One day, back in 2017, I was at home and decided to walk around barefoot, like I usually did because it felt more comfortable.

Then, without realizing it, I tripped over a broken fan that was still turned on. I fell and hurt both my chin and my foot. At first, I didn’t feel much pain, but when I saw the injury, I got really scared.

My grandma was with me at the time, and when she saw what had happened, she got very worried. They quickly called my dad, who lived far away, and also contacted a doctor to come and check on me. Thanks to their help, I got the attention I needed, and luckily, everything turned out fine in the end.

Finally, I learned that even something as simple as walking barefoot can be risky — especially if there are dangerous things nearby. Now, I’m much more careful and always think twice before walking around without shoes.

One day my parents took me to the beach. First we went to my grandfather's house. I remember the yard was very large and had many trees.
The next day I visited the beach. It was a sunny day, the sun burning my skin.
Later, the sand and the smell of the sea splashed in the air. The waves broke on the shore, and the salty taste. I could see the blue and white of the waves... finally, my dream came true.

I remember when I went to visit my mother's relatives with all my family, uncles and cousins, because it was the birthday of a relative of theirs who lived on the ranch. It was about four years ago. At first everything was quiet and normal. Then my cousin and I came up with the great idea to climb a tree. First, she climbed right up. Then it was my turn. That was my canonical moment, because I climbed up and, as we tried to climb down, my cousin jumped down and surprisingly came out unscathed. Then, trying to imitate her, I ended up falling on my arm. Later, of course, the obvious happened: my arm was dislocated and at that very moment I went to the hospital for a check-up. In the end, they put me in a cast. In conclusion, you should not climb a tree.

When I was 8 years old, I fractured my arm after falling off a monkey bar, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. It all started shortly after my baby brother was born. At home, everything revolved around him, and I felt a little ignored. One day, my uncle came to visit and asked if I wanted to go to the park with him. I got super excited, but my mom didn’t want me to go. She said it was better if I stayed home, that she was tired. But I insisted over and over again until she finally said yes.

We went to the park, and there were all the games I loved. As soon as I saw the monkey bars, I ran toward them full of energy. I grabbed on and started to move forward, feeling brave and strong… but suddenly, I slipped. I fell straight to the ground, and the worst part was that I landed right on my arm.

The pain was immediate, like something had broken inside me. I started crying from the pain, and my uncle, seeing me like that, quickly took me to a nearby doctor. They didn’t take me to the hospital right away. The doctor examined me and, realizing it wasn’t something minor, called my dad.

When he arrived and found out what had happened, he got angry with my mom. They had a small argument—not too serious, but you could feel the tension. Eventually, they took me to the hospital, ran some tests, and confirmed that my arm was fractured. They put a cast on it, and I had to wear a brace for a month or two. It felt like forever.

When I got back home, my mom looked scared and worried. I think she felt guilty for letting me go. And even though everything turned out fine… I still have the scar.

I liked to tell her about every color of the butterflies I saw even though I didn't understand well yet.

The Saturday before last, my dad, my sister, and I went to the fair in the afternoon. The weather was perfect — sunny but not too hot — and there were lots of people enjoying the day. As soon as we arrived, we could hear music playing and smell all the delicious food from the stands.

We started by walking around and looking at the different games and rides. My sister and I were excited to try as many rides as possible, so we got on the roller coaster, the bumper cars, and even the spinning teacups. We laughed a lot and took pictures to remember the fun moments. My dad joined us on some of the rides, but after a while, he said he was going to take a break and go to the Tecate garden to relax.

While he was at the garden, my sister and I stayed at the fair a little longer. We ate cotton candy and shared a big plate of fries. Eventually, it started to get dark, and the lights of the fair looked even more beautiful. We met up with my dad again, and he looked happy and rested.

On the way home, my sister offered to drive. It was a calm and peaceful ride back, and we all felt tired but very happy after spending such a fun day together.

My sister and I were excited to explore the playground and try out every piece of equipment.

While we were there, we climbed up the structures and chased each other around. At one point, I was at the top of one of the playsets when my sister started running after me. On a whim, I decided to jump down from the height, but I landed directly on my arm. At first, I didn’t feel much pain and thought I was fine.

The next day, however, my arm became very swollen, and my parents took me to see a doctor. After an examination and an X‑ray, the doctor informed us that my arm was fract

ured.

My mom told me not to get on the bounce house because I was too little and I could fall. My parents were very worried and calmed me down with a banana because I was crying really hard. In the end, it wasn't anything serious and I had a great time at my party.

I didn’t quite understand what was happening until I saw my mom’s worried face and felt the pain right on my lip.

I had an accident. Something so quick and simple, but enough to land me in the emergency room. They stitched up my lip with several stitches. It didn’t hurt as much as the scare. I was embarrassed to talk, to laugh, to be seen. I thought people would make fun of me, that I would be marked forever. And yes, there is a small scar. My cousins and I were really bored and had nothing to do, so we came up with the idea of making a bedsheet house in the yard.

We started dragging old sheets, pillows, and an umbrella from my grandmother. When we finished the bedsheet house, we went inside with a bunch of snacks and started telling scary stories.

Suddenly, it started raining heavily. And our "house" wasn't exactly waterproof!

In a matter of seconds, we were soaked, and our entire house was falling apart. We ran outside, laughing out loud, while the sheets stuck to us.

In the end, we all ended up inside my uncle's house, drinking hot chocolate and watching movies. We learned that sometimes, the craziest plans end up being the most fun, even if you end up a little wet!

Suddenly, I looked out to sea and saw a ship on the horizon. I was so excited that I shouted, "Mom, Mom! A ship!" My mom came over, and together we watched it slowly sail away. I turned to her and said, "I want to be the captain of that ship when I grow up." She smiled and said, "Of course, son! You can be anything you want to be."
