Ganesh is the remover of obstacles and is loyal. This was the first thing i've learned about hinduism. I liked the story about the creation of Ganesh although it was violent.

I particularly like that they do not discriminate against other religions; they accept all religions as valid, yet they only believe in one God. They also believe that if you follow the 8 fold path then you will find Nirvana. Nirvana means you achieve complete balance. I also learned about Islam. In the Islamic faith you will pray 5 times a day towards Mecca. They also fast for Ramadan. Ramadan being that you do not eat or drink during the daylight hours. I have always tried to be opened minded about other religions and have tried to understand what they practice and why so that I could get an understanding of that person's belief, but sometimes it is hard. Trying to understand this story and where Hinduism comes from really challenges me since it naturally does not make sense to me. I had never considered the Indigenous Belief System or Native American Spirituality, but it was interesting to learn about what they believe.
