Thank you to the presenters for the insightful sharings across the different subject areas. We truly appreciate the time and effort taken to prepare the presentation slides and attend to our queries. Indeed, there are many key takeaways.

Following this, perhaps it would be useful for us if we were to have a compilation of the STP focus of each presentation.

This way, we could get an overview of the areas that have been covered and how we could apply them in our lessons. We could also identify those that have not been covered to explore further how they can be integrated accordingly for effective teaching and learning.

I like how DLC makes use of the 5 senses during class experiences to complete their work. I believe we can use this as a way to activate their prior knowledge when we go through OE lessons in PE. Thank you for sharing!

This is indeed a very powerful tool to encourage students to write without the fear of judgement. In the past, for EL we used to have mandatory journal writing. Free writing is similar to journalling and is a fabulous way to enhance the motivation in our students to write. A simple yet powerful strategy.

Tiered activities for students of different levels of readiness is a form of differentiated instruction that helps students progress at their own pace and close the learning gaps. Learning is made more meaningful for the students as they manage to achieve the lesson objectives.

A common struggle that we teachers may face though, is the frequency and consistency of DI in a mixed ability classroom.

I love the idea how we can improve the students’ motivation and love in writing. However how can teachers tackle grammar and spelling errors from their other formal writing tasks? Is it difficult to track and correct since you do not correct grammar and spellings at all in freewriting?

I like this idea❤️. I think I can apply it to my art lessons for students who are afraid to draw. I'll give them 10 minutes to draw anything that comes to mind without stopping, reminding them not to worry about the quality of their drawing.

I like how the whole school is working on helping students to get better at writing. Starting from DLC and continuing the process with the addition of voice etc. Hopefully at the end of their 6 years, our students would have learnt how to be confident and competent writers

We see a trend of athletes using videos for training and improvement. It is a more common sight in public gyms nowadays. This is a ripple effect which proves the benefits of employing videos in improving an area for sports performance. Maybe we can implement in other learning areas aside from only PE.

I may consider adopting free writing in a form of journal writing to encourage the love for writing at a young age and to expose students to basic sentence structure. This also will allow students to have a natural flair for writing and instil confidence in them to further improve on their writing capabilities.

There are valuable insights shared and I believe the next way forward is for us to facilitate how we can make connections between different subjects. For example, I have learnt plenty from PAM's lessons using thinking routines. How can this be extended to other subjects or areas? This will challenge us to transfer knowledge across disciplines, but also ensuring that we don't learn in silos, but rather in integrated, holistic manner. Cheers! :) (Fadilah)
