PSYCHISCHE EFFECTEN

  • Gelukzalig tintelend gevoel dat in golven komt en een ervaring van een warme gloed die door het lichaam stroomt
  • Energiek, helder, fit en alert
  • Euforie, opgewekt en vrolijk
  • Waarneming en geluiden worden intenser
  • Warm, open, verliefd, sterke behoefte aan contact, praten, intimiteit en vertrouwelijkheid. Men krijgt zin om anderen aan te raken en te knuffelen (vandaar de bijnaam hug drug)
  • Bij hoge doseringen mogelijk verwardheid, angst en hallucinaties

LICHAMELIJKE EFFECTEN

‘KATER’

Veel mensen voelen zich na het gebruik van XTC katerig of neerslachtig. Dit wordt ook wel de dinsdag dip genoemd (omdat veel gebruikers op zaterdag XTC slikken en de dip op dinsdag krijgen). Ze voelen zich somber en leeg. Deze gevoelens kunnen soms wel een dag of vijf aanhouden. Bij een enkeling kunnen depressieve klachten weken duren.
Soms begint de (dinsdag) dip meteen nadat de pil is uitgewerkt (de ‘comedown’).
Men kan nergens zin in hebben, geïrriteerd zijn, huilbuien krijgen, ongeconcentreerd zijn, geheugenstoornissen hebben of even niet goed meer kunnen zien.

In een behandeling gericht op onthouding krijgt de persoon dagelijks methadon en wordt de dosis geleidelijk afgebouwd, dit in combinatie met een psychosociale begeleiding. Zo worden de kansen op vroegtijdig afhaken verkleind en de kans op een voortgezette behandeling vergroot.

Bij een onderhoudsbehandeling krijgt de persoon dagelijks onder toezicht zijn voorgeschreven dosis methadon. Door de langere werkingsduur van methadon volstaat één dosis per dag waardoor de gebruiker zich meer kan concentreren op zijn herstel en bijvoorbeeld kan gaan werken. Ook tijdens een onderhoudsbehandeling wordt een brede waaier aan psychosociale ondersteuning voorzien.

Uw lichaam ontwent van GHB. Ontgiften kan thuis of in een kliniek, maar liever behandelen we u in een kliniek. Als u GHB verslaafd bent krijgt u klachten bij het stoppen met GHB. Ineens stoppen kan erg gevaarlijk zijn. Afkicken van een GHB verslaving kan zeer heftig zijn wanneer u ineens gaat stoppen. Stop daarom altijd onder begeleiding van professionele medische hulp.
