Art Critique on Enchanted Judicial Kingdom By: Jose Fabio S. Salvador

A skeleton with a head that resembles a crown is shown, along with additional body parts protruding from the skull man's eyes and blood gushing from its eyeballs. Clouds, a pitch-black floor with crimson holes, and a floating castle that appeared to be coming from the skull man's thoughts were all displayed in the background.

What I can make out of this image, the element of art is distorted because of how significantly the skeleton's design has been changed by the addition of more skeletal parts emerging from the skull, the addition of humans rising from the base of the skeleton, and the transformation of the head into a crown shape. By bringing the skeleton closer to the artwork, the artist emphasizes that it is the main subject of the piece. Also, the amount of information present in the piece is so overwhelming that it hurts the eyes to take it all in.

I believe the image is attempting to depict a hellish place where the skeleton man wearing the crown rules. While he rots in his current location, the ruler there is fantasizing about a place where he would have a better kingdom and life. A ruler who greatly regrets his eternal damnation and still hopes for a better place in his situation.

Overall, I find the artwork to be quite impressive. It shows complex details that skillfully convey a powerful theme of finding hope even in the darkest of circumstances. The design of the skeleton ruler adds a touch of eerie interest, while the background, despite its absence of color, effectively conveys a sense of both edginess and hopelessness. It's evident that Bobby poured a great deal of dedication and passion into this art recreation, which shines through in the final piece. While it may be somewhat challenging to view due to its intense emotional impact, the quality and effort invested in this artwork are undeniable. I would confidently rate it 20 out of 20.

In the image, you can see a cross-like structure featuring buttons secured with rubber bands at both ends to prevent it from coming apart. Additionally, the cross is on a piece of cardboard, with a small design or pattern positioned beneath it.
From the photo, it's evident that the composition is thoughtfully balanced. Each side of the image appears to carry an equal visual weight, contributing to a harmonious and symmetrical arrangement.
While the 3D concept may appear simple at first glance, Nicollo's attention to detail shines through. The addition of little elements like buttons and rubber bands elevates the piece, conveying details of complexity that leaves a lasting impression. This attention to detail not only enhances the visual appeal but also invites a thought-provoking interpretation on the theme of resilience. Overall, I'd rate Nicollo's artwork a 20.

I see an object resembling Mickey Mouse. It is color yellow and made up of recycled materials. By the looks of it, I am assuming that this Mickey Mouse-like object is the subject.

If I were to analyze this artwork I would analyze it from the perspective focusing on the medium how the artwork was made and its color. As seen in the picture, it is made out of recycled materials, so I would consider this artwork to be bricolage. Another notable feature of this artwork is the dominance of the color yellow which may symbolize something once interpreted.

The way I interpret this artwork is something positive. Because the name of the artwork is "ANYTHING IS PUSSYBLE" a wordplay on the word "possible", in short, the artist wants to convey that anything is possible. He successfully did so by making an astonishing artwork using recycled materials or what we would consider everyday garbage. Another reason why it gives a positive mood is because of the color palate used, which is the dominance of the color yellow.

I can certainly say that the artist was able to make an effective and valuable artwork. Not only did he utilize objects that are often neglected, but he was also able to make it into a beautiful artwork without undermining the fact that it is from trash. The artist was also able to convey to me a meaningful and positive message with such a simple artwork. That is why I will give it a genuine 20/20.

In the image, you'll find two figures in colors of blue, in a praising pose beneath a vivid blue moon. Also, one of the figures appears to be seated on a boat. Noteworthy details include the vast expanse of the ocean, gentle snowfall, and the intriguing blue hue of the sand, suggesting that the scene is set during the nighttime.

From the image, it's evident that the artwork employs a simplistic style in the arrangement of its figures, small elements such as the boat, and the overall background. However, the use of colors is where its true magic lies. The chosen colors fill each figure with a sense of depth and character, transforming what might be a simple composition into something mesmerizing. This contrast of simplicity and color-driven depth is a hallmark of the artwork's charm.

This image seems to tell a story of an intriguing encounter. The blue figure on the boat appears to have unintentionally stumbled upon the two figures reverently praising the magnificent blue moon. Now, stranded in this mysterious setting, they find themselves observing the nightly rituals of these enigmatic characters. The image captures a moment frozen in time, evoking a sense of curiosity about the unfolding narrative and the connections between the characters under the captivating glow of the moon.

I am thoroughly impressed with this 3D artwork. Despite its seemingly simple structure, the artist's mastery in coloring techniques shines through, especially in the subtle shade such as the changing background hues, indicating the passage of time, and the coloring of the ocean, creating an illusion of movement. The artwork's mysterious quality makes the viewer to go into this thrill, encouraging many interpretations. This amazing piece not only encourages imagination but also showcases the artist's skill in evoking sensation and curiosity. Without a doubt, I would rate Marco's work a perfect 20 out of 20.

The subject is a pencil with an extended tip. There also seem to be clouds behind it as well as trees popping out. There also what appears to be a light blue sky as its background. There is also a man sitting on top of the pencil. This artwork masterfully uses a combination of layered papers, crayons, and pencils. The ripped papers being layered on top of each other gives off a cloudy background. The pencil also gives the big pencil texture and it's really nice. While the trees aren't very detailed, they still look good nonetheless. As for what this artwork means, in my opinion, it could mean an artist's block. The pencil can be an artist's tool which means that the man could be an artist. The way he is posed make it seem like he is thinking. Much like what an artist would when they have a block. The trees and sky are calming parts of nature so perhaps the man is thinking there to clear his head. Overall, I think this artwork is a 20/20. It uses many different materials masterfully and it tells an interesting message that many artists can relate to.

Bullet shells can be seen scattered over a plain white background. In addition to this, there are glass shards scattered along with the shells.

This contemporary light box art uses very simple yet meaningful elements and style of art. The artwork may lack variety but this creates harmony, balance, and aesthetic unity within the piece. The artwork incorporates a lot of blank space in its design which is represented by the plain white background. The bullet shells do not appear to have any particular rhythm or arrangement, because of this, the shell placement appears to be natural and creates the illusion that it was actually shot out of a real gun.

I interpret this artwork as a representation of the “War on drugs” that happened in the Philippines during the presidency of Rodrigo Duterte. The bullet shells and broken glass represent the violence that ensued in the Philippines. Violence that affected the lives of innocent people, not just criminals. It also represents the increasing amount of extra judicial killings, as well as the slaughter of politicians, lawyers, and journalists during the time. It is a silent protest for the injustice and murders that the government allowed and encouraged.

The artwork is very simple yet straightforward. It manages to deliver a very deep message using simple and little amounts of elements. The light box is also very creative as it uses actual bullet shells and not just paint. Overall, this artwork is the embodiment of less is more. It may have less elements to see, but it has a much deeper meaning behind it. I give this piece a 20/20.

The artwork looks like a yellow cat standing up. It is also made out of many recycled materials like papers and an old bottle. The artist was able to creatively make this cat by using a bottle for its body and papers for its other body parts. This artwork being 3D allows it to be viewed from multiple angles which is interesting because it means you get to see the full artwork. I also think that the use of paper for its body parts gives it a really nice and homey feel to it. I think this artwork is supposed to mean that anything is possible. In this piece, the cat is standing up which is something cats don't usually do so I think that's supposed to show that anything is possible. The color yellow is also associated with positive things so perhaps it is also a positive feeling that the cat is feeling and maybe the color is also to symbolize success. I give this artwork a 20/20. It uses the materials well and the message is good.

This painting used the technique and style, realism. In this artwork, the tree with the swing is very evident and is obviously the main focus. A landscape of mountains and the sea provides a good background for the painting. Different shades of green and blue are the color palette of this artwork.

There is harmony in this painting, even though unbalanced. Movements and patterns are present through the waves and the grass, background contains white spaces, and the tree is emphasized in the artwork.

In my understanding, “Gaia” displays about the Earth. This painting emphasizes the beauty of our planet, and highlights the importance of environmental preservation and our interconnectedness with nature.

Observing with how the painting is done, I can assume that the artist (Kahill) has had experiences with art before. There is great detail in this artwork, colors are properly blended, and is very eye-catching. With all this, I could say that this artwork is a success and was able to deliver a deep message to me. This is a 20/20.

The artwork depicts somewhat of a cat that has been created from different types of used materials. For me, it is a very creative style of forming an artwork and the fact that it is a 3d model makes it more unique. The body is made up by some used lotion bottle and paper that is used for the other body features of the cat.

The framework seems to be focused on the color yellow which emphasizes it. The kind of yellow used in the cat is not your usual skin color for the cat although that what makes it interesting. The 3d model allows it to be view in different perspective of the naked eye making it have more context.

I think that this artwork is meant to bring attention in the issue of recyclable waste that affects our environmental beings especially the animals that we harm in the process. The cat shows the symbolization of how these materials would eventually fill up the body of the cat since it must have adapted by their new way of living. In other words, by the title "Anything is Pussyble" proves that if we don't make the right changes for the future our animals would have to live a dreadful life on the contamination of our everyday waste.

It seems like a simple subject but looking at it in a different point of view, could utilize the materials used in the making of the artwork. Environmental change, the suffering of animals, and the impact for the future are on the key ideas that brought me to compliment the artist's success and it's recreation. It would therefore be a 20/20.

When you first look at the artwork, you see a tree with a rope attached to it. The rope has an item stuck to the end which has a wheel-like shape and the tree’s branches have no leaves on them.

The artist uses realism as he perfectly portrays the image of a dead tree, since the branches have no leaves on them and the branches look very thin. The artist shows the rope perfectly and I believe it represents a swing used in ancient times.

I believe the message that the artist is trying to portray is that the tree is an abandoned place which nobody visits anymore. I think the author’s trying to tell us the difference between the generations from before and the generations from now, because the older generations would use the swing but now children are more focused on using gadgets and devices for entertainment. The artist is trying to tell us that the place that was once busy and a spot to hangout for children, is now abandoned and never visited. This shows the harsh of today’s time, phones, laptops, and other gadgets have taken over and are slowly taking away from us the wonders of nature.

The artist got their message across successfully and it had a deep meaning which really touched my heart. The artist was able to show how the younger generation has changed with social media emerging and all the effects it’s had on us. The details were drawn perfectly too, and they couldn’t have been done better. I unhesitatingly give this artwork a perfect score of 20/20

The artwork has some very noticeable elements such as a boy eating what appears to be a mango or some kind of fruit under a tree while laying on the grass.

The colors here are very specific on the real-life features like the tree, grass, clothes, etc. It also seems to be windy as the grass gives a curve texture. There is some space given to emphasize the subject wherein he is eating.

The meaning behind this in my way of seeing it is the sense of nostalgia. Given the title "Simple pleasure under a tree", which may have unlocked a key memory of the artist on their past where they were also doing the same thing. Another is that the artist was trying to prove the enjoyment of having a simple life. Meaning that expensive things don't matter in their world, just the moments that we relapse on doing such as eating a fruit under a tree that you would always stay when you were a kid.

The artwork proved to be what my ideal kind of art style I have interest on and also the meaning behind it, nostalgia which i think is a likeable topic given my perspectives. I rate it a 20/20.

The first thing I see in this artwork is the boat sailing across the sea. The waves of the sea is shaped like a staircase that goes up once at a time. Furthermore, the top-hand side of the artwork is mostly white, while the bottom half is mostly blue with dashes of green. The sea appears to be rather calm and tame.

The style of the artwork seems to be distortion. A lot of light tones are used in the art, with few splashes of dark blue at some parts. The way it is painted gives off a very peaceful and calm feeling. All the lines are going to one direction, with signifies uniformity. The lines are very smooth, which gives off a smooth movement. The artwork also has visual balance, as the "weight" of the water is being counteracted by the "weight" of the boat and the sky. It also implies a smooth texture on the piece. Overall, the artwork achieves visual harmony, as all of the elements and principles mentioned work together to create a sense of wholeness.

I believe this artwork is trying to portray the quote "one step at a time". The calmness of the artwork represents the orderly manner of taking one step at a time. With the wind guiding the boat towards each wave or "step". The smoothness of the lines and the water movement symbolizes a smooth flow of events. It is implying that one should not rush things, and taking one step at a time means you will be more calm, ordered, and relaxed. It is also implying that no matter how high you must climb, or how high it seems, you can just take it one step at a time to reach the top.

Overall, I think this artwork is commendable. It successfully delivers the message it is trying to convey. I see that the overall smoothness of the piece is one its strengths. Because of it's various components, and the overall integrity and meaning of the art, I rate it as 20/20.

In the painting, I can see what appears to be three colorful houses surrounded by plants. By looks of the surrounding area it looks flooded and destroyed. I can also see a person or a child on the roof playing with a kite. Lastly I can see what appears to be fish in the water.

My analysis of this artwork is that the use of vibrant colors made the art work appealing to the eye. The way the artist painted the plants made it feel like they are all different species of plants. The artist painted the water like it was slowly moving away indicating that the storm was over which made the painting interesting. The artist used a bit of lightness and darkness to highlight on what happened in the painting.

I can say that this artwork is a representation of how hard it is to survive a typhoon. The houses and the scattered plants and debris in the area indicate that a strong typhoon occurred in the area. This typhoon also flooded and destroyed the area. I can see a person on top of the roof indicating that the flood was roof level that made people go up to their roof's.

I can say that this art work is a successful representation of strong storms affecting communities. The use of colorful houses and scattered plants made the painting feel like it actually happened. The person on the roof playing with the kite made the painting sad and happy at the same time. It's like indicating even if all hope is lost we can still find a way to adapt and overcome. I would rate this art work a 20/20

From what I can see, I can see a figure of a yellow cat made from recycled materials like a bottle and pieces of paper. This artwork really showed their creativity by them using whatever they have laying around their house to create something so simple yet visually pleasing to look at. When I look at this artwork, and judging by its name I think that “anything is possible” if you put your heart into it because Fab was able to properly recreate the original artwork even if he was limited in terms of resources. So my final verdict on this work is that, I believe that Fab was able to recreate the artwork with some accuracy because, it still looks like the original artwork and it relays the message the same way. I’d give it a 20/20.

Art Critique on "MODERN FAITH" by: CLAVERIA, Jaime Miguel A.

In the artwork, what I see is a cross that is color blue, the background that seems to be cardboard and rubber bands with different colors on each edge of the cross. The rubber band colors consist of red, green, and yellow. Lastly, in the cross, I can see small circles which adds shape variation to the cross.

Analyzing the artwork, I can see that the cross is symmetrically balanced in that both sides have equal designs, these being the rubber bands the and circles across the cross itself. There is also harmony in the design in that the colors of the rubber band contribute to bringing a more vibrant vibe of the blue cross due to them being bright colors such as yellow and red which clash with the darker colors such as green and blue. This clashing causes the piece to be colorful, and not be limited to only one color tone such as being dark tone only or bright tone only. Lastly, theres a form of repetition in this artwork because of the repeated use of circles to design the body of the cross which gives the artwork a sense of rhythm.

My interpretation of the artwork is that it showcases our Faith and what our religion represents. The cross is a staple in the Catholic Church because this is where Jesus was crucified as well as doing this gesture when we are about start and end a prayer. Additionally, the cross being color blue represents the freedom our religion gives and teaches us how to use it. The rubber band color of yellow represents the happiness the religions brings about to the world and how its people should spread happiness to others. Green represents the life our Lord has given us as well as the hope he has instilled in us in order to live meaningful lives and to give hope to those around us. Lastly, red symbolizes the love and care God has for us and it also means that we have to show love and care to our neighbors as well. These traits, freedom, happiness, hope, and love, is what our religion is trying to represent and that we should follow Jesus's examples and showcase these traits to those in our community as well in order to have true faith in God.

Overall, I like the recreation of "MODERN FAITH." The color appeals to what I like which is a clash of dark and bright color tones to make something that is colorful and not limited to just bright or dark. The artwork is also easy to understand in that the cross is literally a representation of our Faith in God. The colors give symbolisms which can add to our understanding of the art. Lastly, theres circles across the body which makes the art have a rough textured feel to it, making it not dull to look at. That is why I'd rate the artwork a score of 20/20

You can see three characters, each standing out against a brown background, they are vividly and strikingly arranged in the artwork. also noticeable is a small colour palette, and hues of brown, black, and white are used to represent the figures in a forceful and expressive manner. The two men surrounding the central man appear to be his friends or companions, while the central figure appears to be a priest. The concentrated figure stands out with a stunning contrast of brown and white against the black backdrop, likely symbolising one of the killed Filipino priests. Although the other two people give the impression that they are supporting roles, their presence gives the story additional complexity and meaning. For me the image sheds light on the Gomburza trio's tale, which concerns the three Filipino priests Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora who died in the late 19th-century Philippine Revolution against Spanish colonial control. I would give this piece a 20/20 a very powerful piece of art that illuminates a significant period in Philippine history and the sacrifices made by these slain priests. It stimulates the audience both visually and emotionally.

In this art form, the cross itself is the main focus. You can see cardboards coming together and forming a cross shape with rubber bands holding them together.

This is a balanced art form in a 3D structure. In this artwork, only one color is used (blue), shape formed is clearly shown, and it contains so much white space, emphasizing the main focus of the artwork, the cross. There is no movement yet there is good detail. Even with the artwork’s simplicity, unity of elements is still done.

The cross resembles the crucifixion of Christ. With the rubber bands holding it together to prevent it from breaking apart, I can see the art form displaying the message that “modern faith is not so strong.”

Seeing how this art form is made, I can say that the artist (Nicollo) paid attention to every detail and carefully recreated this artwork. With only two things used, a cardboard and a rubber band, he was already able to accomplish his goal. To convey a meaningful message through a simple artwork was a success. Nicole’s work is a 20/20.

Viewing the artwork, what I see is a cat made out of recycled materials such as plastic bottles, tape, paper, and many more. I also see the color yellow which is the color of the whole artwork. Lastly, there 's colors of white and black in the face of the cat.

Analyzing the artwork, uses the principle of variety to full effect. Theres different types of shapes such as squares, circles, the colors yellow, black, and white as well as textures such as a smooth body but rough looking arms, ears, and head. Additionally, the art is symmetrically balanced in that both sides have the same parts such as the both sides have ears, arms, and legs. The color yellow impacts the art by making it very bright which immediately catches my attention, specifically the materials it was made from. Lastly, this art is a form of Bricolage because it is both small scale as well as made from recycled materials such as plastic bottles, paper, and cardboard.

Interpreting the piece, I think the focus is the use of recycled materials to make the cat. As the title suggests, anything is possible. This means that we can also use used materials, that are typically thrown away, to make and recreate subjects or objects. In this case, the artist showed this by creating a cat with recycled materials. He used materials such as plastic bottles to create the body and head, used paper to make the cat whispers, eyes, and ears, and finally, used cardboard to make the arms and legs. We do not need to always use expensive materials to create art. Art can be created with even materials such as recycled plastics and many more.

Overall, I like the concept the artist was going for in this artwork which was using recycled materials to make something. What I liked is that he proved that art can be anything and be made with anything. As the title says "Anything is Pussyble." I will give this artwork a score fo 20/20 because of this.

Despite there being different colors scattered around, they all somehow seem balanced to me. Likewise to the different items present, they all seem balanced to me and isn’t and eyesore to look at. I feel like what this work is trying to convey is that, when we sleep, our dreams may be random, but it can be a sign of what we are feeling in our life. Judging by the colors, I feel like this person is having a fun time in life because of all the different colors present. So to conclude this critique, I will say that they were able to recreate the work properly and I like the way they drew and colored everything, so I’d like to give this a 20/20.

The artwork is a geometric shape, specifically a vertical rectangular prism. The background is blank, there is nothing to see. Inside the prism. there is a shaded circle. The prism is also split into two, one with a shaded portion and one that isn't shaded.

This piece is focused more on geometric shapes, and has the form of a rectangular prism. The lines are very defined, none of which are character lines, signifying its static nature. There is no movement present in the artwork. There is a lot of negative space in the piece. Everything is symmetrical, indicating balance in the art. There are no colors to the piece, only light and darkness.

The way this artwork is structured and based off its title, I believe that its trying to say that in the future, everything about the world would be calculated. All that would matter in the future are the objectiveness of everything, a world wherein math and science prevail. Forgetting subjective qualities, everything would be dull and plain, which is evident in the use of only geometric lines. Not only that, but it may also represent the trending style of minimalism, of how it would affect the future.

Although very simple, it still conveys a strong message within the art. I think that the use of only geometric shapes was a very creative way of conveying the message. It's purposely made to be dull and plain, almost boring, in order to properly depict the meaning behind it. Overall, it is a great piece, which can lead to many different interpretations, and so I rate it a 20/20

The most noticeable thing about this artwork is the pencil with what seems to be like a man on the tip of the pencil which seems to be a building. There's a sky and around the pencil trees are growing out of it. Aside from that all you can see are the clouds surrounding the pencil in the light blue sky. I think this piece properly represents the appearance that one of a pencil and building would have. Not just this but the way the clouds were drawn really compliment the drawing itself adding to the vibe of the entire artwork. I think from the title itself "tuktok" its the feeling of being at your peak and not knowing what to do after that you reached the very top, your looking down on all the other artworks or performances you have done and now you don't know what to do anymore the man sitting pondering about his choices or actions after reaching his peak. I would give this artwork overall a 20/20, the way the artwork itself was done was very complimenting to each others elements and also makes the viewer think and come up with their own interpretations for this piece.

From the recreatinal art, I can see that it is an abstract art. Many elements can be seen and interpreted, such as the blue birds at the very top, one pecking a fruit, while anothe is holding a watering can up to a small forest of color. The forest itself, is very bold and bright. Colors such as green, blue, red, orange and pink are seen on the painting. And those colors can have different meanings as well.

On the mountains, there is a contrast between light blue, green-like tones, dark green and brown. There is also quite some negative space in the background, being left only white. There is not much value in the art, light colors are mostly used and there is no shading. However there are lines that border the shapes, creating a bit of texture and perhaps depth.

From the title itself, I think it conveys the creativeness of our dreams while we sleep. The different colors can perhaps interpret what we can see or feel during these dreams, sadness, anger, and so on. But it also looks like a children's dream, somewhat very dreamy and colorful.

Overall, I like the art.

In this painting, I can see a beautiful looking curved tree. I can also see a tired hanging by the tree. Lastly the scenic area surrounding the tree such as nearby beach, hills, and grass in the area. I can also see its not just an ordinary tree, it looks like a fruit tree or a orange tree.

My analysis for the painting is that the painting's brush strokes and how the painting was painted made the painting look realistic. The way the artist painted the leaves and grass made it look and feel alive to the point it looks like its moving. The use of colors in this painting made the painting look very appealing and structured. The artist used shadows and brightness to highlight the main subject with is the tree.

My interpretation of this art work is it gives of the simple times in life. In our lives we have that moment where we just savor that particular moment and that painting gives of that vibe. The painting feels like a joyful afternoon in the beach were you can just enjoy the day. I believe the artist is trying to say that we should enjoy those moments with nature and having those simple times in life.

Overall the painting for me is successful because of the vibe it is giving off. The painting's harmony and balance made the painting truly remarkable. I would like to commend the artist for the vibrant use of colors and techniques in making the painting. If I were to see this painting for the first time and not knowing anything about it, I would rate it 20/20.

In the artwork, I see a person lying under a tree while eating his fruits. The colors in the image are the green grass, his blue shorts, his orange shirt, his yellow fruits, and the brown tree trunk. Other than that, the boy is about to eat one of the fruits he is holding.

Analyzing the image, it shows realism in that it depicts a subject doing day to day things such as eating food. It doesn't deviate in any way like making certain features bigger or different but instead focuses on capturing the details of the image as accurate to real life as possible. Additionally, the image shows harmony in that the multiple bright colors seen in the art makes the art have a cheery and bright tone. The colors depict a bright and beautiful atmosphere. Lastly, the image uses proper use of proportion in that the person is the biggest in size while the fruits are smaller which gives the implication the main focus of the art is the person.

My interpretation of the piece is that this boy is enjoying the relaxing and beautiful scenery while eating fruits under the tree. He is simply enjoying life as it is, not worrying about any issues he might face. I say this because the bright colors in the image means that whatever is happening there, it is something which is peaceful, happy, and overall pleasing to look at and feel. The grass is healthily green, theres no trash or mess in the area, and all he's doing is eating. I believe that this art is trying to say that we should enjoy our life and not rush things. Similar to the boy, we should just enjoy and appreciate the present and not worry about the future. We should always look at the bright side of our current life in order to live our lives with joy and peace. We should also try to appreciate the simple things in life. Appreciating even the most simplest of things leads us to have an overall positive outlook which we should always have.

Overall, I like the artwork because of its simplicity and its bright color style. It depicts a relaxing and peaceful environment and I find it giving me a cozy type of feeling and a feeling of warmth inside me as well. I would rate this artwork a 20/20 in my books.

The art depicts a scene of three priests that are to be executed. A traditional house in the background, and it being filled with orange. One of them already dead, while the other two and lined up with their hands tied together. This is realism. Interpreting it as the scene where the three martyr priests who were executed using a gammote (the device the first priest is executed in) as found guilty for orchestrating the Cavite Mutiny. The art portrays part of our history.

In the art, we can see that it has orange, and more of a neutral color palette other than the colors used for the house. Orange tones were used for the skin of the priests. There is texture and depth in their clothing, the cloth on one's head, the gammore and the establishments (the wall and house) behind them. The recreational art outlines the main subjects of the art.

Again, this art illustrates the execution of the three martyr priests otherwise known as "Gomburza".

This art it quite interesting to say the least. From the title itself, it tells the end of their lives and represents part of our Philippine history. Overall, I don't really like the message this art gives because it signifies their death, however I do like the fact that it is a more realistic approach to contemporary arts, telling an important scene in our history. 15/20

The main subject of the artwork is the cross, it seems to be painted blue and is made out of cardboard. It is only held together by rubber bands. There seems to be little dots or points within the cross. It has a background with a light color.

The artwork has visual balance, specifically symmetrical. All the sides are equal, and the use of rhythm is present with the repetition of dots inside the cross. There is a clear contrast between the color of the cross and the color of the background, further highlighting the cross. Since it is a 3 dimensional piece, it uses the form of a Christian cross. Only geometric lines are used in the cross, displaying a feeling of no motion. There is visual harmony present in the piece, from the balance, to the contrast, and the repetition.

I think the artwork is conveying the message of weakening faith in modern times. The cross appears to be flimsy, being made from cardboard and rubber bands which is the only thing holding it together. Which can possibly mean that Christian faith today is flimsy, and that it isn't solid. It could be broken at any time by anything. The dots can be seen as pins, which highlights the weak points of faith today. The dark blue color of the cross can mean a sense of hopelessness, sinking further into despair. In contrast with the bright background, which represents how faith is supposed to be.

Personally, the artwork struck me through the chest. It really highlights how our faith is weakening in modern times. This piece represents our dwindling belief in our faith as Christians, and it does well to remind us of our change in faith. This piece is masterfully done, I would rate it as a definite 20/20. I think more people should see and understand what this piece is trying to tell us.

I see many houses surrounded by flooding water. Pieces of trash and leaves, even trunks from trees floating about the flood. There is also a small child playing with a kite on the red roof of a house. From there on, the water seems to get deeper at the bottom of the art.

The painting has contrast and value on lighter and darker shades of blue, representing the flood. There is also no negative space seen as allof the blue background represents surface flooding in the neighborhood. The houses are all different colors from each other and it greatly distinguishes itself from each other. The greenery floating about are also of different shades. There also seems to be no lines whatsoever in the recreational art.

This looks like a scene from a strong storm. The storm was not enough to destroy the neighborhood, however there was enough rainwater to flood the houses where even the children started to climb to the roof. This heavily depicts on the Philippines because we are usually prone to typhoons. Floods and such are quite uncommon.

In my opinion, I like this art. It represents how many neighborhoods, especially those in low areas can look like after typhoons. It helps spread awareness on such issues as well. 17/20.

The art "Ethereal Steps" perfectly shows the spirit of floating feet. This artistic style creates the appearance of feet floating weightlessly by fusing realism and abstraction. The painting features a unique setting, such as an otherworldly portrait, where the ground is non-existent and just focus is on the floating feet, which are the central element of the composition. The floating feet represent freedom from gravity's limits and represent a symbolic journey into the unknown. This kind of painting encourages viewers to consider the borders between reality and imagination as they engage in a creative investigation of a meeting point between the physical and invisible.

I also see some shadowed faces/body-like form mixed with the land. The woman’s face nor her clothing is not seen, therefore I can only base on her body gesture which seems afraid.

From the whole art itself, It is drawn by pencil sketching and it is somehow fits into a realism art. Since there are no colors used, the shadows provides depth and texture. I also think it is well-balanced with the landscape/background.

my interpretation of the painting on regards to the details and the title, is that the painting itself depicts the image of a women covering her ears from the judge-mental words of her elders. The elders resembles as the long-lost souls that are attached to the woman. The land is her own spacious area on where the woman has usually been having these mind-problems

Personally, the artwork is great by details, simplicity of design, forms, and the recreation itself. It was easy to visualize, make an interpretation, didn’t give the viewer a hard time analyzing the artwork. I would give the art and the artist 19.2/20.

This piece depicts a calm sea or ocean with an array of blues and greens. It is cut by areas of white; across from below, and diagonally from above. There is a ship sailing at the edge of the white above, where it meets the blue expanse.

This artwork could be considered abstraction as it does not describe its landscape through well-defined shapes, but with large swathes of color. Said colors are predominantly the cooler hues of blue, green and white, set in varying tones to provide depth and variety. In conjunction with its drab grays, the hard angles and straight lines of the subject, a little ship, distinguishes it from the landscape which dominates the foreground.

The title suggests an eponymous journey which seems to be undertaken by the piece's subject. I believe that the ship's journey through the mists and into calmer waters is a metaphor for a truth about life. There may be times where the paths in one's life are shrouded and unclear, where they're easily led astray. But just as the little ship finds calmer seas, so too can one find tranquility along the path of their own dark journey.

The different hues of the colors could use some work in order to convey depth better, but it's not bad at all. Whatever its message may be, it is undoubtedly soothing. I would say that, overall, the artwork is solid.

18/20

Near the sandy coast of a body of water, there is a tree situated on a patch of grass. The leaves are bushy and vibrant and full of orange fruit. A tire swing wraps around the unnatural curve of its trunk. The tire swing casts a shadow, but the tree itself does not. In the distance there are mountain or hill-like shapes, and the impression of even bigger mountains looming behind them. In the background, there is a night sky, with the crescent moon peeking over a giant fluffy white cloud-like shape that fills and covers most of the dark sky. There is a barely visible thin white structure below the mountains at the bottom right corner. Fumes or smoke come out from the top of these structures.

The foreground is filled with warm, natural colors. A dark earthy brown is used for the shadows, and an almost yellow off-white is used for the lighting that hits the greens of the grass and the tree leaves. Tying the warm hues together is the use of subtle gold highlights, more notably used on the tree, which is the centerpiece of this painting. Contrast to these warmer tones, the water is a cool blue color, mixing into a murky, oil or tar-like black the further the water flows away from the natural greenery of the foreground. The mountains and the night sky are a similar mix of black and blue. The brushstrokes around the greenery look softer and fuzzier, while the dark background is painted more starkly and firmly.

The name of an artpiece is part of the artpiece itself. "Gaia" is a well-known mythological figure in the pantheon of Greek gods and goddesses. Gaia is a representation of the Earth, and one of her epithets is "Mother of All". Going back to her characterization as a representation of Earth, the womanly shape the tree takes the form of in this piece makes sense. Additionally, her epithet as "Mother of All" is also eluded to in the swell of the tree bark's 'belly'. From her hair sprouts natural life - leaves and fruit. Yet the tree has no shadow, as if it is not there; or maybe it is better to say that it will SOON not be there. In the background, we see the mark of humanity's industrialization. A factory so small that it may seem insignificant, but the giant cloud in the background may not just be a cloud, but a byproduct of the coal we burn to make fuel.

This work is a statement on the loss, or eventual loss of our environment as commercialism, industrialization and human advancements continue to burn or affect surrounding natural life. It covers our skies and muddles our waters. One day, our patches of grass and beautiful trees will disappear without even leaving a shadow, and we will mourn in their absence. This is a beautiful work in both composition and meaning . 20/20.

This artwork is an portrait of a woman in black and white. It is very basic and doesn't have that much detail.

The artwork is in black and white. The technique is very simple with the artist using a pencil and sketching. He uses different levels of shading to emphasize different parts of the woman's face.

I believe that this is just a simple portrait photo. Perhaps this is to communicate what the artist thinks is beautiful hence sketching the girl because he thinks she is beautiful.

Overall I'd rate this a solid 17/20 perhaps the technique and drawing could be cleaned up more but overall it is very close to the original.

I see that the artist's brush strokes are from side to side and that it could represent waves or a body of water. I also notice the use of the colors black and white in the painting. I also notice that there is no subject in the painting.

The artist creates the center of interest by using the color white to bring attention to the middle part of the painting. The artist used the color white to make accents in the painting so that it would have a meaning. The artist used his brush strokes to give meaning to the painting.

I think that the artist is trying to depict the sea because of the way that the artist stroked his brush made it look like a black and white ocean with the sun reflecting on it because of the white strokes in the middle along with the solid black color which made it look like sunset.

The painting is overall hard to understand because it looks plain and it only uses 2 colors. It requires you to really focus on the painting in order to get its meaning. I give this painting a 17/20

In this artwork you see the body of a human being in the shape of a skeleton. There is also a castle in the back and inside the shape of what seems to be a cloud. There are also red droplets on the skull and red droplets around the floor.

The artist uses Distortion in trying to relay his message, since a dead person can’t dream anymore and a skeleton won’t bleed since it has no nervous system. It seems as if the artists uses a pencil to sketch what he’s trying to relay since theres a good use of shadow.

Based on what I see in the art, I think the artist is trying to tell us that the Judicial system is dead and the skull is a representation of it. The skull is dreaming of an equal world but it’s dead and the modern world is filled with blood which represents the killings that go on in the world today.

I think the artist does really well to portray such a deep message and they do it very subtly. It’s a sensitive topic and it could be misinterpreted, however the artist did well to make sure no one misinterprets it. The artist also sketches the skull and everything in the art very well. It’s a 20/20 fir me.

A woman kneels with her knees on the ground, her hair falling to her shoulders and her hands covering her head, as if bracing for impact or hiding away. Behind her are gray, rock-like shapes with the impression of human faces etched onto them. At the bottom left corner, there is a shape of an animal.

The artwork is monochrome, making use of gray, white and black values. But cell shading and scratchy implied texture of the background implies rocks and creates a negative space, further highlighting the crouched subject and drawing attention to her. Despite the simplistic stylistic choices, the rudimentary silhouettes create ambiguity and intrigue.

"Susanna and The Elders" is a story in the old testament. A woman bathes and is spied upon by two men. They then blackmail her, saying that they will accuse her of adultery, if she does not have sex with them. She was bathing in the privacy of her own garden, and the story was set at the time of the Jewish exile in Babylon. Knowing this, the rocky shapes and the faces in the background give a more harrowing tale. Even without a face, the terror and hopelessness of the woman, Susanna, is palpable. This is a story of a woman being forced to choose between death (because at the time, Adultery could be punishable by death; particularly being pelted with stones to death, which makes the depiction of the elders as part of the stone background more harrowing) or rape.

This piece puts the highlight on the women, hiding away the men as part of the background. Focusing on the pain and anguish that women have had to go through at the hands of men who held their power over them. My only criticism is that, like most depictions of Susanna and the Elders, the woman is shown as wilting, as weak, as unwilling or unable to even try fighting back. 17/20.

I see a boy eating a mango under a tree while lying down on the grass. It uses a mixture of different colors such as orange, yellow, green, brown, and blue. The artwork itself is made using a pencil and coloring pencils.

Analyzing the artwork, what caught my eye the most was the use of movement in the artwork. This alone makes the artwork a lot more profound. Another thing I noticed is how the mood is dictated by the color palette of the artwork. Because it uses light and neutral colors, it gives off a more peaceful and serene mood. Lastly, the art style used seems to be that of realism.

Based on the title and notable observations of the artwork, I would interpret it as an artwork of positive emotions. As I said previously, it inflicts positive emotions in the audience such as serenity, relaxation, calmness, and the like. Because of how peaceful the boy eating the mango seems to be. If I were to put it in words, the boy seems like he doesn't have the slightest care in the world except for the ripe mangoes he is eating, under the tree, which if I were to admit is quite peaceful indeed. But digging deeper, I believe that the author is trying to tell us that in life sometimes, not caring and letting things be is the best thing to do to achieve that "peace". We get so stressed out nowadays that we can't even take the time to enjoy simple things in life, such as eating a ripe mango under a tree.

Evaluating the artwork, I would say that it is simple yet beautiful, or rather its simplicity is what made it beautiful. Because of that the artist was not only able to catch my attention but was also able to make me appreciate the beauty in simplicity. That is why I would sincerely give this artwork a 20/20.

There is a road surrounded by buildings. To the far right is a building with 4 windows, and one window by the front with a curtain. There are steps leading up to the door next to it. From across that building, there are people walking on the sidewalk. The vague silhouettes of a man, a woman, and a little girl; a family. Walking the opposite direction figures representing people, perhaps a couple, walking their dog. The family is heading towards a corner with a streetlight/streetlamp. The sidewalk where all the human-like figures are walking on are separated by a long fence. Beyond it is are giant, whisp-like swirls. They are bush-like and reach to barely cover the bottom of a building's window. There is a long building with a door and several windows with planters beneath the windows on the bottom floor. This could be a residential building. Over the top is a spiky piece of dark architecture, connected to more building-like shapes. The cone-roofed building has a cross affixed upon the top, suggesting that it is a church.

This is a pencil sketch, but the pencil is very versatile. There is a range of shades from the monochrome palette in this piece, and the lead is used to make suggestions of shadow upon the road, and used to create texture on the buildings. The lineart is clean and easily separates different elements from each other.

This is a simple landscape pencil sketch of a place in Salford, a city in England. It captures the mundane and calm parts of living in a city for a lot of people - walking with your loved ones, taking a stroll, going to the church - and these are perhaps the only times we are able to take a breath and enjoy life. It shows the peace of being able to walk at your own pace in your own little corner of the world. These are the tiny moments that should be treasured the most.

I think it is important to depict liminal, mundane parts of life as well. These immortalize, to me, the important parts of history - not the wars and the leaders and the governments, but the lives of the people who lived in that time, in that place. What were their daily lives like? What kind of architecture did they have? What were their neighborhoods like? Aside from that, this art piece has a certain quality of longing and nostalgia for me. A yearning for a calmer, slower pace. The nostalgia of not being busy and having all the time in the world to just walk around a part of town. To me, this art piece is a 20/20.

The artist made the subjects of the art more seen in the art by making them have different colors than the background.

According to research the GOMBURZA was against this charged environment that GOMBURZA were accused and found guilty of allegedly orchestrating the Cavite Mutiny of 1872. In this art it shows one of them getting killed but all of them are waiting to get killed by the garote method. The artist is showing us how GOMBURZA got killed.

I can say that this artwork has successfully presented how GOMBURZA was killed and how it happened. The artwork recreation was done really well and I can see the resemblance of the art recreation from the original. I rate this artwork recreation 20/20

He seems to have painted the mask with various colors. He also used a marker to draw on the strokes of black lines on the mask.

The masskara masks are from the Masskara Festival and they are meant to bring a smile on peoples faces. I also see different colors like yellow, red, blue, green, pink, and orange painted on some parts of the legs.

The artist created a center of attention using the manipulation of the sizes. The artist made the legs the center of attention by making it the biggest thing in the painting. The artist also put the legs in the middle of the painting. The use of the colors gives more meaning and detail to the painting like the color red that looks like blood around the painting.

I think that the painting means that someone's legs are fading away because of the fading colors.

Looking at the hand drawn drawing, I can see a woman. The woman looks like a beautiful woman. The woman looks like she's surrounded with stones or rocks.

My analysis for the painting is that the artist didn't use colors but the artist used different shades to make the art look unique. The lightness and darkness of some areas made the drawing simple yet complicated. The shading of the art is balance and the artist gave it depth and texture. The simplicity of the art made it very appealing to the eye.

My interpretation of the art, the art is balance by light and darkness like good vs evil. The woman figure gives a sense of hope and not giving up. While the stones or the darkness represent evilness and deceit. The woman is alone which may also represent loneliness and sadness.

I see that the art work is unique and special. It not like most artworks but it looks great. Seeing this art work may be confusing but it works. I would rate this art 20/20

After observing the artwork for quite some time, I noticed that there are three main divisions in this artwork. The blue part, the red part, and the brown/black part. Inside the blue and red part of the artwork are black "raindrops". Another thing I noticed is the blending of the red and blue parts as if they are part of each other.

When analyzing the artwork, I noticed that the artist utilizes color psychology, since each color seems to inflict a strong and firm emotion to the audience. The medium used for this artwork is paint on canvas and the art style used is either abstract or non-objectivism, but for my analysis, I would say that it is non-objectivism because I do not see a specific subject.

If I were to interpret this artwork, I would start by focusing on the two most prominent colors, which are blue and red. These two often correlate to war and peace which makes sense because if that was the case I would say that the "raindrops" are either bullets or bombs. What further solidifies my interpretation is that the brown/black part looks like houses, so if put together it seems like the artwork is battling between war and peace, and that the houses are being bombed amidst all of that.

For the evaluation, I would say that the artist was able to create a very thought-provoking artwork, especially with how well-executed the color palette is. That is why I will gladly give this artwork a 20/20.

The painting depicts a woman, a child and a figure off to the distance. They seem to be inside an arrow shaped thing which is surrounded by a brown background. There is a text bubble above the woman which could probably mean that she is explaining something to the kid.

The technique he used here was just using crayons and drawing. The drawing seems sketched overall. Some parts of the coloring is sloppy like the brown background having white spots and such.

The painting could be about receiving the news from somebody. It could also be trying the communicate the wonders of a mother telling a story or the news to a child before bedtime. It could mean that the artist is revisiting a warm memory of his mother telling him a story which could explain the brown background.

Overall this is an 17/20, perhaps he could have done better in terms of his technique like his coloring which could have been done better.

At a first glance there's many noticeable things within this piece first of all you can see 2 men talking each other to the right there also seems to be a pillar to a building that they may have came out of. Not just that but in the background you can see trees, a river, mountains, and clouds. The artist drew the center of attention to the 2 men speaking by putting a beam coming from the eyes of one of them while only using a pencil your still able to see which part is darker than the other using shading which is creative while only using a pencil cause there's technically only 2 colors being the white part of the paper and the grey part of the pencil. If were taking the title into consideration the title my own interpretation it would be about two men arguing or debating over a beam and its size. With the beam next to eye of another therefore the beam looking big in the eye of the other one. Overall I would rate this piece a 20/20 even with a pencil only your able to differentiate what's given inside of the piece creatively using shading while only having technically only the pencil as a piece of equipment, not just that its engaging making the audience wonder why there's just a large beam on the eye of the man arguing or talking with another.

The picture depicts a resemblance of human feet but I do not think those feet are human but perhaps maybe the feet of another entity. There are red dots surrounding the feet. The feet are oddly colored with colors of red, yellow, cyan and more. It is also textured weirdly which is unique.

The technique used seems to be painting. It looks to be an combination of abstraction and realism with the use of feet. He uses a variety of colors which makes it look appealing.

Other people may see this painting as a weirdly drawn picture of human feet but I see it as the feet of a God. This is implied by the name of the artwork. This could also mean the God is falling and that the other half of the artwork is missing. I can infer that the God is falling because of the black strands stemming from the feet. What I see is that a God has been slain and the red spots around are drops of his blood and that he is currently falling through time and dimensions hence the white and empty background.

Overall I would give this a 20/20. This painting has many deep meanings within it and many different interpretations can come from it. Technique wise it also very well done.

She is alone and comforting herself by hugging.

The painting uses a unique style of realism, where the subject is in the center, almost like a portrait. The greyness and dullness on her skin shows her emotion and feeling about her situation. The emptiness of the street and background represent how lonely she must feel during this tough time in her life.

I interpret this painting as a way to show how most people who live under poverty feel. How helpless and lonely they are that no one is helping them get out of this tough situation.

The artwork has a deep meaning to an otherwise straightforward piece. Going off the title of the artwork as well which is Good Night Sleep Tight, we see that the artwork is filled with colors and objects being put into one, showing how our imagination can go to places in our dreams.

Personally, I love the artwork, as it was visually appealing, used colors that are light and airy, and provides more space for interpretation depending on how we look at it.

20/20

1. Description
In the artwork, I see a beautiful on attempt on drawing Jose Rizal. I also see that Jose Rizal carrying a piece of paper and that the background is bright red. There are also words on the paper that he is carrying.
2. Analysis
The way the recreational artist (Albert) is showing the center of attention is the fact that the space around the main subject is one simple but strong color. It makes me focus on the thing that is happening instead of its surroundings. But the color red also could imply that it is also something that is related to the subject.
3. Interpretation
If i took the name of the artwork in consideration, the word "Yumaon Ka" translate to passing away. That could be interpreted as Jose Rizal dying for what he has written in the various books he made to expose the abuses of the Spanish Rule during that time. The red background around it could imply the blood that was shed during that time or it could the blood that Jose Rizal shed for the Filipinos to rise up and fight for their country. (Philippine Revolution).
4. Judgement
Overall the artwork was perfectly recreated because of how I managed to get the meaning behind it. When I compared it to the real artwork, I would still say the same thing about it. I could see the effort put in into the details and creative way of recreating it. I would give this recreation a 20/20

The feature of the embroiled crown onto the skeleton’s head adds to the art style. A castle on the background also depicts that correlates on the topic.

The simplicity of the drawing without colors does add to the definition. Even without much color, the detailed figures of the skeleton and the background fills up the space where it can give multiple meanings for just one drawing. It overwhelms the viewer with so many designs in such details.

It looks like a depiction of what hell looks like emphasizing the word “Judicial”. The ruler of Hell would be in the stay of the castle in the background and the skeleton is the guardian of the place which judgement lies on the their hands. Maybe the artist is warning the people if we continue to do bad we would end up in a place where eternal suffering lies.

It has a dark theme yet gives a vivid feeling towards the viewer. The strengths is that it has so many elements and it looks like so much is happening in just one painting. I would say this is a successful work 20/20.

By looking at the work, I can see a dead tree with what seems to be a rope with a wheel attached. But at the same time the rope can look like something used for suicide. This artwork looks nice despite there being only one subject. The colors used in the background help emphasize on the subject by using a light color and placing something dark colored in the middle. I think this work has two meaning, one meaning is that amidst all the despair, we can find happiness which can be seen by the "swing" on the tree. The other one is that, because of all the despair, we have had enough and want to give up. Overall I like this artwork and I want to give this artwork a 20/20

The artwork shows a mix of various plants and flowers, all of which have their own unique colors and shapes. There is a person also present in the artwork, as flowers are coming out of their mouth, also standing in between land on possibly a body of water.

The use of different colors gives emphasis to the flowers and plants. We are able to put our eyes onto that specific part of the piece, making it a primary point of attention for the artwork. The colors were able to compliment one another, despite each of them varying in colors.

My interpretation of this artwork is for humanity to be vocal about conserving our environment. The artwork shows a person possibly speaking, and the things that come out of that person are flowers. This could mean that the person is advocating for us to be more careful and sensitive when it comes to our environment. These actions start through awareness, which is why the person is speaking up about it. From the title itself, "Bloom", these plants, flowers, and our environment will only achieve blooming if it starts with our care.

I believe that the artwork was very easy to look at. It was able to showcase right away the main focus of the artwork, from the title itself, we could assume what to expect and upon seeing the artwork, it was able to correlate to the title, making it successful. I was able to also give it an interpretation.

20/20

From first glance, I can see a woman holding a slipper with one leg up, possibly the leg for the slipper she is holding. There is also a cockroach or "ipis" in the artwork. The woman seems to be wearing a traditional piece of clothing. The word fearless can also be seen in the work.

The artwork seems to be a sketch of a work, heavily making use of a pencil, along with techniques such as shading to fill in spots and create more depth to the work. The artist was able to make us focus on what seems to be a woman looking down on a cockroach, with a slipper at hand. It looks as if there is movement in the piece, as it looks like the woman is about to hit the cockroach with the slipper.

My interpretation of this artwork is how we Filipinos perceive cockroaches in our households. Cockroaches are common in our country, and a common action we do whenever we see one is to get a slipper and to slap one with it, which is seen in the artwork. People are often scared of cockroaches, and whoever has the guts to try and kill one is considered to be brave. This is where the title of the artwork comes into play, "The Dance of a Warrior" refers to when we are in a chase with a cockroach, we try to kill it before it goes elsewhere.

I believe that the artwork is very successful, as I was able to get a message from it right away. The title plays on the action being done in the artwork, and also relates to the artwork.

20/20

This artwork is simple and straightforward. The bottom part of the rectangular prism is darker than the top part. there is a dark circular shape on the top portion of the rectangular prism. It uses straight lines, there are no curved lines. It uses geometric shapes.

In this artwork there is no background and the artwork present is only the subject. The artwork is expressing simplicity and the color is monochrome. The artwork is balanced because everything is symmetrical.

As the title of the art work say "The Future Shape of the World", It is saying that the future shape of our world is a rectangular prism. It is saying that our future would be perfect. Our future would be simple, straightforward, perfect.

The uses of straight lines, simple colors, simple shapes shows what the artist is trying to say through the art. It is representing the artists interpretation of the future shape of the world. I rate this artwork 20/20.

First looking at the artwork at the top-right corner, there is a boat with a human inside. Next, I notice that the body of the work has arms, then around the arms, there is an L and a bug.

In analysis, there is a lot of dead space around the subject of the work. I immediately notice that it has an abstract style. It has a simple arrangement of colors it uses, while the design itself is very complex and unique.

My personal interpretation of the artwork is how this represents someone's journey on boat. The lengthy swirls are the rivers they have crossed, the many stories they have ventured through, the paths that come full circle or intertwined with old adventures. The body having arms suggests the passion of the sailor, that maybe this whole journey is what makes him alive, or what makes him the person he is now. The insect and letter representing the creatures and people they have met along the way. Lastly, the boat having the shape of the house just proves his love of his journey, so much that their boat is now their new home.

Overall, I really appreciate abstract art like this and how much room it makes for us to appreciate and share our own personal perspectives of how we understand and perceive it. 20/20.

The piece depicts a small child and a cockroach. It is pencil drawn on a piece of paper. The small child is also holding a slipper. This artwork feels a bit like Realism considering how life like the child and the cockroach look. The piece feels a bit like it is moving because of how the child appears to be moving and raising a slipper. As for the meaning, it talks about a warrior. Either the child or the cockroach could be the warrior. On one hand, the cockroach will try to dodge the child and on the other, the child will try to hit the cockroach. Both will look as if they’re dancing. The message is hard to tell but for me, it could be about how no matter how big or small you are, you are always fighting something. The two warriors are very different from each other yet they are fighting. It could be for different reasons like the cockroach is fighting for its life and the child is fighting because it doesn’t like the cockroach. Either way, both are warriors and both are fighting. I think this work is successful. The title being vague allows this work to be interpreted in many different ways which makes it something that many can interact with. I give it a 20/20.

The grainy texture of the artwork sets the mood, complimenting the overall darkness and monochromatic characteristic of the work.

Personally what the artwork is trying to tell me is how the artist views the world today. What used to be vivid and colorful, now dark and incomprehendable. Going from this, its a possibility that this could be an exaggeration of maybe the filth and ruin that is now taking the color, the life away from our nature and world overall.

Overall, I like how simply the creation of the art is, yet the whole picture creates such a deep meaning.

In this recreation, there is a kid hugging a very large tree. Not much detail in this art recreation so I can't say much.

Its technique is distortion and is supposed to have an excellent composition of color, where colors are both distinct and indefinite. The emphasis is clear, the boy is the subject. It lacks a background.

This artwork is part of a series about Chisco. Chisco has a father and a dead mother. He's hugging that tree as if it were the last thing he'd do in his life. The tree probably means a lot to him, something that connects with Chisco's mother.

I think the biggest strength of this recreation is the way the pencil smoothens and blends itself into the artwork. It creates semi-appropriate shadows, but the shorts of Chisco have ambiguous lighting. Is his shorts facing the front, or facing the back? The light is scattered from different places. It lacks depth due to this mistake. I believe one pencil and one sheet of paper were made with this recreation. In terms of strategy, props to the artist. In terms of everything else, I believe this could be better. I rate this recreation a 10/20

At first glance, I have a difficult time describing the art. By the name of the art, it would really puzzle my perspective of the art. It caught my attention in another level. The art comprises of "dabs" of dots that I believe represents the name of the art, ulan or raindrops. Also, I see varying strokes in the art. It was a combination of a painting & a quarter measure of a drawing. There are also quadrilaterals underneathe.

As I analyze this art, the elements inside create emphasis on one another having present contrast into the subject. This can be evident through the "black spots" and them overlapping over the transition of colors which show movement. Meanwhile, the artform created beneathe was very light to be seen visibly as it's overpowered above by solid hard colored background.

Interpreting the art, what drew onto me most was the activity or behavior of the droplets.

A road that leads to buildings of many that seem to hold people, in other terms, these buildings look to be residential. In the foreground, we can see a building that has five windows and a doorway, and it is located by the curb of the street. The doorway is raised from the ground because you can see there are steps leading up to the door. To the right, across the building with five windows, you can see there is a portion of an edifice. This is only a part of the edifice, and we can only visibly see its arch top window. The building is surrounded by shrubbery. The building and shrubs are enclosed by a fence. Between these two buildings, we can see that there are individuals and an animal present. Specifically, we can see that there are five people and a dog. Two of these humans and the dog are on the sidewalk, while the other three are on the road. We can also see a streetlamp. Further into the piece, we have another building. This building is longer than the other two (from our perspective). We can visibly see that there are eight windows in this structure, yet some are covered by the “greenery,” so we don’t see the rest. We can only see one doorway in the structure. Additionally, the building adorns six chimneys, and there could even be more from other angles we don’t see. Beyond the structure, we can see a spire. This spire is tall and darker compared to the rest of the components of the art piece. Next to that spire, we can see that a cross is exhibited by another roof spire. Based on the cross, you can assume that the structure is a church. Overall, the buildings exhibited in the artpiece are of Western architecture, more notably, you can assume it is from somewhere in England.

The piece is monochrome because it is made through mainly and only pencil. This characteristic makes certain details more prominent. The technique of using darker shades for certain components certainly draws the viewers eyes to those components. Although the piece is monochromatic, we can see that there is depth due to shadows and different shades and pressures of the pencil. Other than the shadows, we can discern that there are different levels: foreground, middleground, and background. This is achieved through the sizes of the buildings. For example, we can see that the building with five windows is almost as tall as the spire in the background, but in reality, this building is way smaller. But we end up perceiving that the five windowed building is closer to the viewer.

I believe that the original artist wanted to capture a moment in time. The scenery is not something extraordinary or significantly astonishing, yet it holds a certain charm to it. I say this because it showcases what a mundane day in a place in England could be. The artwork acts as something that will hold and preserve the memories of that place in that certain time because we all know that life and things in life change whether it be drastic or not. Change is always present. Therefore, I believe that the artist wanted to stop time at that moment and savour the feeling. Another take I can come up with is the representation of Christianity or the church in everyday life. The Church is not fully shown in the art, yet this can represent how we don’t often mind or see Christianity in life, yet it has integrated itself into our culture and lives.

The artwork is effective in expressing emphasis and subordination of the components. This is like the dimensions present. I believe that although pencil is used, the art is still versatile and interesting to look at. I like the artwork because it is not just one dimensional, it has layers to it, and Jon Marco was able to express that in his recreation. I like how even if it is just pencil produced, it does not look underdone. Additionally, the piece can be very much interpreted as preserving this singular moment in time, so it is successful in the field. My overall numerical rating for this is 20/20.

Looking at the artwork, I first see a house that is right next to a tree. As I look at the background I see numerous dots surrounding the house.

From the title itself, I could see why it is called "Pop Art" because it is simple yet the dots make the artwork pop. The roof and the smoke like effect of the chimney has an empty space giving your eyes a rest from all the dots you see. It has a simple arrangement of colors that completes the simplicity of the art.

My interpretation of this artwork is the dots that you see represents the pollution and harmful gases that a chimney can produce. It shows that a simple smoke from a chimney can spread rapidly across the environment.

Overall, this artwork was beautifully made and with that I rate this artwork a 20/20.

Art Critique on "The Parable of the Mote and the Beam" by JO, Kiara D.

There are two figures, men in robes, within the piece. One of the men seems to be gesturing towards the other. This man has a sort of beam coming out from his eye. Both the men’s hands and disposition seems to suggest they are having a certain discussion that led them to be that expressive with gestures. Behind them, you are able to see columns in the classical Greek/Roman style. Beyond that, the background elements are composed of clouds, a river, and green flora— trees, grass, shrubs. Although, they aren’t represented as green in the artwork itself, for it is all just monochromatic. Within the depths of the background, you can discern a mountain in the distance. The men are “set apart” from the other components in the art, for they are standing on land that they, other than some shrubs, exclusively stand on.

The creator was able to draw attention towards the men in the piece due to the emphasis of placement and darkness of the shades. Once again, the piece is monochromatic, so there is a need for difference in shade and pressure used in order to express emphasis. There is not much colour to invoke any emotions through hues or the like, but the piece was able to capture the significant area, the conversation between the two men.

If we were to reference the name of the piece, “The Parable of the Mote and the Beam,” then I would interpret it using the prior knowledge on this Biblical parable. The parable questions humans in their way of examining oneself in relation to others. Do we value ourselves more than others? Do we judge others without looking at our own faults, our own shortcomings? Are we that hypocritical and self-righteous that we go on life like we have no impediments? The parable encourages us to look at ourselves, our hearts and minds, before we critique others in their ways. Knowing this, we can see the representation of the artwork to the meaning. The person that is gesturing towards the other is trying to get a “mote” (speck of dust) out of the other’s eye, yet he fails to see the larger beam in his own eye. He sees the error in the other man’s eye, yet he can not see his own.

The use of pencil was able to express the scenario successfully. In regards to the meaning, you can fathom the deeper connotation of the piece. The beam through the eye may not be a common sight to hold; therefore, this encourages the viewer to ponder on the meaning behind the artwork if ever they do not know the parable. My numerical rating of this piece is 20/20.

Art Critique on "The Tomorrow Children" (JO, Kiara D.) by: CLAVERIA, Jaime Miguel A.

The artwork depicts 2 women dressed in green uniforms with a red star on their caps. Both women seem to be holding each other in an embrace like manner. Additionally, there is a pink flower in the middle of the two figures with its vines branching out. Lastly, I can see small yellow petals that are found scattered across the painting.

Analyzing the piece, I can see asymmetrical balance in that both sides look equal in visual weight even if the two sides of the art are not identical to one another. This is because of the elements such as the small yellow petals and branching vines which help in equalizing the balance. The spacing of the art is proper in that both the positive spaces and the negative spaces help in emphasizing the subjects even more. The proportions of the art also help in emphasizing the subject in that the biggest elements are the two women, which is emphasis of the art, the flower being the second largest, and the rest are smaller elements such as the vines and the petals. In the painting as well, I can see variety in terms of shapes and color which make the painting aesthetically pleasing to look at. These shapes include the standard geometric shapes such using circles for parts of the flower, rectangles and squares for the body and using organic shapes such as petals, vines, stars, and leaves which further augment the appearance of the flower, the women, and the overall art piece. Lastly, the colors give the painting a rich, vibrant tone and further emphasizes the subjects and the flower at its center. The pink flower immediately catches my attention due its very vibrant nature. The Subjects green uniforms give the painting a contrast which also catches my attention and makes me notice the two girls in the picture. The red star on their caps also catches my attention and gives me an interpretation of the artwork which I will discuss later. To top it all of, the yellow petals and the green vines add more depth and more vibrance to the piece.

Now, my interpretation of the painting, based on the elements I have witnessed, is that the art's theme is about fighting against the oppression and mistreatment in our society through peace and love. There are a few reasons why I say this. Firstly, the subjects of the painting are females, with a green attire that has a red star on its cap. Females are usually mistreated and oppressed in our society. They are usually looked down upon and their rights are not respected by those around them. The red star on theirs caps seem to me like they are communists due to the communists having a flag that has a red star in the middle. The green attire also adds to this in that a green attire symbolizes standard military clothing. Now, the reason as to why I say that they are fighting these oppressions and mistreatment through peace and love is because one of the elements in the art is a big pink flower which is at the center of the girls. Pink usually symbolizes love and this lead me to have the impression that what the two girls want is that people will love each no matter their religion, ideals, color, and background. Additionally, we can see that both girls are hugging each other which further assert the fact that they want peace and love, Lastly, the color yellow of the petals symbolize happiness and friendship which will be the result if we actually exterminate the issues of oppression and mistreatment in our society.

Overall, this painting is not only stunning to look at but also has a very deep meaning behind it. The painting successfully showcases to me the problem of oppression and mistreatment in our society and what we should instead be doing, which is to love everyone equally, no matter who they are. What I liked the most in the artwork is that theres not too much colors, just colors that will help give the art its deep meaning. If there are too many different colors such as say blue, orange, purple, and many more, then the paintings meaning will be muddles and will be less obvious to its audience. My rating for this extraordinary piece would be a 20/20.

The first thing that I noticed in this artwork are the black droplets. If you take a closer look, you will also see the blue and red blending together in the middle of the artwork.

This artwork does not have a main subject, so I'm assuming this is a non-objectivism art. As the blue and red blends together, it created a purple tone in the middle of the art. The bottom part of the artwork is less noticeable since the blue and red is overpowering the soft brown color.

My interpretation of this artwork is that the black dots represent the raindrops. Due to the force of the rain, the raindrops spread on the ground. Blue represents the sky, and the purple represents the sky being dark since it is raining.

Overall, this artwork was nicely painted and with that I rate this a 18/20.

Firstly, I see a very colorful plant. Looking closer, above the blue pit is a small child grasping the base of the flower as if its a balloon. Looking closer, there is also another child resting at the top part of the plant as if its a hammock under the shade.

The artist brings focus on the plant with the use of proportions, making it way larger as compared to the two children. In addition, other than the flower and the bottom section of the work, there is nothing more but dead space, emphasizing the life and color of the flower.

I personally feel that this artwork is trying to convey the beauty of life, specifically the ability to flourish and the access to growth of plant life from the ground up. In symbolism of the two children, I believe that they are water--explaining as to why the child is keeping the plant up, since without it, the plant would shrivel and wither away. This highlights the overall importance of water, as it is the source and basis of all life, the sole reason as to how these flowers could "BLOOM" in the first place.

I really love this artwork, and especially with the meaning, makes me appreciate it so much. It uses an artstyle not too realistic and not too cartoony, making it so appealing to me. 20/20.

The children seem to be Asian. They also are wearing hats with a star on the front.

The technique here is fine, the artist recreated the art using a pencil. He makes use of shading to correctly identify the hair of the women. The lines are defined and not that sloppy, the form is clear. Unfortunately it seems that the drawing is lacking color.

The title of the artwork "The Tomorrow Children" can be seen as children being the future of society. The stars on the hats remind of Communist countries like the USSR, China and Vietnam and in those countries they taught their children from a very young age about how they are going to be the future of their countries. The two women could also be seen as freedom fighters for their country as they could be fighting for their tomorrow.

Overall, I'd give this painting a 20/20 I really enjoy the Communist looking women and that this painting has a really deep meaning.

It seems to be sunny, the attracting colors used in the background make the drawing seem bright.

It seems to me that the recreation artist used crayons, this makes the drawing have a rough affect. Especially because of how crayons don’t cover ground 100% leaving in some uncolored areas. This adds to the rough texture of the drawing, even though it’s seems bright.

The contrast between the light background and the dark almost covered in shadows character implies a deeper meaning. It could be something like “even though the buildings are bright, they don’t welcome. The position of the arms like it’s cold adds to that interpretation.

The main lines of the drawing are defined, the contrast between the use of the two materials are clear.

The drawing contains a boy in it who seems to be hugging a tree, the tree seems to be one of the big parts that makes this drawing. There’s not a lot in this drawing but because of that, it’s idea is clear.

It’s pretty simple overall, the drawing is black and white with no colors. Yet even though it has no colors, the details are not lacking in this drawing. The person who recreated the art knows how to shade and even used smudges to their advantage.

Due to the the colorlessness of the drawing, it seems kinda dark. What I think may be the meaning behind this drawing is an attachment between the two subjects. Perhaps the tree is a comfort for the boy, that could explain why he’s hugging it deeply.

Overall I’d give the drawing a 18/20, it’s a bit messy but it adds to theme of the drawing.

Within this artwork, 2 ladies are dressed in a green uniform with a singular red star on their caps. The intimacy between the two figures suggests that they are embracing each other for a particular reason. Their eyes and facial expressions are also dead and emotionless. In front of them you are able to see a beautiful flower blooming and branching out, ultimately covering them. Beyond this, small yellow petals are also scattered across the painting.

In this artwork, I believe that unity is the most prevalent because of the harmonious use of colors, space, proportion, and alignment towards the main subject. The colors of the artwork are visually pleasing and the way they blend with each other is beautiful. The artist creates a center of interest by emphasizing the two ladies in the middle with it's large proportion and strong colors.

In my eyes, almost every single part of this piece has meaning behind it. The communist uniform that the two ladies are wearing represents the women who are oppressed and maltreated within a communist society. Usually when it comes to two different people their looks would be different but in this painting, they are oddly similar. It begs the question to how they were raised in a communistic society? Why do they look exactly the same despite being different people? Are they content with the lives their living? Why are they embracing each other, are they afraid of something? The painting encourages us to look deeper through the hidden issues that underlie in a communist society. The big pink flower could be a representation of the artist's support towards the maltreated and oppressed women of a communist society. The use of the color pink symbolizes the love and peace that the artist wanted to portray no matter the labels of people. The warm embrace of the two ladies asserts that they yearn for peace and love within their community. And finally, the scattered yellow petals show the hope they have and the happiness they desire.

The recreation of this artwork is perfect, it is beautifully done and manages to exhibit the depths of it's meaning in the original artwork. The piece chosen was also timely as despite it being a few years old, it's still extremely relevant in society. My overall numerical rating for this alluring recreational work is 20/20.

There is a singular figure in this painting, seemingly holding a slipper could be attempting to kill the cockroach on the floor. There is also the word fearless written on the bottom of the sketch.

The sketch that was made uses a pencil to fill in spaces that gives more depth within the work. The style to sketch the painting is monochromatic, so there is a need for shading and pressure to be able to provide more emphasis on the aspects of the painting. Movement is also present in the sketch because of how the subject looks like it's about to flatten the cockroach using her slipper.

Since the creator's nationality is Filipino, I took this as a reference to how Filipinos usually act when there are cockroaches in our house and the fact that our main weapon in exterminating them is our slippers. The word fearless implies that one who kills a cockroach is one that is hailed as a person who knows no fear. The title of the artwork "The Dance of a Warrior" could argue that one dances like a warrior when chasing a cockroach, a warrior that hunts it's prey down without rest. I think what the artist was trying to communicate to us was that Filipinos are one of the most fearless people when it comes to killing cockroaches. It is common for us to face these adversaries on the daily basis.

Overall, this sketch was successful in portraying the message of the original artwork. The message was simplistic but relatable to me. I would give it a 20/20 for it's uniqueness and creativity.

A big tree, green grass, and a boy in a red shirt and blue pants hugging the tree are the few things you can quickly observe. I believe the materials used in the recreation are pencils, crayons, and markers.

The artist used a lot of green for the leaves and the grass, but the colors did not significantly complement the artwork. The main interest of the artwork is the boy who seems to be hugging the tree trunk. This piqued my curiosity and made me simply wonder why the boy was hugging the tree.

A lot of messages run through my thoughts when looking at the artwork. Emotionally, the message of the artwork is to appreciate creation. This is a fitting message of when our world suffers from pollution, deforestation, and climate change. Valuing every tree in the world should be everyone's purpose.

Despite the lack of color in the work, I believe in the magic of simplicity. Though the art was not appropriately conveyed through colors, it could still express the message clearly. It tries to share with everyone their message that "a tree can save a lot."

This artwork can still be considered successful because of what it wants to express. As its strength is its message while the weakness is the color, I would like to give this still a 19/20.

The artwork displays the three martyrs, GomBurZa, entering their tragic fate. One of the priests is already seated and attached to the garrote whilst the other two are lined up for their turn. In the background, you can see a traditional Filipino house and a gate or a wall. The art gives a glimpse into a part of our history and culture. Additionally, I can see that through the subject and other components in the art, there is a letter G being formed.

In the artwork, you can say that there is emphasis on the subject due to the background not being too busy. You can also say that the shapes and placement of the elements are helpful in expressing the letter G. For example, the way the other two priests are lined up and the other is tied to the garrote forms a big part of the letter G, but without the other components, you may not be able to see the whole thing.

What I think this piece is telling me, apart from GomBurZa which are the symbols and starter points of the coming revolution, is that we have to prioritise our past. You can see that there is emphasis on the subject, therefore, you can say, the artist is emphasising our culture and history. And we can awaken that fire in ourselves, if we look back.

I think the artwork is successful in getting its point across. Additionally, you can see that the end product of the overall piece, it still exhibits the letter G. I think that there is harmony in the colours used, for my eyes are not strained looking at it. Overall, I will give this a 20/20.

Above the sea I see the dark sky colliding with the white clouds.

As I analyze this art, I noticed that the artist only used two colors which are black and white. This art is abstract, and as I look at it more, I noticed that the subject isn't recognizable.

I have 2 interpretations for this art. My first interpretation is that this art is about the dark side of the sea since it features the color black. The color makes the art look more mysterious so the art can also be about the mysterious side of the sea.

Overall, I would say this art was made with lots of effort and because of the abstract art I had a lot of interpretation of this art and with that I rate it a 18/20

The obstacles and desires of life can be compared to the mountain, in this gradient finish.

There are three people sitting together, one seems to be talking about how she wants her house to be and the other two who are wearing something on their head just listens to her. One of them is also sitting in a basin filled with water. These three people are all inside a small house. On the other hand, there is also one person outside the house in a form of a shadow that seems to be painting something.

Moreover, the artist used distortion in creating the art as he created humans with faces that are not realistic or seems to be distorted. It consists of bright and vibrant colors which makes it appealing for children.

The art shows how people are suffering from poverty which results to them not having a good house. Because of this poverty, the kids may be talking about their dream house in the future. Furthermore, it also shows that even if their parents who is in the shadows is working really hard, he or she doesn’t earn enough to given his or her children what they want.

If what I said is really the true meaning of the art, then I think it was successful in showing the social issue reflected in their contemporary art. Personally, I prefer an art that is created with realism that’s why I don’t like it that much. However, looking at it in an objective perspective, I do like the art as it has a great meaning and lesson. Because of all these, I rate the art a 20/20.

A plethora of organic lines form the various shapes that make up this artwork. There is a sleeping head in the foreground which is, simultaneously, an island. What would be the hair, is formed by roots, trees and mountains. There are red swirls rising upwards on either side of the island he,ad. There birds above this island which take the form of clouds, they are watering the land with watering cans.

This artwork appears to be an abstraction as it depicts its subjects in a manner that makes the contents appear detached from reality. The different subjects all have dual representations, such as the island-head, the mountain-hair, and the cloud-birds. Their shapes are distinguished from one another through the use of contrasting colors, appropriate for the subjects; yellows for the skin/ground, reds for the trees/hair, and blues for the clouds/birds.

The entire work, as suggested by its title, "Good Night, Sleep Tight", seems to be a representation of dreaming. Dreams are strange things born of the weary, sleeping mind. They're an altogether surreal experience brought by the mind twisting memories and emotions into a strange little world for a brief moment of time. Abstraction is one of the perfect ways to achieve this weirdness, this disconnection from actual reality. The island-head, with its environs and climate, appears to be a representation for the fertile ground upon which these dreams form and take root.

This is an excellent work of art which, I believe represents its idea extremely well. Furthermore, the artist's use of the chosen medium, coloring pencils, is superb in execution. The lines are clean, the spacing is just right and the coloring is done well. 20/20

The piece of art is a vertical rectangular prism, a geometric form. There is nothing to see because the background is blank. internal of the prism. A circle has shading around it. The prism is divided into two parts, one of which is shaded and the other of which is not.

This sculpture, which resembles a rectangular prism, is more heavily influenced by geometric forms. Its static nature is shown by the well defined lines, none of which are character lines. The artwork doesn't have any movement. The piece contains a lot of empty space. Since everything is balanced, the artwork is symmetrical. The piece just has light and blackness; there are no colors.

Based on the composition of this piece of art and its title, I think it's attempting to convey that everything in the world will be calculated in the future. In a world dominated by math and science, objectivity would be the only thing that mattered. The usage of simply geometric lines demonstrates how everything would be drab and plain if subjective factors were ignored. Furthermore, it might serve as a futuristic representation of the minimalist trend that is now popular.
I would say that I rate this drawing a 20/20!

The colors used also makes it more realistic because it was able to harmonize well with the drawing which added more detail to the art.

The art shows the issue of the destruction of our environment just to modernize the world. Two stand to the left and one sits, strapped onto a garrote chair with his head wrapped in a sack. There is a modest hacienda upon a hill in the background.

The work is done is well-detailed, being done in a realistic, if stylized, manner. The art places appropriate emphasis on the main subjects in the foreground through the use of size and scale, conveying a sense of distance. The colors used are primarily warmer hues in light tones, with a few cooler colors of similar tone.

The work itself seems to be a piece meant to commemorate the martyrdom of GOMBURZA; three Filipino Catholic friars who were executed by Spanish colonizers for their alleged involvement in the Cavite Mutiny. I believe it could also be interpreted as a reminder of the injustice born of oppression.

The concept of the art is solid and it does indeed convey its message well. The linework is pleasing but the perspective, shading, and coloring are far from the best. Still, the effort is commendable and the end result is something I can appreciate.

16/20

Near one hand is a circle with the letter L, and then near the other arm is a flying insect.

The work is mostly white with the pop of color coming from the yellow of the circles and the greenish-blue tint of the curved shape. The coloring technique for the circle with letter L in it and the flying insect is smooth, but the scratchy style used for the curved shape is very textured, implying turbulence and messiness. There is some yellow color bleeding into the twisting lines and the greenish-blue.

"Layag" means to set sail; to go on a voyage. The curved shape is meant to emulate a wave. The flying insect represents the concept of journeying or travelling. The scratchiness of the wave represents how scary or strange a journey or voyage may feel to someone. The boat is tiny in comparison to the wave/water, representing how we may internally feel about going on our own adventure in the world. The twisting, curling lines show that all of life's journeys and adventures have no linear, direct or straightforward path.

This artpiece is pleasing to the eyes and has a sense of wonder and whimsy. The simplicity is used to create intrigue and mystery.

20/20

There are are three priests, one of them is being killed using a “garrote”, while the other two are standing behind each other next to him. There is also a large house and something that looks like a shack behind them. Moreover, the artist used distortion to create the artwork as it looks somewhat blurred especially the face which makes it looks less detailed and less realistic. The colors used also makes the theme of the art from the past which depicts that this scene may have happened in the past.

Based on my knowledge about the GOMBURZA, the art shows the issue in the past wherein Filipino’s can be falsely accused by Spaniards about something they didn’t do without any investigation. This also tells us that the Spaniards see themselves as superior to us Filipino’s. Furthermore, it shows how bad the injustice in our country before. It also shows that Filipino’s don’t have any power before as they can be charged with death penalty without any investigation happening.

The art was very successful in telling us its meaning as most Filipino’s know what GOMBURZA is and what happened to it, therefore showing a scene of them being killed will definitely tell us what it means. I like the art really much as it has a really great meaning and the way distortion the artist used distortion is perfect for the meaning of the art. Therefore, I rate it a 20/20.

The artwork immediately drew my attention to a solitary boat sailing across the sea. The waves, depicted in a staircase-like pattern, created a sense of gradual progression and order within the vast expanse of the ocean.

The composition is divided, with the top half mostly white, giving a sense of purity and serenity. The lower half is dominated by varying shades of blue with hints of green, portraying the calmness of the sea.
The distortion style employed in this artwork is notable. Light tones dominate the paper, with occasional touches of deep blue that add depth and contrast. The gentle, smooth lines throughout the piece contribute to the overall feeling of peace. The direction of these lines, all leading towards the boat and the sky, conveys a sense of uniformity and purpose. The visual balance between the water, boat, and sky creates a balanced composition.

The title, "Journey," hints at a deeper narrative within the artwork. It suggests that life itself is a voyage, often in uncertainty and obscurity, much like the misty sea. However, just as the little ship finds its way into the calm waters, it symbolizes the idea that in life, one can navigate through the challenges and uncertainties to eventually find a path of peace.

In summary, this artwork is a beautiful representation of the journey through life's uncertainties, depicted in a calming and harmonious manner, where the ship's progress becomes a metaphor for finding serenity amidst the unknown.

The artwork in general conveys its meaning properly, but I would say that the blending of the colors could use improvement. For instance, the wave by the boat is the same in height, which gives confusion in scaling. Nonetheless, it has served its purpose.

19/20

The art is also done in a black and white color scheme mostly shading makes the art stand out.

The art is done with what looks like few art materials, pencil and paper. Being done with just black pencil and paper makes the art have a darker theme to it. They are stuck in this position but still want to break out of it, represented by the broken parts of the chain.

There is a charcoal or pencil portrait of a woman as the centerpiece. She is holding a blank expression.

This is a relatively simple piece, being one subject put into focus with no additional background elements, done in monotone. Thus, there is great emphasis placed on the subject. One might consider this artwork's style to be a form of distortion. The original work was a more-or-less realistic portrait in charcoal, but this recreation exaggerates the facial features to such a degree as to become an entirely new style.

The piece evokes a sense of hopelessness. The monotone colors are perfect for setting such an atmosphere, especially in conjunction with a Picasso-like style of distortion. With the woman's blank expression, this recreation seems to be an attempt at expressing the general sense of hopelessness that the average person feels on occasion as they slog through day-to-day life.

I would say that this recreation is excellent as it achieves something that the original inspiration does not. It succeeds in being surprisingly profound and evokes a certain bleak emotions from those who behold it.

20/20

The first thing that comes to my mind is "Ibong Adarna". It resembles a lot to it's colorful elements. Also, it reminds me of aquatic plants and if we were to separate them, they would be able to create their own rt as the leaves differ and have their various meaning. Outlining of leaves found highlighted to emphasize contrast in color, size & shape. Something that I almost missed would be the person under flying the kite-like.

Analyzing the art, it used a positive space to focus the subject. There wasn't a hint of Repetition but made variety and rhythm harmonious. It had organic shapes underlining distortion.

In my interpretation, the art's theme means having confidence & freedom of expression. The person in the center represents every individual who face self-doubt or fear in the society. zit shows us that there is hope and that we can rise to the top.

The entire creation symbolizes optimism as a whole. It makes us realize that we can fly & spread our wings up high. Out of 20, I would rate this a solid 20.

A figure in a t-shirt and paths clings to the trunk of a tree. There are leaves peaking in from the top of the artwork and the ground is made up of circular shapes.

The artwork has a dark tone with a monochrome color palette; composed with black, gray and white colors. The centerpiece of the work is still highlighted by the shadow and line art. The lines are soft and faint.

Chisco is clinging to the tree desperately like he has an emotional connection to it. The artwork also has a tone of nostalgia and longing to it.

It is a simple artwork, but the emotions behind the rudementary work makes it pleasing to me. 20/20

This artwork seems to be based on a portrait of a woman. There's not a ton of detail. The woman's face appears to be distorted.

The technique used by the artist seems to be "distortion" due to the face of the woman being disproportional.

I believe that this is a simple "distortion" portrait. Using distortion, the artist wants to convey a message to women. Don't judge the outside but judge the inside is what I get from the picture due to the woman not looking as beautiful.

Overall I'd rate this art a 16/20. I believe the artist can improve the distortion technique. It can be cleaner and look even better once polished up.

It looks like they are wearing military uniforms.

The artist used a pencil to draw this artwork.

This artwork depicts two arms being bound by chains with one of them being broken.

This artwork seems to be monochrome, only being drawn with a pencil. This artwork shows the limitations of privileges. While privilege often refers to advantages, there are limitations to such privileges.

Overall I would give this artwork a 20/20 because of how neatly and elegantly it was drawn. The drawing is simple yet meaningful. I could also clearly understand the meaning behind the work based on the title and how it was drawn.

Art Critique on "Chains of Privilege" by Jon Marco P. Guancia

I see a pair of hands chained tightly. The hands struggle to break free. One of the links to the chain breaks. I can see slightly that the hands are bruised around the chains, signifying that the hands have been chained for an extended period of time.

I would say that the hands are very proportionally accurate, with the creases and wrinkles. The shadowing of some aspects of the hand gives more depth to its appearance and provides more of a realistic feel. The chains around the hand are very detailed and it looks very well drawn with the perspective of how you would some parts of the links, although the chains that do not intertwine with the hand look simple, it still has what it is trying to portray.

This artwork represents freedom, or at least what we try to achieve. The hands that constantly try to break free are the same as the people trying to advocate for freedom, trying to break from the “chains of society”. We constantly try to break these chains to be free, to do what we want to do without any oppression from anyone. Although I believe that the “chains” are there for a reason (the reason being that it is what keeps us from potentially harming ourselves or others), I believe that it should be known to the masses that if you ever feel discriminated against or be oppressed, fight for what is right.

This piece is a 20/20, the topic is very relevant and quite controversial as to what “freedom” really is but despite that, it gives what it needs to give. It holds a lot of resemblance to slavery acts which still happens to this day and this artwork clearly shows that freedom is for all and everyone has the right to freedom.

I see a lady getting ready to attack its foe. The foe being the massive cockroach crawling towards her. She gets in a battle stance, lifting up her skirt, and preparing to swing her slipper and smash the cockroach while trying to make a straight and composed expression, hence it is called “fearless” at the bottom.

The art is monotone with only a pencil for its medium. The proportions of the lady are realistic and how her body bends and forms is also quite realistic. This piece is balanced because the two subjects are centered.

As I have said that the girl maintains a straight poker face, I believe that it is about facing your fears. How everyone constantly runs away from what they are scared of and end up succumbing to that enclosed box and being distraught about it. This art piece shows that we should be “fearless”, be the person that is not scared of anything and break free from that box.

The piece for me is a 20/20, it has a great message to everyone to inspire to become “fearless” and I really like the presentation of the insight. The artwork is straightforward and literal but holds a lot of underlying significance and meaning.

I see two pale women, pale and almost gray, with black hair, and white eyes. They wear somewhat dark green clothing with a red star at the front of their hat. They hold onto each other quite tightly with a beautiful and wild pink flower growing between the both of them. The flower itself spirals all over the place, covering their faces with its leaves and petals, and its vines extending out around them. The yellow that is in the painting could be pollen from the flower that spreads across the artwork.

The colors were contrasting which would give the subjects more of a unique look and give proper emphasis on their respective appearance. How the clothing of the girls are darker shade of green while the plant was more of a blue-ish green which helps differentiate the two. The bright colors like the pink and red definitely give more life and don't become monotone. It's also quite balanced in terms of the arrangement where the two girls and the plant are both in the center.

I believe that the two girls represent people that have gone through a lot of difficult times in their lives. Dealing with sexist treatment or just discrimination and oppression in general. This flower represents their strength and courage and sheer will to still come out strong, to still be great. That if we had each other, our family, our friends, even our neighbors and community, then we would all stand strong together like the two girls.

I give the artwork a 20/20, the social issue that it tackles is very relevant still and the portrayal is also beautiful. I believe that it presents what it is trying to say, its purpose, in a very literal and figurative way at the same time. Complex but simple.

Art Critique on "YUMAON KA" by: CLAVERIA, Jaime Miguel A.

In this artwork, what I see is a person in black and white clothing and a brown looking structure at the back. There's also a black hat on the brown object. Lastly, I notice that the whole background is color red.

Analyzing the artwork, it makes good use of space in that the negative spaces help emphasize the subject more. It makes it so that we focus on the person seemingly leaning forward from a brown object. Additionally, the colors of white, black, and brown make the subject stand out from red background which makes my eyes fixated at the middle of artwork, giving emphasis. Lastly, the proportion is used properly in that the person is the biggest of the elements followed by the brown structure and then the hat.

My interpretation of the art is that it has something to do with death. Based on the title of the art being "YUMAON KA", it basically means to die. The red background also adds to this in that red is also a representation of death. I assume that this death is being referred to the person wearing black and white. This person, to me, seems like a prominent figure, specifically a writer. This is because the brown structures have writings on them. The figure could even be Jose Rizal because of not only the writings and his attire, but also his hat which he tended to wear most of the time. The figure also seems to be stuck or tied to the brown structure which correlates even more to the subject being Jose Rizal because Jose Rizal was first tied at his hands then was shot from behind by a firing squad. With this in mind, I believe the art is telling us that our national hero died because of the truth he gave to us. The writings on the brown structure symbolizes his writings such as the Noli me Tangere which told people of the realities and truths of what's happening in our country then and he payed the price by being executed.

Overall, I liked the artwork. What I liked the most is the simplicity of the art with having barely any elements present. This causes me to immediately focus on the subject and what its trying to say. I'd rate this art a 20/20.
