Best of chapter 10

By far, Chapter 10 has been one of my favorite chapters. Speficially in 10.2 page 286 under the heading Marcias identity status they speak on the 4 identity statuses. Also known as; Identity diffusion, density foreclosure, Moratorium, and identity achievement. To further explain each identity status continue reading for a simplified version of each. Starting off, identity diffusion is when you haven't figured out what you believe in or what to do yet. Density foreclosure is you made a decision without looking at other choices that are also available. Moratorium is when you're still trying to figure out ideas and options. Lastly, Identity achievement is when you've figured out who you are and exactly what you want. Now that I have explained the 4 identity statuses I believe that this is the best information because there's a place for everyone. Everyone falls under a certain section. Personally it was cool to see that there's actually a whole history behind them and that they were used to help expand on Erik Erkisons ideas.

In chapter 11 there was one specific section that really stood out to me was 11.3 work on page 329, the section is Exploring career happiness (and success). Just overall it stood out to me especially because I am graduating highschool right now. I didn't really know how much optimism and self efficacy matter until I read the chapter. Having a good attitude towards things will take you far in life. They state that "...people with who feel good about themselves gravitate to more rewarding fields." It really made me think about the saying look good feel good, and it really is true. When you feel good you're more confident throughout the day.

Chapter 12 is definitely my second favorite chapter, it really goes along with what girls in my age in todays society go through. In Chapter 12 section 12.2 physical development page 339 they speak on body image and how people see themselves. Specifically they state ".. how do I look compared to people my own age? ... why don't I look as sexy as Cher?" Throughout that section they speak solely on how women speak to their inner self when seeing another women look exactly how they want to. It doesn't just stop there no women is actually content with how she looks, there will always be that little voice inside their heads speaking on the way women influencers portray themselves.

Importance of Chapter 13&14

All of chapter 13 speaks on the development in both social and emotional aspects of later life. They use multiple people and asked them how they go about their life. Specifically "... at age 87; now after three more years of age related decline, I've almost had enough...living without people and possessions that shaped my life." This really teaches us that up until 87 he was still doing everything that he wanted to do in his life. life didn't stop when he turned 60 or 70 or 80 etc. That really shows that just because you're growing old doesn't mean you can't have fun, it doesn't mean that you can't do what you really want to do. Chapter 14 spoke a lot on the Neurocognitive disorders, As you grow up dementia is a big possibility. But, they teach you on ways to take care of yourself and I feel it is very important to keep up with your health.

My calculated life expectancy is 96 years! One thing I learned from taking this test is just by going to my health care provider I could add a year and a half to my life expectancy! I really need to start going yearly to check in with my doctor. Another thing that I learned was if I can manage my stress better I could raise my life expectancy even more! There are many ways to manage stress more I just need to figure out what works best for me.

Life Stage; Emerging adulthood

The ideal life stage is emerging adulthood. I feel that it is the most ideal because in the point you are either graduating high school or starting college. You are getting ready to start living your adulthood life and you have more responsibilities. You get to do more things like living on your own, expanding your horizon, staying out late with friends. They speak more on emerging adulthood in Chapter 10. I am currently in my emerging adulthood stage and I really do enjoy it. I feel that it will always be my favorite years when growing up. This was really my time to really explore everything, I turned 18 and was allowed to travel on my own and look into apartments in different cities.

There truly isn't anything I would like to change about this course, you have been one of my favorite professors by far. The dedication you show and the help you provide for your students is incredible. You always make it clear that you are here to help and if we have any questions or if we would just like to talk to you would be available. The course was easy, and straight forward. I really liked how you would post the assignments early so that we could get a head start. That really helped me stay on track with this course for the semester. The work was easy and nothing really that you couldn't just read the textbook and get the answer from . Thank you so much for this amazing semester. Goodluck!
