Reminder: When learning partners are absent

If your child is/you are absent, I will not send work home because I consider your child/you to be sick and sick children do not have to do work while they are at home.

I will have copies ready for your child/you to pick up, when he/she is/you are back.

If you nevertheless want to improve on your German, access your padlet or ANTON. I will pin tasks for you!

If your child has/you have finished its/your missed work and you want me to provide you with feedback, please send me your child's/your finished work in a private chat or let me know that his/her/your work is done and where I can find it.

If you have any questions or if you need my support to do the/your work, I am always available.

What is a padlet?

A padlet is an online tool that is best described as an online notice board. It can be used to post notes on any topic. The notes posted can contain links, videos, images and/or document files.

Why do we use a padlet?
A padlet offers us the possibility to access information quickly.

What does our padlet include?
Our padlet (will) include(s) general information, news, songs, videos as well as additional tasks for learning partners that want to improve their German.

We need to ...

Whenever you create something: Never use sharp scissors, a cutter, ... or hot glue without permission of your parents + when there is no adult around! You can hurt/burn yourself easily!

CHECK LIST

Supplies that the school provides you with:

- A red German exercise book with a DIN A5 envelop in its back to collect small cut out pieces of work.
- A red German folder.
- A pencil plus an eraser.
- Colored pencils, a scissor and a glue stick.

Supplies that I dearly would love to recommend:

- A pencil case if you have one already. You can carry all of your supplies at once and nothing gets lost. Plus a pencil case can prevent us from spreading germs.
- A school planer (Hausaufgabenheft) to make sure that you do not forget about things (i.e. upcoming events or your homework). It's also a good item for me to stay in contact with your parents and for them to stay in contact with me.
- A vocabulary excercise book (Vokabelheft) or a vocabulary box (Vokabelbox) to learn your new words more easily.
- A black or blue pilot pen. It's good to read and it does not smear when we write things down.

Dear parents and learning partners,

On the 11th of November Germans celebrate Saint Martin. Children create their own lanterns, they sing and walk together. There is usually a fire involved and a small treat.

To motivate your children to participate the event, I thought it would be a lovely idea to let them create their own lanterns in school.

I offered them three possibilities:

1. They can create their own lanterns out of cardboard that the school offers and material that they have at home.
2. They can buy their own lanterns and we put them together in school. Amazon has a range of different lanterns in stock (3,45 -15 Euro).
3. I can order/buy lanterns for them. Therefore they only need to bring in a certain amount of money.

If they are not interested in creating a lantern at all, they can do other tasks that I have planned/prepared for them.
