He finished college and he graduated with a degree with a very good mark in 1990, and his parents wanted to send him to Oxford. He hated society, capitalist and consumerist. When Christopher finished college, he wanted to change his life. He wanted to escape from a consumerist and capitalist society in which he cannot live. He gave away all his money to Oxfam. It was also because of his passion for nature he went to the most extreme areas of Alaska, but it was also and above all for family reasons: an obsessive father, violent and prone to continuous betrayals, a mother too weak to take charge.

He meets a married of hippies, where he will become like a son. He goes to work in a farm where the boss considers him crazy but teaches him to hunt.

He arrives in Mexico by canoe passing under a dam.

The film is based on the book of Jon Krakauer.

The film is divided into 5 chapters, like a new life of the hero:

The film was published in 2007 in USA. It is a biographical survival film written, co-produced, and directed by Sean Penn.
