost their life have to suffer in silence because they do not get justice, One good example of how terrible shootings are is “Sandy Hooks Elementary shooting” on November 14 in 2012, This shooting was caused by a 20 year old named Adam Lanzer, 26 people were shot and killed with most of them being children (Ages 6-7 year olds) , 20 children were shot and killed and 6 staff members were also shot and killed. Whats a bit odd of this incident is that the gun/rifle that he used was purchased and owned by his mother since he was not old enough to buy it himself due to connecticut gun laws at the time

Why we need to be the voices of the Voiceless: Why Protecting Animals is Protecting Our Future

Imagine a world where the songs of birds are silenced, the forests lack wildlife, and the oceans hold no marine life. This is not something that will never happen, but it is a real possibility if we fail to protect the animals that share our planet. The survival of countless species, including humans, hinges on preserving animal life, and it is our moral responsibility to act before it’s too late.

Wildlife is very important. Why? Because without animals we would lose many resources. Bees and butterflies are a good example of this, bees and butterflies are pollinators of flowers, trees, and even crops. Without bees and butterflies, we would lose many types of foods. Did you know that many medicines we have today came from animals? If we were to lose wildlife, we would lose important animals for future medicines. Wildlife helps keep nature in balance. Some animals, like birds and fish, help control pests, like mosquitoes, which can spread diseases. If we didn't have any animals, the pests would grow, and more people might get sick. That's why wildlife is important for keeping us healthy and helping scientists find new ways to treat illnesses.

What are we doing wrong now? Many animals now are being hunted and killed for things they might have. Like sharks. A shark is seen as a very scary and vicious killer. Movies like Jaws and the Meg show us that sharks will do anything to kill. But the odds from a shark attack are very small. Getting killed by a falling coconut is 30 times more likely than getting attacked by a shark. Falling coconuts are responsible for an average of 150 deaths annually. shark finning.two words for something so cruel. Shark finning takes place in Hong Kong. Although most major suppliers are from Europe, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, United States, Yemen, India, Japan, and Mexico. Every year an estimated average of 73 million sharks are killed for their fins. According to Google, Shark finning is the act of removing fins from sharks and discarding the rest of the shark back into the ocean. The sharks are often still alive when discarded, but without their fins. Just those words show how inhumane people can be. Another example of an animal thats mistreated is a rhino. A rihno is probably an animal that you've only seen in a zoo. But just like every other animal, they have a home. When I was doing my research, all I did was search “where do most rhinos live” And the first thing I saw was “Rhinos live in Africa, Asia, and Indonesia, but their range has declined dramatically in recent years”. Google shows you right there that rhinos are in danger. When people go poaching a rhino its primarily for their horns. A rhino horn is worth $400,000 per kilogram or about $11,000 an ounce. That's makes rhinos have a big target on their back. People have been exploding this animal and leaving them without their horns. If you didn't know rhinos need their horns for defending against predators, finding mates, and gathering food and humans take that away from them.

What can we do now?

We as a community have the chance to act and we can make a difference. You can make a difference. Every day is a new chance for you to help the animals that have been dying at the hands of human expense. So maybe take the chance to volunteer at an animal center, adopt an animal. Not every act has to be so big like donating thousands of dollars to help out. Every animal deserves to live. Just like every human does. Animals' lives don't mean less just because they can't speak up for themselves, so be the voice for the voiceless.

Throughout the years, rent has increased to a point where individuals worldwide 150 million people are homeless and about 20 percent of the world lives in poor housing which potentially leads to shortened life spans, which has been acknowledged and studied by researchers at Princeton University.

An impact that high rents can bring us is the limitation with money for food and insurance, not being able to afford quality health care, organic and nutritional foods, how? When landlords raise the costs of apartments, houses, hotels, or even renting rooms, people find themselves stuck in between two options, choosing to pay rent on time or choosing food and healthcare. Usually they decide to put their money towards rent, leaving them with less money to put towards getting insurance and food, which can have a major impact on their life. It further proves the research was correct and brings me to my second reason.

Overworking yourself. Overworking yourself is a common struggle faced on by millions of individuals who strive to get their rent in on time and maintain a healthy lifestyle, the pressure in handling this can really cause your mental health to deteriorate, the constant burden of multiple responsibilities at once can become so stressful to a point where they can eventually break down.

To come to a conclusion, I believe that raising awareness for the rising cost of houses, apartments, and more is crucial, especially now that people are getting physically, mentally and emotionally drained

The reason why women's rights happened and why? The reason about that is because Women's rights movements were driven by a desire for equality and a belief that women should have the same rights as men. This included the right to vote, economic opportunities, and personal autonomy and because Women couldn't own property, and they had to give any money they made over to their husbands.
