This video is about Otto von Bismarck, and how he was responsible for unifying the small states into the country of Germany. He used the realpolitik system and it earned him the name of iron chancellor. After university, he joined the Prussian civil service, and then got bored of his job and helped his father with family estates. In 1847, he married Johanna and was sent to Berlin to be a delegate for the Prussian Parliament. From 1851 to 1862, he served as ambassador to Russia and France. After he returned to Prussia, he was appointed prime minister by King Wilhelm. In 1864, he began a series of wars to establish Prussian power in Europe. He used help from Austria to capture the German-speaking territories from Denmark, and provoked Emperor Franz Joseph into starting the Austro-Prussian war in 1866. Next, he provoked hostilities with France and unified Germany's loose confederations against an outside enemy. That war was called the Franco-Prussian war lasting from 1870 to 1871. Then, the southern German states agreed to join the German Empire. William the first was crowned emperor, and Bismarck was chancellor. He was now focused on creating a unified country with a national identity. in the 1870s, he pursued a culture calm against the Catholic Church, saying that it had too much power. He was set to make the German Empire the most powerful in Europe. In 1879, he negotiated a dual alliance with Austria-Hungary to check the power of France and Russia. It the 1880s, he didn't want socialism spreading, so he created welfare state, and national healthcare accident insurance, and old-age pensions. In 1890, he was dismissed by the new emperor Wilhelm II, after a disagreement. He retired to his estate, and died on July 30th, 1898.

He was born June 22nd, 1805, and was revolutionary throughout his lifetime. he refused to participate in the parliamentary government that was established under the monarchy of the House of Savoy when Italy became unified and independent in 1861. His love of freedom led him to join the Carbonari, a secret society pledged to overthrow absolute rule in Italy. He founded his patriotic movement for young men and called it Giovine Italia. A projected rising in Piedmont in 1833 was discovered before it had begun; 12 conspirators were executed, one committed suicide, and Mazzini was tried in absence and condemned to death. Mazzini turned to wider revolutionary plans, based on his faith in the brotherhood of man and his hopes for a world republican federation. Many English liberals supported him when he founded the People’s International League in 1847. Back in London, he founded another society—the Friends of Italy—in 1851 and was soon involved in new revolutionary activities. In 1853 he backed the Milanese workers in their unsuccessful rising against the Austrians. In 1870 he misguidedly agreed to lead a republican rising in Sicily. He was arrested on his way there and interned at Gaeta but was released and pardoned after the occupation of Rome by Italian troops. In his last years he founded another paper, Roma del popolo (“Rome of the People”), which he edited from Lugano, and made plans for an Italian workingmen’s congress. He died from pleurisy at Pisa in 1872. He had never married.

Afterwards, it tells about what Costilla did in 1810, ringing the church bell in Dolores to call his parishioners to an announcement of revolution against the Spanish. He also read a speech named the "Cry of Delores." On January 17, 1811, Hidalgo fled north, hoping to escape into the United States. He was caught, expelled from the priesthood, and executed by firing squad as a rebel.

This video summarizes the way Mexico got its independence. Napoleon's brother took over the territory, and ruled as king. There was a rumor about an uprising in 1799, but it never happened. The Spanish people created small locally formed governments in place of the Spanish Colonial Government. Miguel Hidalgo started speaking against the Spanish policies. in 1810, the people were called in a revolution against Mexican authorities, but most of the population was loyal to the king still. He got a small army together and a famous military leader.
