Humans, Databases, and Algorithms. This means that those who use AI should be mindful of the source of its information and take what it gives them with a grain of salt (like wikipedia). It's a great starting point, but we need to be cautious if we're asking AI for facts and accurate information. We also need to check for biases based on where each individual AI tool is pulling information.

Culturally, we are most likely at the Experimentation phase. There are a lot of people who are still leery of it and afraid to use it. However, as a profession, we are somewhere between Struggle and Progress/Dissemination. We are trying to figure out how to use it responsibly, teach it, and incorporate it into our daily teaching lives.

The way to get people to be more open-minded is to use it, and to be more transparent about when we use. That will "give permission" for others to begin to use it as well, or to at least ask questions about it.

AI gets its information from human input and pulls content from the Internet. However, Magic School AI stopped pulling info in 2022, so there are limits in currency and bias. There isn't continuous updating.

We're mostly in the Experimentation Phase- testing AI to solve different problems while also cautious about how we are using it and students are using.

Providing useful ways to show teachers how they can incorporate AI into lessons effectively. Teaching students how to use it responsibly and as a tool to improve their learning or build products as evidence of their learning.

How do we make sure students are using it responsibly? How do we train them to utilize the tools, vs cheating the system? How do we prepare our teachers to not only accept, but TEACH, the skills required for ethical use of AI? How do we convince our veteran teacher who have concerns that AI can improve student learning and support instruction? Lots of questions surround how to best use the resource with fidelity....staff development?? Who does it, which tools should we be recommending, how do we speak about this when we're already behind?

For students and staff to use AI as a springboard and not an end product. It is an extension of users' imagination. It opens up access; it is a viable option to spark imagination, brainstorm, and save time. It is cited as a normed resource; acknowledge use of it.
