I think this novel will be about a mystery that will need to be solved by hints in order to find it out and it will have something to do with a person that nobody knows and that nobody will suspect is doing all of the stealing within the books. Judging by the back of the book which states "When death has a story to tell, you listen" I predict that someone is going to die or is going to be dying in parts of the book.

Judging by the book's name and by the small summary in the book, I have a feeling that the girl of the story, Liesel I believe, will have to steal books to sell them to others who want them to support her family in Nazi Germany, but they end up harboring a Jewish man and everything just goes wrong. Since this takes place in Nazi time, I have a good feeling that Nazis will get involved and probably arrest her and kill the Jewish man. I have not read this book at all, even though it seems like I have.

Concentrating on the book´s cover, inner cover, and summary, I have a good feeling that the book is going to be dark. As of in the inner cover, it says "When death has a story to tell, you listen." I can infer that death is upon this book. Coming from the summary portion of the book, I can infer that it someone does die because it calls for her brothers funeral. Seconding that, i can finally infer it is based about a girl and her life changing decisions.

Liesel Meminger, also known as the book thief, has stolen her third book. She took it when the Nazi's had a large burning of books and other such things. Unfortunately, the mayor's wife saw her still the book. When Liesel's Mama forced her to collect the laundry from the townspeople, including the Mayor and his wife, she avoided there house as much as she was able. When Liesel's Mama noticed this she became infuriated (which was a common mood for her Mama to be in) Liesel was forced to go the the Mayor's house. Instead of receiving the punishment she thought she was going to receive from the Mayor's wife for taking a book, Liesel was invited inside. The Mayor's wife let her read books from her library, every time Liesel came to collect or deliver the laundry she was invited inside.
There also seems to be a second prospective that periodically shows up through out the book. It seems to be about a Jew in hiding. The Jew is receiving help from a German to help escape.

Liesel Meminger, decides that for a school assignment she will write to her mother. She writes many letters not knowing what she should send. She has also become better at reading and writing. She has also stolen her third book, The Shoulder Shrug, which she took from a pile of Jewish books and posters the Germans were trying to burn. She was almost successful in not being seen but then she realized the Mayors Wife, Ilsa Hermann. Liesel tries her best to avoid Ilsa but her Mama, Rosa Hubermann, forced her to go there and collect the wash. When Liesel gets there Ilsa brings her into her library in the basement. Now Liesel goes there often to read. Periodically we hear of a Jew named Max who is in hiding and is trying to escape to somewhere. I believe that he is being helped by Hans Hubermann. Liesel and Rudy's friendship grows as they start stealing fruit together along with other kids. The chapter ended with Hans buying the book Mein Kampf ( My Struggle) by Adolf Hitler. Max also has this book.

She then goes home, shows her father the book. He promises that they won't tell mama. Ever since Leisel stole the book, she has felt the paranoia of being watched. Mama asks her to collect the wash, and she goes to the Mayors house. His wife answers the door, and that's when Liesel realizes, the mayors wife had seen her steal the book. She allows Liesel to come inside, and Liesel gets to read the books in the Mayor's house. Then, Rudy and Liesel begin to get hungry, so they decide to steal fruit with some other kids they met.

Liesel was forced to attend a public Jewish item and general book burning, hosted by none other than the Nazis. After the burning, Liesel notices a book sitting in a wheelbarrow, buried under a pile of ashes. She decides to sneak the book into her jacket, but when she turns around, the mayor's wife is standing there. Liesel suddenly worries that she'll get in trouble, but luckily the mayor's wife walks away. She then goes over to Hans, they talk for a bit, Liesel says she hates Hitler (good girl), and Hans slaps her for saying that. She is then told to say "Heil Hitler", and they soon go home. While walking home, the book starts burning Liesel,s skin, and she's forced to take it out and drop it on the ground. Hans notices and asks her where she got it. Liesel explains where she got it from and Hans tells her to not mention the stealing part to Rosa or she;ll have to be punished for stealing.
Later that week, Liesel is collecting laundry from the neighbors, and she doesn't come back with the laundry nor the money from the mayor's house. Rosa orders Liesel to get the laundry and money from their house or don't come back at all. Liesel goes up to the house and is greeted by the mayor. Liesel asks for the wife, and she appears from the door. She silently invites her in to get their laundry, when Liesel notices the practical library-size room full of books. Being a book lover, Liesel is mesmerized by all the books. The mayor's wife lets her read some for a while, then gives Liesel a stack of books to take home. Liesel takes them, but forgets to thank the mayor's wife.
Later on, Rudy and Liesel are hungry and are sick of the current ratios they have to eat. They notice a boy who is eating a fresh apple and has two more bulges in his coat. The two approach the boy and ask him where he got the apples. He explains they he and a couple of other boys stole them from a local farm. The duo manage to convince the boy to bring them along on their next trip. Later that day, the duo meet up with the apple thieves. They steal away to the farm, where they climb over a barbed wire fence. On the way out, the farmer finds them and almost catches Rudy, but he manages to escape over the fence, leaving a piece of his pants behind. About a month later, the lead boy approaches them, gives them a few nuts, and implies that he is going off to the army. That is the last we saw of him.
During these pages, we are introduced to Max, a Jewish man being helped by Hans to escape from where he is. He is given a fake passport, a Mein Kampf (My Struggle), written by Hitler himself, and a map hidden in the book. He gets on multiple trains, trying to blend in and seem like he is German, and at the second stop, starts heading for Liesel's home to seek out Hans.
Omg, this was heck of a lot longer than I had expected.

In this section of The Book Thief there are many conflicts in many different ways. One of the problems in this section is Man vs. Society. Max made it to the Hubermann house and they took him in to live with them. It is an era to have a Jew in your house. They have to lay low for a while so Max doesn't get caught. Liesel and Rudy are the ones that seem to be okay with everything until they start to hang out with a group of kids that steal food.

Liesel walked in on him doing his push ups. He told her and she asked who won. He said he won. She went and also did some push ups. The relationship between Max and Liesel is getting better. I am glad that they are getting along better. I also don't want the Jew to die. So I hope he keeps practicing his push-ups. I think it is good Liesel is doing them to.

Liesel walks in and asks him what he's doing, and he explains what he's doing and why. Later on, the Hubermanns lose their last laundry customer, the mayor's wife, and Liesel if furious, since the wife tried to pay her back with a book. She goes home and tells Mama what she did, and tries to get her to hit her with one of those famous wooden spoons Mama used when Liesel was naughty. Later on, Max gets sick while he's outside building a snowman with Liesel.
At this point, there's a good chance that Liesel will become kind of rebel. She yelled at the mayor's wife and wanted Rosa to hit
her with a spoon afterwards.

In this section of "The Book Thief" Max is having nightmares about having to fight Hitler, because of this he starts working out. Also, Liesel went with Rudy to the mayors house to steel food, however Liesel takes it upon herself and instead of getting food she stole a book and Rudy called her the book thief. Also, while Liesel was in the basement to see Max she noticed a book so she picked it up, saw what was inside and put it back right where it was before, to make it look like she never touched it. I really enjoy reading this book so far, it has very unique things in this book, and I would recommend this book to people who haven't read it yet.

So far in The Book Thief , the main character Leisel faces many troubles. For example she has to get through her brother's death right before the two kids have to be given to foster parents. When Leisel moves in with the Hubermans, her foster parents, she finds herself living an entirely new life. As the book continues, it describes Leisel's love of reading, and her journey through being "The Book Thief". I enjoy this book so far. I think it is a good read, and I would recommend it to all of my friends. This book has lots of suspense, while educating you about the Hitler movement.

Max the Jewish man living in the Hubbermann's basement was building snowmen with Leisel, and now he is sick. Leisel visits him almost everyday hoping that he will wake up soon. I'm enjoying this books so far. I would recommend "The Book Thief" to anyone who is interested in learning more about World War II and about the Holocaust.

In this section of the novel, when Liesel is visiting the mayor's wife and the library, she gets handed an envelope that is firing Rosa Hubermann from her washing and ironing job. Liesel takes her anger out verbally at the mayor's wife for taking advantage of all of their luxuries while families like Liesel's are in the financial position they are in. Max is also still in hiding but has begun to work out doing push ups and sit ups in case the Fuhrer were to come. Liesel saw this and said that she wanted to do push ups too. I think that Liesel had the right to believe what she did about the mayor and his wife with their luxuries that they have, but her words were harsh and hurt people's feelings. I also think that Max and Liesel's relationship is building quickly.

This book has taught me many things about events that took place during the Holocaust, and so did our Holocaust projects, and even though we weren't alive during the Holocaust and will never know exactly how all these people lived/ felt during this time period we might have an idea now. While connecting this book to World events, I can think of many things. To sum it all up, I can describe how the whole book is historical fiction, so every event in the book has happened in the past, but the characters and some other factors are made-up to contribute to the story.
