         <description><![CDATA[<div>Anticipatory sets should prep for an ongoing lesson or spiral back as a review. I usually use it to prep, but have never thought to use it as a review of a previous skill!<br><br>Including multiple manipulations in our lesson is so amazing. I don't teach math, but I can imagine with most of my kids in math class, would really benefit from that. Just in my class, I have some kids that type notes, write notes, draw, use text-speech, etc.<br><br>Connect the closure part of the lesson plan to something!<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

It's okay to allow students to "teach" each other. - even though I already utilize a "you do together" segment of my lessons, I never thought about actually allowing students to teach/guide someone else in a different technique.&nbsp;<br>2. It's easier for them to learn and retain if they're writing it out.&nbsp;<br>3.          <description><![CDATA[<div>John Hattie's scale was awesome and how it showed the effect size list! I had no idea about those percentages before. It was nice to hear about how to tie the math lessons into real-life situations for the students so that they are more relatable and engaging. Last but not least, I loved the "What's missing?" activity at the beginning and I am looking forward to trying that with my kids!</div>]]></description>

I needed to hear this today. :)<br><br>Let students teach each other! I have a few students who are way ahead of their peers and they always ask me if they can help a classmate. I can literally choose K-8 (though since I one day hope to teach 1st or 2nd grade I will most likely choose a Standard from that grade group). I plan to use Mathematical Practice #1 "Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them" for my lesson plan.</div>]]></description>
