My Auntie Lauren has had her ups and downs over the years. She is able to drive, work, and live on her own, but some tasks are difficult for her. She often has trouble communicating with family and does things that she thinks are normal, but in reality they aren't. My aunt also suffers with bipolar disorder and manic depression which doesn't help much with her TBI. She takes medication but when she is feeling good and acting normal(ish), she stops taking her medications because she feels although she doesn't need them when in reality she does.
