However, I don't think that excuses her behavior towards Crooks in Chapter 4. She threatens him and uses racist language towards him, which was uncalled for.

She can't be blamed for her own death because it was Lennie freezing up when she screamed and he shook her so that is fully Lennies fault. Curley's wife can't be blamed for that, so that's why I say she's a victim.

So I think it could go both ways, but I lean more towards the victim side.
