HISTORY
Dupnisa Cave in the town of Demirköy Kırklareli approximately 50 km north of the village of Sarpdere 6 km. South. The total length of the Dupnisa Cave System, which consists of two interconnected tiers and three caves with different developmental characteristics, is 2720 meters. The hydrological characteristics, developmental periods, fauna density meteorology and intra-cave dripstone deposits of these caves, which develop in a 70-meter-high altitude, are extremely different from each other. It is very interesting to have three caves overlapping each other. The dry cave located at the top; It is extremely rich in the accumulation of dripstones.
Particularly stalactites, stalagmites, columns and wall dripstones have reached great dimensions. On the other hand, the Sulu Cave at the bottom, the underground depth and the lakes and the walls and curtain dripstones descending on the lakes in the form of fringes made the cave attractive.

For this reason, the system consisting of Dry and Sulu Caves is very suitable for tourism purposes. The beauty of the natural surroundings further enhances the importance of the cave.
In order to open this two-storey cave, which we believed to contribute positively to the development of Kirklareli tourism, both internal and external tourism should be illuminated and necessary road studies for transportation were carried out.
Especially in the summer months, thousands of visitors are rushing in on the weekends. There are 4 caves within the province of Kırklareli that would be suitable for tourism within the Strandja Forests.
