This is impactful because when someone with a big influence, such as the President himself, supports a candidate it causes other republicans and swing voters to be swayed to believe this candidate is best for Congress.

One of Spanberger's most eminent endorsements is the 47th vice president of the united states Joe Biden. Joe Biden is very well respected and has a big impact on voters. He said " As a member of Congress, Abigail will work across the aisle to deliver common sense solutions and have a lasting and positive impact on the lives of the people of the 7th District” (Joe Biden). This endorsement is very important because he was the Vice President, because of his important role in the government other democrats and swing voters will be persuaded to vote Spanberger for congress.

Walton has been endorsed by the Richmond Times-Dispatch Editorial Board when an article was published on him. This is important because it really draws locals to him because of a local paper writing on him. Spangberger is opposed to building a wall on Mexico and was very against Trumps travel ban. Although she does want strong border security and path for illegal immigrants to achieve citizenship. These positions are very inline with the democratic platform.

Joe  Walton believes in the Cato Institute. This plan allows each state to manage their own immigrant affairs. They control, operate, and run their own immigrant programs all under national supervision. He believes the second amendment is there for a reason, he believes it gives people to ability for full sovereignty and is an essential part of our constitution. This is very in-line of the republican party platform which very much opposes gun control and speaks out for the second amendment.

Spanberger was a CIA agent so she does support responsible gun ownership. She also advocates support for background checks on all gun purchasing. The Gun Violence Restraining Order Act of 2017 is something she supports very much. Spanberger wants to reduce all gun violence to children and adults safer. This is very on-line with the democratic platform which supports gun control as well.

Joe Walton also supports responsible gun ownership. Although he does want to implement more background checks to assure guns are not in the wrong, dangerous hands. This is not fully in-line with the libertarian party. Spanberger supports the Affordable Care act of 2010. She believes everyone should have the right to health care, her plan involves more federal government involvement. Her views are very similar to the Democratic Party Platform as well.

Joe Walton believes America has the responsibility to create the best health care plan out there. To do this Walton believes we must work to improve the existing Affordable Care Act.
