You must be able to make smart decisions for yourself and your team when chasing goals. It can be the different between moving right along towards your goals and starting back from square one.
Action Steps:
I will try to listen to my gut and my heart when making decisions, as well as my team. I will seek advice from elders that I respect when I am struggling. As a last resort, I will ask myself what Jesus would do.
Timeline:
Week 1- start by trying to really gauge how good my gut is in making the right decision and try to get to know myself, what I know, and what I don't better
Week 2- step outside of my comfort zone to ask my teammates, coaches, etc. when I am struggling with a question.
Week 3- start reading the bible more, and when I am really not sure, derive from my better connection with God what Jesus would do

Reflecting helps you to analyze what you have been doing and pinpoint flaws, so you can do it better in the future.
Action Steps:
I will try to set aside time to reflect every week. I will try to analyze which decisions were good, which were bad, and what you would do differently now. This good habit will help me keep track of how I am combating my bad habits.
Timeline:
Weeks 1&2- set aside 10 minutes every Friday to just look back and think about my week and how it went (just think about it)
Weeks 3&4- move from just thinking about it, to writing down all of the things I did well (start positive)
Week 5- write down the things I did well, as well as the things I did not
Week 6- in addition to the rest, decide how I am going to attack next week to do better

Responsiveness

You can have a very resourceful team, but if it is not open and cohesive, you are limited in what you can accomplish. Even if a team is resourceful, you have to be able to communicate and understand each other if you want to benefit from it.
Action Steps:
I will try to get better at active listening and constructive criticism by having routine opportunities for my tennis team to voice their opinions on what the coach and I have told them. I will keep a note on the clip board to remind me and get the team to remind me if I forget. I will also try to take notes to use when I am giving constructive criticism to help me understand how to help them.
Timeline:
Week 1- introduce the new plan to let everybody voice their opinion that wants to
Week 2- make it more routine and make everyone say something
Week 3- we will be at the point where they can start initiating and reminding me if I forget
