The helplessness of the Met Police to intervene with gang wars and knife and gun crime in my community. Not enough support is provided and lives are lost in between interventions. People are scarred from being exposed to such violence around them. However, this affluence also breeds complacency: despite living on the stunning Pacific, and the ocean being a source of wealth and employment for the city, the consumption of single use plastic, and subsequent lack of recycling and dumping of single use plastic, means there is a high volume of plastic pollution - from plastic bags, to microbeads to bottles etc. This issue is exacerbated by a high volume of tourists, uneducated about how to dispose of their rubbish.
