Certificate of Insurance: Non-negotiable document issued by an insurance company that verifies the existence of an insurance policy and summarizes key aspects and conditions of the policy.

Proforma invoice: Preliminary document of sale sent to buyers in advance of a shipment of goods. The invoice describes the purchased items and other important information such as the shipping weight and transport charges.

Packing list: A seller-prepared commercial document indicating the weights, dimensions and contents of all the pieces in a shipment.

Origin certificate: Document confirming that the goods in a particular shipment have been wholly obtained, produced, manufactured or processed in a particular country.

Commercial invoice: final invoice that confirms the agreement between the exporter and the importer. It may include the same details as the proform invoice or different ones resulting from final negotiation.

Customs Invoice: An invoice for commercial export that customs needs. It has the description, quantity, selling price, freight, insurance. The delivery terms and payment are also listed.

Consular invoice: Document certifying a shipment of goods. Can be obtained through the consul of the importing country resident in the exporting country, who authorizes the invoice. The invoice is used by customs officials of the country to verify the value, quantity, and nature of the merchandise imported

Inspection certificate: A document certifying that merchandise was in good condition at the time of inspection, usually immediately prior to shipment.

Insurance policy: Contract between the insurer and the insured, which determines the claims which the insurer is legally required to pay. In exchange for an initial payment, known as the premium, the insurer agrees to pay for loss caused by perils covered under the policy.

Commercial offer: Document that is sent by the export business to the client that explains the features of their product and the selling conditions. 

SOIVRE certificate: Document of inspection and oficial control of a series of alimentary products that is demanded as a warranty of accomplishment of the quality rules, commercial specifications and packaging. It is issued by the Official Service of Surveillance, Certification and Technical Assistance of Foreign Trade.

Sanitari certificate: Issued by a competent governmental authority to show the cargo has been inspected and meets the minimum sanitary requirements. 

Phytosanitary certificate: Issued by a competent governmental authority to show that a particular shipment has been treated to be free from harmful pests and plant diseases.

Blacklist certificate: Due to political policy, one country may ban for any movements of goods to other’s if the origin of the goods is from a particular country, the parties involved(Insurance company, bank,...) are blacklisted, and the ship or aircraft calls the ports in that country.

Kosher certificate: Document issued by a Rabbi that certifies that the products referred (usually food) fulfill the biblical precepts of the Jewish religion. Kosher products are usually marked with the letter “K”. 

Halal certificate: Document that guarantees that products and services aimed at the Muslim population meet the requirements of Islamic law and therefore are suitable for consumption. Halal products are usually marked with the letter “M”.

Import administrative authorisation: It is used in importation of goods subject to national restrictions that require authorisations and licenses.

Import certificate:  Necessari document for the importation of goods.

Prior import notification: The trade regime for import goods is established on the basis of the countries and territories of origin of these goods, which are grouped into zones (A,B,C,D). Imports of goods shall be carried out under a regime of commercial freedom, except for those that are expressly subject to some type of restriction.

Import license: Document issued by a national government authorizing the importation of certain goods into its territory. It also specifies the volume of imports allowed.

SAD import: The import single administrative document is a customs form to control the import of goods arriving into EU nations.

Export administrative authorization: Document necessary for the export of some goods subject to some type of quantitative restriction resulting from the application of a Community policy or subject to an annual quantitative quota.

Export certificate: Necessari document for the exportation of goods.

Prior export notification: The trade regime for export goods is established on the basis of the countries and territories of origin of these goods, which are grouped into zones (A,B,C,D). Imports of goods shall be carried out under a regime of commercial freedom, except for those that are expressly subject to some type of restriction.

Sea waybill: Document for maritime shipment which serves as evidence of the contract of carriage and as a receipt for the goods, but is not a document of title.

Bill of lading: Document used as a formal contract of carriage of goods. It must be presented for taking delivery at the destination.

Charter party: Document used by the owner of goods to hire the use of a ship from a shipowner. 

CMR note:  Proof of the contract of carriage by road, determines the scope and responsibility for the operation performed and identifies the parties involved and the goods being transported.

TIR carnet: Document permitting sealed road transport shipments to traverse European TIR-members countries without undergoing customs inspection until reaching the destination country. Each carnet is only valid for one trip.

Railroad Bill of Lading: Proof of the contract of carriage by railway, determines the scope and responsibility for the operation performed and identifies the parties involved and the goods being transported.

TIF carnet: Document permitting sealed railway transport shipments to traverse European TIR-members countries without undergoing customs inspection until reaching the destination country. Each carnet is only valid for one trip.

Airway bill: Evidence of the international air transport contract, established between a shipper and an air transport company, whereby the latter acknowledges having received the goods for dispatch and is obliged to transport them to the destination airport in accordance with specified conditions.

Forwarder bill of lading: Signed declaration of the freight forwarder in which he confirms to the consignor that he has taken over the goods and has assumed responsibility for delivery as per instructions he has received.
