6S have swimming on a Wednesday so children are expected to come with their swimming items in a bag.

This is monitored by staff in school and at the end of each half term, pupils who have consistently read will be rewarded for their tremendous effort.

If any parents require support getting logged into 'Boom Reader' can access this each Wednesday morning at the start of the school day.

The Christian value of generosity can be seen in many aspects of school life, both inside and outside the classroom. During Collective Worship for this half term we have been focusing on this school value and how we can show this in school and in our community.

We are already looking forward to our next school value of Honesty being focused on during Collective Worship next half term.

Our focus in Collective Worship this week has been looking at the Christian Value: Respect. Our theme this week has been about Wandering Wisely. Our Worships this week have been looking at the Big Picture News Question: Should we be allowed to travel anywhere we like? This has struck up lots of discussion in Collective Worship and in the classroom regarding the beauty of our world and why people love to explore it? Please continue this discussion at home. Ask your children the following questions: What do you think God would want us to remember when we travel and explore His world? In what ways can travel bring people together and help us understand different cultures? How can we, as a school community, show respect for the world even when we’re not travelling? #LetYourLightShine💡

We have come to the end of our spring half term at school and the children have made so much progress in all aspects of school life.

This half term we have launched our new wraparound care meaning school is now open for 10.25 hours each day. Please have a look at the range of activities happening in our newsletter. The children who have attended have really enjoyed their time.

It’s been delightful to walk around the classes and to hear children talking and look at how their learning is taking shape as part of our curriculum offer.

The children have experienced lots of activities, including taking part in opportunities offered by Wigan Council and the E-Safety workshops that have taken place this week. Our pupils and your children really are getting a superb offer in school.

Voices 2025, organised by our sister charity Coram Voice, is the only creative writing competition specifically for care-experienced children and young people aged 4-25. It provides a unique platform for them to showcase their creativity, celebrate their talents and shine a light on what it means to be care-experienced.

This year’s theme is ‘My Voice’. Entries can be poems, songs, raps, stories, articles, or anything else that fits the theme, up to 500 words.

Coram Voice have produced a resource pack to support anyone working with care-experienced children and young people to facilitate creative writing workshops around the theme ‘My Voice’ and encourage young people to enter.
