Moana is portrayed as an independent women and is determined to save people on her own and she knows that she does not need anyone. She always does her own thing and does what she wants and faces the consequences. Like in Self reliance it says "Nothing can bring you peace but yourself. Nothing can bring you peace but the triumph of principles." meaning that nothing and no one is going to help you be at peace you have to be able to do that on your own because that's where it truly comes from. In this song it talks about not needing anyone and having to live on your own because at the end of the day you only have yourself and not anyone.
