I believe that the image that reflects the king best is the last one with his head chopped off. It is the most significant because it shows what actually happened to the king and talks about how his death affected the people of the revolution.

I believe that the cartoon depicting the Flight to Varennes does the best job of describing Louis. He doesn't care about the people enough to completely abandon them, but when they find him attempting to escape, he begs for mercy from them. They see him as a person only hungry for power and not for the people.

I believe in the end, the most important image of the King is I, where he is executed. Throughout history you see revolution after revolution being smothered by the government, but in this case, you see an uprising that actually changes power from the King.

I think letter H is the most fitting because, throughout the revolution he was at the mercy of others, and had nearly no control over his, country, and even his wife. The people viewed him as a fat chubby man that looks like he's eating the rest of the country's bread

I believe that the most significant image of Louis XVI is H. This one shows Louis as having two heads during the Civil Constitution of the Clergy. I believe that this is important because up until his death, Louis was constantly attempting two please the clergy, aristocracy, and the people of the revolution.I believe that the image represents more than just the single event, but depicts the actions of Louis throughout the entire revolution. He was constantly caught in the middle of the revolution as the image depicts.

I believe that the most accurate portrayal of Louis XVI in the political cartoons was the image of the King, the Queen, and their son (The baker, the baker's wife, and the baker's boy). This image of Louis humiliates him because his wife is leading both him and their son. Also, it portrays them as the people with all of the bread (the baker's family), and that they are selfish not to give it to anyone else.

I believe the most accurate image of the king is cartoon B during the Legislative Assembly, because during this time the king was unable to provide what the people wanted while also staying in power. Louis was in a very precarious position for the majority of his reign and this provides a view that most accurately reflects that.

Image B is perhaps the best representation of King Louis XVI, it accurately portrays how conceding to the interests of his people to make them love him is counterproductive in running his country at the time. He was willing to concede to a Constitutional Monarchy, but now the Legislative Assembly wants a Republic and he is "walking a tightrope" between the "abyss" of the contrasting interests of himself and his people.

I believe that image E is the best representation of Louis XVI as a ruler. Despite the negative press constantly associated with Louis XVI, in reality he had the best interest of the people at heart. On the Night of August 4th he attempted to work with the third estate and in an attempt to move toward reform. Image E depicts the attempt to work toward improvement of France in coalition with the people.
