Twelve Angry Men: Understanding Perspective

I would characterize Juror ____________ as ----

                                                 Juror 9 Perspective 

News Reporter: “So juror 3 how was your overall view of the jury debate.”

Juror 9: “Coming into this jury I thought that this would be a calm and mellow debate, even though the consequence if the boy was found guilty. At first it was how I thought it would be, but later on the deliberation room broke out into chaos.”

News Reporter: “May I ask how chaos broke out into the room?”

Juror 9: “Of course. Well it all started out with Juror 8. He was the first to argue that maybe the boy is not guilty and innocent. He had a fair point that he brought across which lead to a few more jurors including myself jumping the side of the boy being not guilty. But this started to infuriate Juror 3 and he keep going and going saying how juror 8 is wrong.” 

News Reporter: “Wow anything else?”

Juror 9: “Yes, yes. Everyone started to get overwhelmed with impatience. And that’s where I stepped in stating, “It’s only one night a man may die.” And that ought the calm them down a little.

News Reporter: “Nice now can I ask where you made your point?”

Juror 9: “Yes”

Juror 9: “So later on towards act 2 we started talking about the old man that supposedly heard the killing. I stated that “No he really wouldn’t lie. But perhaps he made himself believe that he heard those words and recognized the boys face.” But of course Juror 3 has to debate against what I was saying stating that what I said was a “fantasy”. 

News Reporter: “How did you come up with this theory?”

Juror 3: “I didn’t want to state this at the time is because the reason I thought of this is because I could on a sense kind of relate to the old man. I may have not made myself believe I heard a killing. But I’m old and sometimes I just want people to listen or even pay attention to me.”

News Reporter: “WOW”

Juror 3: “Yep. And hopefully this all works out in favor of the boy being innocent. Being the tables are starting to turn on Juror 3. And he starting to contradict himself over and over again.”
