About 100 million animals are abused, neglect is a big part of this problem. People neglect duties on animals if it’s ‘too hard’, or ‘too many responsibilities’ which leads to poor environments or even abandonment.  Even if a person has a heart of gold, they too can neglect animals. According to the article “Can good people neglect their pets,” “In Michigan, a “veterinary educator” was charged with neglect for the 17 dogs and 2 cats in her home (Rosenthal).” As can tell, ‘veterinary’ would give a good impression on a person who studies animals (Rosenthal). But going on to the next sentence, “There are no details yet about the welfare of the animals in the article; only that they are in “poor condition.” According to another article called “13 Reasons Why Owners Abandon Their Dogs,” in paragraph 4, “If a person does not have a lot of free time, and/or does not wish to dedicate a large majority of it to care for a pet (Doyle).” This shows why an important part of animal abandonment is neglect because neglecting can lead to death, or even worse. Animal shelters, a high percentage (2.7 million) end up in horrible shelters. Such as kill shelters or shelters that care little about the animals they’re trying to sell.
