In a time when there are more displaced people than ever before, LGBTQI+ people are uniquely vulnerable due to systemic, state-enabled homophobia and transphobia. These factors either displace them in their own country or prevent them from escaping harm. 

As a result of Rainbow Railroad, more LGBTQI+ individuals will be able to access lives free from persecution.

Since our founding, we’ve helped over 7,621 LGBTQI+ individuals find safety through emergency relocation and other forms of assistance. Our story has received international media attention, including a feature on CBS 60 Minutes.

In September 2021, she joined Rainbow Railroad permanently as a Program Officer.

Before Rainbow Railroad, Paige worked in various roles supporting child development and volunteered with newcomers and animals. She also worked at her university supporting new students in integrating to life on campus. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Prince Edward Island, in addition to her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria.

When not at Rainbow Railroad, Paige can be found thrifting, spending time with her cats, crafting, or sewing.

When Maicel is not in the office, he enjoys long hikes, swimming, and cooking.

For CRR, he is organizing newcomers to attend our volunteer workshops, and assisting with project administration.
