         <description><![CDATA[<p>Os líquenes são bioindicadores muito importantes da qualidade do ar porque absorvem diretamente da atmosfera os nutrientes que precisa sendo muito sensíveis à presença de poluentes como o dióxido de enxofre e os metais pesados. Por não possuírem raízes e dependerem do ar para sobreviverem refletem alterações ambientais especialmente relacionadas à poluição. Além disso, diferentes espécies de líquenes têm sensibilidades distintas, o que permite avaliar o grau de poluição de um local com base na comunidade de líquenes presentes.</p>]]></description>
