- TNAs should wear their white uniform at all times during contracted working hours
- This is to identify they are learners and should be allowed exposure to learning opportunities when they are available
- During bank or overtime shifts TNAs wear their normal CSW uniform

What support do they have?
- During clinical placements TNAs should be allocated one Practice Assessor and assigned Practice Supervisors.

These are:
Academic study time: 7.5 hours per week (the day is fixed dependent of level of study)
Protected learning time in HUB: Minimum of 7.5 hours per week (this can be rostered in one week blocks if appropriate for the clinical area. Totalling 495 hours for the full programme
For Leeds Beckett University learners: 7.5 hours per week for independent study. This can be at home, university library etc.
External placements: Usually 2-3 placements per academic year of roughly 4-5 weeks in length. Totalling 660 hours for the full programme

There are some slight differences between hours for different Universities.

The Education Practitioners and Learning facilitators will be able to come visit in the clinical areas and offer hands on support as required.
We would like to develop a T-Level buddy system in each clinical area. This would be an experienced band 2 or 3 CSW that can act as a mentor for the student and work the shifts with them. They are 2 year courses that are equivalent to 3 A-levels.
T-levels offer students academic learning and on the job industry experience.
2021 is the pilot group for Health T-level students in Leeds.
