Your base layer of clothing should be synthetic because it'll help keep you dry. You should then  have an insulating layer of something like wool, and you should wear a waterproof jacket on the outside

The first is the 3 season tent. It's lightweight and meant for nice weather. The 4 season tent is a notch up in the sense that it can be used for 4 seasons, moderate weather and it's meant for cold and dry conditions.
