I am grateful to my life partner. He has worn so many hats at my jobs over the years : set designer, technical theatre manager, acting coach, comedy sportz teacher and so much more. At the end of the day he never give up on me and my students. We have "raised" amazing artists together and are two raging capricorns and never give up on our art and our relationship.

I am grateful for my wife and my in-laws. She just had our second child and, with all that is going on around us, she is the strongest person I know and taking time off from her job to look after our boys as I get back to work. My in-laws come over everyday to help with one or the other and it is a load off of our backs. I cannot begin to express how much their selflessness means to me.

I am grateful for my friend Cassandra who is so understanding and always tells me I do not need to explain myself. She gets me and makes me feel like I am more than enough as a friend, as a wife, a teacher, a sister, and a daughter. We can go months without talking to each other but as soon as we get together it's like no time has passed. She has come into class with me to help me set up for our Day of the Dead celebration, she helped me set up for my lacrosse teams senior night, and she came and helped me set up for my sisters quarantine 21st birthday party. When I have a problem she doesn't just support me and lets me vent but her response is "okay how can we fix this! Together we got this!"

I’m grateful for an understanding and loving husband and my wonderful children and compassionate friends who are there for me. The 2020 COVID twilight zone helped me to slow way down, to take the time to nurture relationships and listen to that still small voice to plant a garden in March that has blessed our neighborhood with fruit, vegetables and flowers with caterpillars and butterflies, birds, rabbits. One of the best scavenger hunt lessons I’ve done with collaborative teachers was taking the students on a virtual tour of my garden and they in turn excitedly shared their patios, yards and pets with us. It was so heartwarming to see the trust and relationships we’re building with our students even through zoom. We’re the human unconditional love socialization zooming into their isolation of not being able to come to school. Be the change You want to see in the world, it’s a matter of the altitude of your attitude.
