Starting a poll is a great way to check understanding of learned material or check attendace (if you have two lessons in a row and you quickly want to see who is with you)

1. Bullying on Zoom: I let them join the zoom meeting via MOE Authentication. And I disable them to rename themselves. The name they join the class by are their rea names as they appear on MOE. This is also helpful for the attendance check after class is over.
2. Starting the lesson: I usually start the lesson with ice breakers like challenging them with the tongue twisters or watching a funny scene.
3. Zoom Features: I LOVE the Zoom features. I use the annotation feature when one of the compositions they wrote is anonymousely presented on the screen for everybody and we correct and analyze the mistakes together. I also use the poll at the beginning of the lesson to check the extent to which they did the pre-session task the were asked to do.
4. Sharing a Funny Zoom Story: Prior to the lesson I told them that for the coming lesson the will be asked to open their cameras for an activity. The moment they opened their cameras, they were all wearing ghosts and playing some music. This was a lot of fun actually.

I fell in love with Zoom Features as they make pupils laugh. When pupils laugh, they enjoy and learn better. When they learn better, they achieve high results! I intend to use the annotation fearure during my lessons, depending on the situation. Also, using Strawpoll is a clever idea to know who attends the lesson and whether pupils understand the material or not.

I use the breakout rooms a lot. It's a good tool for pupils to meet with the other pupils in class and also to let them do some practise of what was taught before or is going to be taught during the lesson. In addition this way when you're visiting the rooms you can give some special attention to the pupils, connect with them and help them with particular problems they deal with.
