However, unlike the fine arts (and music) the notion of abstraction is not obvious when considering dance. Indeed, dance is mediated by the human body (the dancer), which is a highly familiar object. Humans are experts in analyzing the movements of the human body, predicting its future trajectory and understanding the functional aspects of an action and its emotional content. Hence, is it at all possible to attribute the notion of “abstraction” to dance that is mediated by such a familiar and concrete object – the human body? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5432560/

The dancers are not just dancing on one spot, they use the whole stage. Also I love how the set was very simple but it looked like a tent, hence the name of the dance piece. I noticed that some choreographic design principles that were implemented were elements of contemporary and ballet, but they were not preformed in a traditional way, but with with elements of abstractism in it.

There is a hole in the middle of the tent. The craftsman who made everything seen on stage, combined abstractionism with fairyland.
The dancers are using leotards color nude. This makes the dancers look like if they were naked but they aren't. It makes the dancer's shapes made with the body more noticeable.
2. Choreographic designs are implemented by the use of many different movements at once. One thing I noticed is that the dancers do not use any facial expressions.
3. I wonder what was going inside of his head when he came up with the idea of making this dance. What is he trying to tell the audience? What are the thoughts of the dancers while they were dancing this piece?
Is it a choreography and they had to learn every move? Or did the director tell them to just do whatever shape or movement they wanted to?

How is space shaped by the dancers and the set?

The space around dancers is shaped by their movements and the shapes their bodies make. The space is affected by the set because the set is also adding dimension and shape to the dance as a whole.

What choreographic design principles are implemented?

This choreography was designed to invoke emotion in the audience, as well as display the emotion of the dancers to tell a story.

What are some remaining questions you have?

I still would like to know more about the storyline of the dance and what it is supposed to represent.

How is space shaped by the dancers and the set?
Space is shaped by the dancers and the set by the movements in the dance and the way the dancers interacted with each other. One thing that stood out to me was how the dancers would go from small clusters to all spread out across the stage. The fabric and lighting also shaped the space.
What choreographic design principles are implemented?
A few choreographic design principles in the dance were how they used their whole body for the movements and the way they used the whole stage. Also, the formations were very different from usual formations.

What are some remaining questions you have?
Was there an idea behind this dance or did it not have a story or plot at all? How long did it take the dancers to learn this whole piece?
