Iqbal chapter 11 by Stacy Skinner [White MS]

hapter 11 Sometimes people wish for something that they think will improve their lives, but when they finally get what they want they need to adjust their new way of life. Tell what the children wished for to improve their lives and tell how they reacted when they finally got what they wanted. Tell how the children will need to adjust their new way of life.In chapter 12-13 Iqbal starts entering the different bonded factories how do you think those workers feel and how come they trust Iqbal even when he is caught by the Munshi? Be sure to restate the questions and support your answer with test evidence using MLA format. (1 text evidence is enough)

The children wanted to be free. They didn't want to work for Hussain Khan anymore. They wanted to go back to their families. After getting what they had wanted for so long fatima said, "I felt lost, and so frightend"(84). Being free ment that they could go to the outside world. The thing is that they dont know what life is like outside of "their" life. It was going to be hard for them to adjust to their new life. They would know what to do without being told what to do. Even Fatima's first thought was, "I's better get to the loom. It's late and the master will punish me"(87). Getting used to sleeping in or getting to go outside will be a game changer for the free children. I think the workers might feel a sence of gratitude that someone is here to save them. I think that they just him even though he was caught by Munshi is because he was in the same situation they are. Iqbal even had to show his scars so they could trust him.

The kids want to escape from Hussain Khan and not have to work and be punished for everything. When they escape they do not know exactly what is going on until the next day. It will take awhile for them to ujust to the freedom because they have been told what to do their whole lives. When the other kids in the labor factory they would feel immense joy knowing that there is someone else who has gone through what they have and might be able to save them from there master even though they know that he might punish them. They think that they can escape like Iqbal.

The children wanted to be finally freed from their bonded work. They wanted to have full meals and clean clothes and be able to run around a field with their parents again. They were all shocked and confused when they first got freedom, but then they were ready to go home. It will take time to get to right weight again, and wake up at a normal time. Another thing would have to be finding something to do during the day instead making carpets. When Iqbal first met those children they must have been terrified to be introduced to something strange to them.

They don't know how to act because they been in one place their whole lives and been ruled by Hussain. They don't even know how to play. Which it states " Children play! The morning is yours. We broke up into small groups, feeling awkward". (88). I think that they workers in the factories feel hope.

The children want to be freed from the forced labour they have to work in. They want a free life with pleasures that other children have, like large meals, clothes, freedom, and their families. However, when they are able to go they remain where they are because they don't know where to go or start. When they get taken in they need to learn about new things in the world and how to take care of themselves and their bodies. When Iqbal goes into the carpet factories they first don't trust or believe him. However, when
shows his scars then they believe him because they had the same experience. Even when he gets caught because he escaped so they could too and he came back after being caught, but in the Brick factories, the workers would not listen at all because they could not stop working and they did not believe things could change.

I also think they wished for help and more food and to get more sleep. I also think they want clean clothes and be able to socially interact with one another. They should be able to go to school and learn to get a real job, plus, a good paying one too. They were frightened and just wanted live with their parents. They have been stuck in that sweat shop for so long, that they didn't have the social skills to be outside and go and be free. "I felt lost and frightened" (84)
