My advice for graduating seniors who aren't music majors is to find a way to keep music in your life. It took me a long time to return to music, and I hadn't realized how much of a hole was in my life without it. I also recommend joining an alum chapter right away. It's a fantastic way to connect!

I would encourage graduating seniors to join sooner versus later. I waited 9 years(!!) before I joined the alum chapter and I feel like I missed out on so much. These ladies have rekindled my love for SAI in ways I did not think was possible!

Advice for graduating seniors, write thank you notes after you have a job interview! It seems strange at first, but write up a little note as soon as you leave the interview. It shows that you care about the job and you are serious about moving forward.

I love being able to connect with a new type of sisterhood. Alumnae life is much more laid back than collegiate life, and the relationships you have in the chapter are going to be much different than they were in college, but different is not a bad thing and I really treasure being able to connect with the older members and pick their brains on life experience!

I had a gap of over 20 years between graduation and joining the alum chapter. I had no idea what I was missing out on: friendship, networking, and performing opportunities. SAIs have become some of my best friends! Jane Christison, President, Kansas City Alumnae Chapter

My Epsilon Omega Chapter Sisters sustained my desire to excell as a musician with warm support and dazzling talents which gave clarity to the high standards we seek as SAIs. I continue being active as an Alumnus, desiring to pass on to the next generation of Sisters, that same focus on excellence, mutual support and the perpetuation of music making into the future! —Yvonne Walker, KC Alumnae Chapter
