I have had some pre information about what PDC is and how the trainings are. But when I entered the class, the energy the trainers Swany and Burcu had made me easily adapt to the process. The ice breaker activities were literally enjoyable. The first activity, My Personal Star, is also suitable for my PDC meetings and the young learners to make the learning permanent. The second activity we did by Actionbound was extremely fun. I think it is not easy to adjust this app into the classrooms with young learners by using the application, but maybe in the PDC meetings, it would be more motivating for the teachers who have prejudice in advance. In a nutshell, the first day of the training has really motivated me. During these activities, which are easy to use in my PDC meetings, the participants easily involve to the process and try to guess some personal information about the others. Jigsaw reading and Onion Ring activities gives each participant to talk and share ideas to each other. With these activities, I have understood that we as teachers and facilitators of the future :), share similar problems in our teaching adventure and we can offer solutions to each other. And also Agree/Disagree activities are so appropriate to be used during the PDC meetings as a pre/post activity. The participants can evaluate themselves in terms of observing how much their ideas have changed.

In the afternoon session, the activities were generally about planning the course considering differentiation and how to adapt listening&do activities to our curriculum. Here, it is very important to be prepared in advance. Because of the limited time we have in our schools and the PDC meetings we're gonna hold, it is obvious that not every teaching step could be followed during those lessons/meetings. Considering the level of the Ss/participants, tasks should be prepared. Their understanding and reactions can be evaluated by monitoring how productive they are. In addition to these, facilitators/teachers should take into consideration differentiation in their groups. It is essential to simplify or make the activities harder according to the levels of the Ss/participants without losing the balance among them.

We practised the subject 'Why do the children have difficulty in speaking?' I got that point that Ss need more scaffolding because learning speaking takes time as we were acquiring our mother tongue. They need to feel secure and hear more. We can adapt every activity according to the Ss' level if there is a need to simplify such as back chains or drills.

In the afternoon session, the activities we did literally matched with the PDC cycle. We discussed about how to use dialogues in the classrooms and discussed on a lesson plan. Creating interest (because the Ss need a reason to speak) and increasing Ss' practice of speaking is possible if want to adapt some stages into our teaching which match engage and share stage in the PDC cycle. Then we made our own lesson plan from the coursebooks. 
Also, lots of changes can be done with the teachers in the PDC meetings. 
Generally, all teachers' problems are common. So, after an ice breaker activity like we did today 'What have we got in common?' game, their attitude might change. They will be eager to create solutions. They will see the causes of why their Ss find the activities difficult. and if the stages of a lesson is clarified for them, they will feel more secure and be encouraged to identify the problems and create their own solutions.

Chair swapping was really fun. Thanks Burcu teacher :))) I will definitely use with my Ss and in my PDC meetings. Afterwards the activity we did on reading made clear some points that I have missed in my teaching. Like the difference between reading aloud and reading silently. With the Binglish activity which we tried to read a text written backwards. Before we started to this activity, the context that Burcu teacher presented us by using a short quote from Leonardo da Vinci made us ready for what was coming. And she asked some questions about our own reading experiences in our primary or secondary school. Then, she chose a reader and an observer in pairs. Gave handouts to observers to follow, and the text written backwards to the readers. She said us to find a remote place in order not to disturb others. She warned readers about not looking at the text and let everyone start at hte same time. While the reader was trying to read the text, the observer noted down the mistakes. Then we discussed some questions from the book. Trying to read a text like that let us feel emphaty with the young leraners who are trying to read text in the books in front of the whole class. During the reading activities we should take into consideration this situation and should scaffold and give more constuctive feedback to them. Later we made a lesson plan on evaluating reading using some text from our coursebooks. Using the Secret Phrases activity which we did to understand the purpose of before/while reading, we created our own before/while lesson plans. This one is one of the activities I am going to use in my PDC meetings because we generally don't know how to apply some strategies into our lesson plans. 

In the afternoon session, Swany, the great actress :), read a book to us and we all learned how a book must be read :)) The technique called Shared Reading is going to be the one of my favorites that I use in my PDC meetings and of course in my classes. YLs will love it. An activity involves every steps of reading (top down - bottom up) on its own. I haven't realized this subject has such an importance in teaching English. I really loved mnemonic concept. I will use in my PDC meettings. I'm sure it will be fun and the participants will use in their classes. Also we did some activities and discussed on classroom management and the differences between a laidback and a strict teacher. Although in some cases our classroom management strategies may change, we need to keep the balance and save the routines. Also a teacher should consider almost every element in the classrom regarding classroom management. Where the desks settled for the daily activities, the places of the objects, the ages and the skills of the students and where the teacher stands and his/her interaction with the Ss are the main concepts of the classroom management. My favorite part of this seminar is every session there are lots of teaching hint that we haven't been taught or some parts that we have dismissed.

We started the session with a great warm up activity named chinese whispers. I love this game and I'm gonna use in my PDC meetings. In my own classes, sometimes I cannot prevent the noise especially during some activities. And as we discussed in the onion ring game, I learned some activities to manage the classroom and manage the activities itself. And those are stirring and settler activities. We need to settle the physical atmosphere maybe setting the furnitures regarding the activity. Also the materials that we will use like cut ups, crayons etc. should be ready in advance. We should decide group or make the Ss pairs. One of the important part is to give clear instructions and definitely check their understanding with ICQs which help the teacher handling the Ss no matter how old they are 😀. Before going to the lunch, we played running dictation game. With shorter sentences my Ss can also play this game. We put in order the sentences we dictated and discussed about the checklist that we need to follow before an activity.
 In the afternoon session, our topic was assessment. We discussed on AoL (formal assessment) and AfL (informal assessment which helps Ss understand better). We used learningapp to categorize some statements about them. Lastly, we discussed the criterias on what makes a test child-friendly.  We evalute some samples from different tests and tried to adapt a Turkish one regarding those criterias.

In the morning session also yesterday, the subjects we discussed and did exercises about feedback and assessment have really changed my point of view about them. Those concept are actually helpful and easy to adapt in our teaching procedure. I have realised that I have had some drawbacks about using those. In the afternoon session, we started planning our PDC outlines which makes me nervous cause I feel scared of how to manage the procedure. We are full of enough  information with this amazing training sessions. I have no doubt about the quality and the adequacy of the training we have received, but I would be extremely upset if I could not be successful as expected.
