  • You should be sat with the other members of your group.
  • Discuss your initial thoughts on your gallery. Make a list of the things that could be covered in your gallery.
  • Complete initial research on your gallery individually, there is a link to quality resources at the bottom of this page. You should individually spend around 40 minutes  getting ideas for possible focuses that will help to explore the theme of your gallery.
  • Be prepared to feedback to the group possible ideas for focuses by taking notes.
  • Using the Padlet Focuses 1 to 8, 'storyboard' your gallery with the 'What' for each focus. In other words 'What' will the focus cover. At this stage you also need to think about 'How' you are going to create your focus
  • How will you use online resources and which ones will you research from? 
  • What form will your gallery take, will there be mixed media for example?
  • 'Why', why is the focus you have chosen important for exploring the issue? 'Why' are you choosing this as your focus from the many others that you could have chosen from?
  • Complete the 'What, How and Why focus' at the top of your individual focus Pad.
  • Home Learning: complete research on the 'What' - be prepared to present and feedback your ideas on your individual Padl during next lesson.

Aleppo: 
Out of 4 million civillians, Aleppo is left with  3 million residents.

Homs:
 Out of 1.4 million residents more than half have been displaced or killed.                                                People
50% of Syrian population displaced. 
10.9 million displaced. 7.1 million internally displaced. 3.8 million refugees.
400,000 killed. 1.5 million civilians seriously wounded. 200,000 detained. 
2,400 people reported missing.
                                                  Healthcare
36% of hospitals in Syria destroyed. 57% of hospitals damaged. 
50% of physicians have fled.
                                             Buildings and homes
1,200,000 houses destroyed. 3 million buildings affected. 
9,000 industrial facilities completely destroyed.
                                                      School
4,000 schools destroyed. 2.8 million Syrians out of school.
                                                   Places of worship
1450 mosques destroyed. 348 mosque completely destroyed. 
At least 100 churches damaged or destroyed.
                                            Cultural and heritage sites
290 locations have been affected. 
104 severely damaged and 24 completely destroyed. 
5/6 UNESCO world heritage sites damaged.
                                                    Cities
50% of Syria major cities destroyed. 
The country is 83% darker at night then when the war started.
Aleppo Syrias largest city is 91% darker at night then when the war first started.
Damascus the countries capital is 35% darker at night then when the war started.
