You've pushed the boundaries of SBC approaches, systematized and documented innovations - small doable actions, ABCD, red cards, champion communities ... let the community lead before it was "thing", and never lost faith or energy to push things forward.

Thanks for the work we've done together, and for the other work that countless others have benefited from. I hope to cross paths with you in the future!

One of the things that I will remember about you is your humility and friendliness with the community and with all of us we travelled with you. Wherever you go, you got a friend and you can always have a little snacks to buy and to share.

You taught us that behavior change start with us, development workers.

You share with us as well your vast experience in the BCC area.

Peter, you have been a wonderful colleague. I most admire your gift for turning turgid health research into visually and practical advice. Not an easy accomplishment to get folks pried away from their badly drawn flip charts about the 3 food groups. You were also so positive and your enthusiasm carried across to all of us who worked with you.

Lots of memories...you doing a workshop, such energy and never a power point...and the fun you created with your drawings and bold markings on whatever surface you found. I can see Peter up there!

I wish you a rewarding retirement. Hopefully there will be more illustrated children's books and vibrant watercolors. What new subjects will you discover??

Your contributions to AED and USAID have been significant. Blazing the way with simple, clear, effective approaches such as flag, red cards, and champion communities and certificates have influenced the development of health promotion to health communication to behavior change/social marketing and SBCC. Not to mention the gorgeous designs such as the wallpaper behind these homages.

I didn't work with you directly in during my 24 years with AED/FHI. However, I always enjoyed time spent with and your ideas. In addition, many thanks for bringing Nemat Kazemi into AED. His contributions benefited quite a few of my projects through the years, as well as others

Wherever you are, there is fun, get-togethers (Shiro house), long walks, participation in the Ethiopian Great Run, the inspiration of community activities (Red card movement), quality community tools, media engagement, model family approach, doable actions, - - - Your influence shift the Ethiopian SBC concept vividly, and thank you, thank you, and thank you for that, Peter!

Your natural ability to connect with the local community and seamlessly integrate into any team has truly set you apart. You've been a valued colleague and friend, bringing warmth and camaraderie to our field visits.
