         <description><![CDATA[<div>Many math words can be confusing for English Learners, especially words like fair, factor, odd, acute, base, ray, key, period, plane, plot, prime, power, range, even, property, root, set, times, unit, value, set, and many more. By having students work with these words, become aware of their different meanings in different contexts and perhaps creating a dual language personal dictionary, students may be much better able to understand the more difficult academic language.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think that an important strategy to support ELL learners is collaboration amongst staff and resource people. For example with the help of the itinerant ELL teacher, it is possible to be more aware of where the student is in understanding the language, but also what you can do as a teacher to promote understanding. It allows you to approach the student appropriately, not having unrealistic expectations (too low or high).<br><br></div>]]></description>

The tasks that students are asked to do should have a variety of entry points and allow students to show their understand at their own speed. The video emphasis the students should understand that their success in math comes from little snap shots of everything they do.
