The long-awaited day, the culmination of the PYP 5 Exhibition was conducted on 16th of April 2021 on the virtual platform where the Principal Ms. Letishia Harris, the PYP coordinator Ms. Susan, Homeroom Teacher Ms. Veronica and the other facilitators of the GIS facilitated the zoom platform. The PYP 5 students who were all dressed up in white attire hosted the entire event. There were teachers, staff, and invitees from all across the globe who were invited virtually to come together to showcase and celebrate the journey with us. The exhibition was a 12-week process where students applied their skills and knowledge which was successfully carried out online. This year the children collaboratively chose the theme "How we express ourselves,’ with the central idea, ‘Using art forms to express ourselves to influence society.’ The students were involved in a self-initiated inquiry into an issue of interest, they researched and decided on an action to be taken. There were 7 diverse issues that included- Gender inequality, racism, global warming, land pollution, the use of natural paints over chemical paints, Hazards of video gaming, and finally strategies to be engaged during the lockdown. Despite the challenges of it being virtual, the outcome was exceptional. The invitees enjoyed and appreciated the hard work that the Grade 5 students placed in to create and share their learnings. Not only did they share their research, but our students also provided suggestions for how we can make a difference.

The students cited their sources while extending their inquiry and displayed academic honesty, they were eager to give real-time scenarios and presented a wide variety of topics, and they reminded us of the interconnectedness of our global world.

The feedback of the parents in the Google Form and Padlet truly displayed the satisfaction of the guest and the audience. Overall, it was an awesome performance

Divsha was inspired to take action on the issue that people are facing both locally and globally. She says that she loves plants, trees, lush green landscapes, and the breeze and shade it offers.

With research, she has identified that she can work and influence society about the importance of trees. As they provide everyone with oxygen and help slow down the heating up of the earth.
