there is alliteration in the name of the move with the use of 2 words which start with “W”. the “W” in woman is replaced with the hero logo which also has 2 “W” in it which refers to the alliteration in her name. the colors that she is wearing show a sign of patriotism. as well as the use of gold symbolize high power and stars which may also indicate the importance of her. and the use of the glare of light from her wrists and head band to show case the topic of the movie being about superheroes and the use of a busy and scattered background gives the sense of action and violence.

Wonder woman was DC comic where woman weren't seen as a superhero and it was also kind of put saying women could also be superheros and this is similar to what we are going through in this day and age because women do not feel they are not accepted in the world today.

When looking at this text we immediately notice the first technique the author used. The text is extremely detailed and image heavy, making the reader visually satisfied and intrigued. This could be the “hook” for the reader. The image is also blurred in the background and focuses more on Wonder Woman. This again causes the reader to focus more on the fictional character and is subconsciously embedded into their minds. The next thing we notice is that the author purposely made the text for the name of the movie and the release date larger. This causes the reader to think more about the movie. If a reader had the question of when will it be released, it’s answered. Readers may want to start clearing their schedule so they have time to watch the movie.

By looked at the text, we can infer that the girl is a superhero by looking at costume that she is wearing. The colors of the costume are bright and shiny which usually represents a superhero. The colors that she is wearing are the brightest in the text and she is in the center which helps shows that the "author" wants to put emphasis on her. She also has a whip on her side which can indicate her weapon that she uses. When we look at the background, we can see rubble and destruction which can indicate a battle of some sort has taken place. Out of all of the mess, the hero emerges practically untouched which helps show that she may have powers and is a main fighter that killed all of the enemies.

Layout: clean simple titles at the bottom... similar colour schemes and action shots (blues contrast with yellow or red pops/flashes)... always has a chaotic background out of which the 'hero' is emerging... this contrasts the heroic nature of the character with the background which is in need of 'saving'
Relation to other wonder woman posters: real life portrayal (live remakes) vs cartoons/animated.. seeing if the animation in any way diminishes the effect/impact of the hero character because it is not in an authentic context (relevance?)

Wonder women is originally a DC comic series. October 1941 is the original release. It is based on WW2. Marston actively wrote about, spoke, and promoted the women’s suffrage movement and supported early 20th Century feminism

Having a female superhero is relevant to our times as well because women don’t exactly have an equal status in todays world either. In fact, the first season of the television show Wonder Woman, which ran from 1975-1979, was actually set in 1942(based on WW2 and fighting against the Nazis).

Each poster is similar but has its own distinctive design, setting and background. This means that each poster puts an emphasis on not only the main character/hero, but also the setting/background and how it shows each character overcoming the challenges faced throughout the events of the story.

This DC superhero was introduced to the public in a time period where women were oppressed, and having a female and powerful character to look up-to really inspiring. Marston actively wrote about, spoke, and promoted the women empowerment and somewhat rose awerness by creating a powerful female women can look up-to. The comic is also based off of WW2 and was published in 1941.

All other DC posters have emphasized the main movie name and the character by creating a contrast of color between the background and figure. The background usually has darker tones whereas the highlighted text is bright for everyone to see. By making the background more insignificant the audience is focused on wonder-woman herself. Additionally this allows DC to capitalize on the recognizable color schemes and emblems of the hero’s and heroines themselves.
