The internet gives access to very mature and adult content that others can talk to each other about without knowing who is on the other end. This ties back into the example used by Johnathan Haidt when a 14-year-old was able to access the PornHub website and did not have to provide any necessary information or documentation that proved she was an adult. After she found the website and knew she had full access she kept returning to it and could have talked with strangers in a chat room she may have discovered.

When it comes to the internet anyone can post or give false information. Everything we see on the internet can be inaccurate and it can even be posted by children who are just trying to play a joke or be funny with their friends. This is why it is hard to determine if the information given is correct because the sources that post it could simply be someone who knows nothing about the topic and just wanted to spread false information.

Instead of people self medicating with the internet they should find solutions where no other problems or addictions can happen. Spending time away from the internet can give a persons brain and soul a reboot and they can connect back with reality. This could help relieve some of the stress or anxiety that one could be experiencing. Instead of making the situation worse, finding a hobby and turning the phone off could benefit someone way more.
